Your not breaking any rules. Idk if your trying to go for abstract drawings or short of trying to stretch reality in a sense but if that's the case ignore my next suggestion. I think you should work on proportion and anatomy. Maybe you could do a clean sketch of someone so we could see? Most of these things look like 10-15 minute sketches in your sketch book. When I was in high school art classes my teacher preached on the subject of quick sketches from your mind and surroundings, but it's also nice to finish somethings up. Again if these are finished and are just the effect your going for disregard my comments.

Idk why people have so much trouble with hands. I have problems getting facial expressions and proportions right more than I do with hands. I'm waiting to see what he does with this piece.

He gave me 10 krones for it.

He paid you $1.65? lol

Redraws of art here on newgrounds isn't all that interesting. Yea they're good but not great. THe painting of the banksy graffiti on your wall looks good but like posted earlier finish it up. Also the venom drawings are good but try to clean them up. sketchy drawings are good but finished drawings are better.

This isn't the same pose as yours but it gives you an idea of the proportions you need.
Female Propotions

Also Here is a female head/face for those proportions.
Female face/head

Also those pictures can be rotated so you should have no problem with proportions.

Response to: Phtoshop CS5 help? Posted June 15th, 2010 in Art

The answer depends on one thing...sort of.

Do you have a Graphics tablet? If yes then you can use the brush or pencil tool which ever you like. If you don't and can't draw with a mouse worth a flip, then you can try the pen tool but (if your like me) it wont turn out good.

I usually just clean my sketch up on paper. Using a ruler and pen. Make your lines the way you want them in the final drawing. Then scan and get rid of the white background and voila you have line art.

The only major things I see wrong are her head and her chest. Idk what it is about her chest but it just doesnt look right. Her head is a little bit big even for cartoon standards Imo.

For a first time this is pretty good.

Recons Artistic Attempts. Posted June 15th, 2010 in Art

I've been posting around on other peoples art threads so figured it was time I start one of my own to show some of my "attempts" at art.

I'm practicing my shading, perspective, and proportions right now.

The clouds look like they wanna pet the big teddy bear. lol These drawings are really nice. I really like the rabbit one. That ones sexy. :P

Sniper- THe scope looks really huge. Even in TF2 and cartoony art there is still proportion.
MJ- Its very basic lineart. Not much detail at all. Hope this person didnt pay you alot...
Pellet art- Anyone can do this stuff its rally not that interesting.

You should deffinately work on cleaning up your art. Shading, color, proportion. But you have a good start. And if your tracing, at least be honest about it...

I love to draw in pencil as well, but its always fun to get down and dirty and make a mess with pastels, chalk, paint whatever. Experiment have fun make a mess. Who cares if it's a masterpiece at first. As my art teacher use to say "gotta pull out the weeds to find the flowers." Just have fun with it.
