It's not the most effective way of doing it... but that's how it works. Sadly.

But that doesn't make sense. This weeks second place doesn't have a score higher than 4.49 and only has 3 downloads...?

It's...decent. Are you going to think up a story, or just kinda... Go with the flow? I'd recommend at least coming up with key ideas to use. Also, don't forget about backgrounds, but I'm assuming you just haven't gotten to that yet :B

True true. That's probably a better idea. I'm always afraid that things will get thiefed from those websites though... :\

I've seen a lot of songs out in the portal with the tags WIP, so I figured I'd make a thread where people can post their works in progress or unfinished songs and get some feedback. We all know what it's like getting stuck on a song. This may just be what you need to get that song moving again.

So... I guess I'll start. I'm not really stuck, I just wanted to know what people thought of this song. I'm thinking of having the song change somehow after the end, I just dunno how yet.

First two results in google. Sounds like fighting sounds to me.

I'm sure you could easily google 'Fighting Sound Effects' and get a bunch of them... You try that yet?

Go to File->Publish Settings. Now click on the flash tab. Near the bottom you should see two options, Audio Stream, and Audio Event. Click Set (the option to the right of those two) and you should be able to change the export quality. I would recommend something at 128 or above. Keep in mind, changing this will also increase your file size depending on how high you set the quality.

One tip I can give you guys is to start small, and don't expect anything extremely awesome right off the bat. Every project you make will be a learning experience and will help you in your next project.

As for more focused tips, I would recommend browsing the flash tutorials section here on Newgrounds. I know they've helped me. If you want to learn about actionscript, you can also check out this thread. That thread is mainly for AS2, but I believe there's one for AS3 as well. Good luck to you all!
