This is a club for all the bassists of NG, I am well aware of the Bassists topic in the Audio forum but it's pretty inactive so I decided to make a club for bassists where it really belongs. We can use this club to discuss the best basses, gear, best (and worst) current bassists and of course, the classics and we can just use it to share stories, etc.

To join just post your main bass influences, your gear, how long you've been playing, etc.

I've been playing for about 3 years, I'd say I'm pretty decent. I'm using a Fender Squire J. Bass with a Laney RB2 amp. I'm saving up for an Ibanez Iceman bass and a Laney RB5 amp.

My main influences are: Geddy Lee, Cliff Burton, Troy Sanders and Dirk Lance.

I gotta say you are wrong there man. Look at grunge as a whole, every grunge band was vastly different. It died because after Nevermind came out a whole fuckload of Kurdt Kobain cocksuckers decided to copy the exact formula Nirvana used.

When you look at the whole picture you have such diverse bands as: Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, Alice In Chains, Mudhoney and more. Each one of those bands had a completely different style and they all (except Mudhoney) grew and changed their sound over the years.

Grunge died because Nu-Metal came along and all teenagers decided grunge wasn't BR00TAL enough for them. Then Nu-Metal was deemed not enough which is how we have such terrible shitty fucking bands as Bring Me The Horizon today.

Basically you can't say that grunge did exactly the same thing for the whole time. Heck even Nirvana drastically changed their sound across their three albums.

When I was growing up there were 151 Pokemon, it hasn't been thr same since they added more.

I absolutely adore coffee. Quite recently I've been indulging in Starbucks' Caramel Cream Frappucino, I'd never actually tried cold coffee before but i was pleasantly surprised.

I DO have a favorite mug, it is the biggest one i have to hold extra coffee. It has a cool pattern on it, I might get around to posting a picture sometime.

Yes I watched it. I found it incredibly interesting, I don't agree with restoring the death penalty except in exceptional circumstances. As of yet I haven't worked out whatthese cirumstances are.

My dad treats me with an air of contempt all the time since I came out as bi. My mum is completely fine with it but she nonchalantly said (whilst trying to defuse the situation) "Well at least he's not gay" then prompting my dad to shout "WELL HE MIGHT AS WELL BE!". Things still aren't great between us but they're getting better.
