The problem with people with half a brain is that they look too far into these things and come to horrific and unthinkable conclusions.

Nope, the chain of logical conclusions would lead to what you just said in one long rant in about five seconds, and that would be the end of that.

Not quite

Kazahstan is not a valid threat since it's a Russian Ally, China, as we all know doesn't plan to join the NATO in the next... oh... say... 200 years, and do i even need to discuss the Military capability of MONGOLIA?

I stand by my words.

Also, a fun fact, for those interested (i think i read someone talk about the size of Russia):
Russia has slightly more territory than the whole surface of Pluto.

2. Georgia's president will be captured.

3. he will be put on a sham trial for genocide.

4. he will be found guilty and executed in public.

5. Russia will pretty much keep Georgia claiming to be there to stabilize and rebuild, they will never leave and eventually use mass propaganda to brain wash the people into voting to be part of russia.

Putin knows the American army is stretched. he knows that bush has little influence. He is using this opportunity to get his hands on more territory. To take on Russia, America would have to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is pretty much the end of Georgia, or the beginning of WW3, or both.

And here's what i see happening.

1. The Capital falls.

2. The President is Captured.

3. He is put on a sham trial, released after a few years, when he becomes politically unimportant.

4. A Pro-Russian government is put to power in Georgia.

5. South Ossetia and Abkhazia hold a referendum and secede, both having Pro-Russian Governments.

6. Russia now has another three satellites and Georgia does not join the NATO, thus the Russian southern border is secure.

7. Everyone is happy. Except the West. They are sad. And most Georgians are sad. But what can you do, that's life. You can't always get what you want.

No WWIII because, it's simply, no offense to our Georgian friends, not worth it.

Response to: Olympic medals = power of country? Posted August 8th, 2008 in Politics

As much as i think that winning Olympic medals is important to the people of china, (as a morale booster, isn't that what sports generally are?) i don't think that any Chinese politician can see the Olympics as anything more than just that. I don't think anyone who isn't a sports fan can give importance to such a... simply put, show.

Because, lets be serious, anyone who isn't a fan, and isn't boycotting the Olympics for some more or less trivial reason (Seriously 2 million MONKS? come on now) will only see the spectacular opening ceremony which is just a PR stunt.

And that's all the Olympics are. A PR stunt.

As for that whole the-more-medals-the-more-likely-the-down fall thing, i think that its just silly, because winning the medals, only depends on how much money you want to invest in your team.

Sure the Chinese might win more medals than the US, but seriously, who important gives a damn?

The Chinese? Yeah, some of them do. And that's it.

But there is one thing i can guarantee, public opinion of china throughout the world after this event can only rise whoever wins. Is that a good thing? I don't really know. Sorta?

HONESTLY?
I am not saying that Obama himself will do this. I am not saying that Obama will go mad and wacko like that. But he may lead politics that may weaken the USA (in a wide-sense) to the point where Islam can actually stand a chance. He might go soft on Muslims, and even somewhat promote Islam in a very subtle way, making more people to either convert to Islam (ads, mosques, etc), or make it easier for those abroad to come in. It would be then these folks, several years in the future, who may actually make Islam stronger and stronger within the USA. Its not what Obama himself will do as a President, but the many subtle doors he may open that don't really convince me. He can make it easy for Islam to get through. This itself shoult not be an issue, but it sadly is, as Muslims consider that they need to conquer the West (which is represented by the USA and Europe).

Ah, those irrational fears...

Extremism in any religion is mostly present in the less educated, and poorer parts of the population, which is, in most Islamic countries, a majority. But, as time passes, and countries develop, this extreme view of Religion dissipates. If you give your "Muslim World Domination" theory to a well educated Muslim man, he would probably laugh and give you a sarcastic "Yeah..."

Now, how this ties into the story: By the time any Islamic state can pose a real threat to America (except terrorism, but your FBI seems to be in control of that) , they will probably become developed and influenced by the west, alot like Jordan and Saudi Arabia (who, even though having questionable human rights, is a trading ally of the US, and a country that would never even think world domination is a viable political scenario) , countries where Fundamentalism still exists, but is not the prevalent political opinion, due to the increasing life standard.

So, in twenty years, when Islam (Hypothetically) reaches the US, it will be a lot like Christianity, a relic of the past slowly being destroyed by education, and better life standards.

Sleep easy, my friend, for you are safe.

That if the USA indeed becomes the helper of Islamic ambitions (Obama or not), then we better hope that the USA itself gets weak quickly, allowing Russia or China to become the World Superpower. Erm... this is a tough one... well from what i heard the girl mentioned was on a mental level of a three-month year old, which would be a little smarter than a dog... (she responded to affection and smiled from time to time), she was also going through excruciating pain.

Now, if she was a dog, what would be done to her?

Now, the only problem in this story is that she isnt a dog but a human being, allthough incomplete, one that has basic rights of a human being (in your flawed system at least).

So what i belive should of been done in this paticular case, was to charge the man, put him in jail for a few months and then let him out on parole. Remember, the girl was going through hell.

But on the subject of assisted suicide and euthanasia, if the law was passed, and of course properly put into practice by havin experts deduce the necessity of euthanasia, also listening to the wish of the family (and in the end obeying it), it would be completley okay in my book.

But now another problem that arises is, of course, the enemy of us all, the unmentionable ones, THE HUMAN RIGHT GROUPS. Take a second to recoil from my mentioning their evil name.

Now, they would be on this law faster then a pyrhana on a baby swiming in the amazon. They would tear it apart, destroying half the US judicial system with it. So, while this law is morally passable, realisticly, it cannot exist in this universe.

Almost every political organisation in the middle east goes from criminal, over terrorist, into legal political. Right now the Hamas are balancing themselves on the line between the terrorist and political, and by doing so putting the palestinian people through many hardships.

And Israel is, by responding to every rocket attack with a full blown war, pulling Hamas back to being terrorist, instead of pushing them to become more of a passive political entity.
