PS. ANY females fancy doing a casting for Logan Jr, the younger version of the protagonist, please also hit me up. I've had some immense responses, and looking forward to working with a particular guy, but for Logan Jr it might need a more high pitched tone.

Many thanks!

Game - Calling for: Voice-Actors Posted January 10th, 2014 in Collaboration

Hello guys and gals,

Following my previous post, I've settled myself on two game projects with a bunch of folks from around these parts. One in particular, is a game titled: ''THE PECULIAR LUNCHBOX OF MECHANIC LOGAN''. In the game you play as the lab mechanic, Logan, who is joined by his food companions from his lunchbox. Made into livable ''creatures'', following a belly-up scientific experiment Logan's lunchbox was accidentally a part of, the food helps him help them on a journey to abolish food consumption. Impossible, you say? They try anyway.

The game-play allows for the player to switch back and forth between two modes of play: Protagonist or Food Companion - as the primary playable. You will need to control either for certain problem solving in-game, but as you play with the actual protagonist, the food companion will be with you anyway. Since there are more than one, only one can be on Logan's shoulder at any given time. The reason why you would cycle the food from say, Ham, to Cheese, would be because of their abilities and influences on Logan's abilities.

So! Our team currently consists of a musician, a programmer, and me, the artist. We need voice-actors for querky, tongue-in-cheek food puns and comments for in-game and for various cutscenes. Our current endeavor is to finish one or two levels with one of them being a tutorial one, informed by one cutscene and complete with sound of all required types. The voice we'd like to have for the first level is: LOGAN. We already have Ham's voice, but if you are interested in casting for other food types as well as Logan's, then do, by all means, get in contact too. A nice accent variety for the range of food would be awesome too btw.

LOGAN:
Mechanic Logan is a little bit of a twit, who goes along with the plans of his food companions. He's big, strong, just a little slow-minded. This could be reflective in his voice where tone and pacing are concerned. His characteristics are contrasted by that of the food, who have more intelligent but weaker physically (but with particular abilities which make them useful).

So, as touched on, we need some lines based on the first level's gameplay. The characters may say something relating to a door upon passing it, indicating to interact with it, so helpful hints essentially. Or some other lines that are completely useless but are humorous!

I've attached one image of Logan, so you can see the aesthetic choice we've gone for with this. If you're interested, you should know that this project will likely become a Kickstarter campaign or otherwise be published once completed. Therefore, monies could come your way through a splitting of royalties. We primarily want this to be a fun project, for enthused individuals wanting to create something awesome - with a bonus if the game is a commercial success.

PS. I'm offering this for free - I'm looking for a lighthearted but consistent, determined collab.

Artist/Animator collab offering Posted January 6th, 2014 in Collaboration

I'm never not enticed by the amount of energy here. So it is that I'd like to collaborate with some interesting and enticing folk who need visual assets for their project. Whether you're a programmer in need of an artist, a director/ideas person in need of an animator, or otherwise -- whatever it is, by all means, hit me up.

You can view my work on DeviantART here: http://www.puddlefisher.deviantart.com while there are many styles present in my gallery, I only tend to animate in clean, lineless styles which I find most communicative and expressive. I think there are some examples as such in my Gallery I just linked to.

You can contact me either through here, on Skype: pooketz or by email: pooketz@gmail.com

Hope I can find a nice project or two to contribute. Again: http://www.puddlefisher.deviantart.com is my gallery.

Dear Programmer,

Writing as an artist who can speak for many like-minded people when I say that there is room for improvement when it comes to drawing applications with network capabilities. I'd like to make this submission in the pursuit of finding a programmer who would like to develop this application with me - I'm the one who can make the thing look aesthetically pleasing, and create promotion art, host the domain and server for networking capabilities also. In any involvement, the persons will be entitled to profits if any, if sold. I was thinking of a basic business model of premium membership to the service whereby extra features would be added, like tools, brushes etc.

Similar applications are Niko's Paint Chat & DeviantART Mural, the former isn't very responsive and the latter isn't network capable. I've found some limited tutorials online which explain somewhat about how to do this, but I'm no programer and I would be setting myself up to fail due to the ambitions that I have for the app. I'd very much appreciate any response from you guys. If you want to check out my art to determine what contributions I could make, at what caliber, then please go here:

In the meantime, if you would like to contact, please do so by the following:

Best regards,
Chris

If you're interested in flash however....

I replied to your mail, pal. Thanks a bunch for your interest - flash is definitely within my consideration now. <3

Dear All,

As an enthused and passionate video games developer (illustrator and animator) whose field in asset creation has geared me to pursue my own title, Little Journey. This game's premise revolves around an outcast, Mon, whose antlers were struck by lightning which left them less-than-flourished. In his efforts to pursue his former self and form a new identity with even better antlers than he had before, Little Mon sets out upon his quest of all quest - meeting peculiar fellows along the way.

The game's visual aesthetic has something of a contemporary illustrative appeal wherein shape and color take huge significance in the almost silhouetted assets. I anticipate the game-play to be about combat, puzzle solving and exploration, where you will control two interchangeable allies whose separate attributes will allow for concise puzzle solving.

I've been working with a programmer who has chosen to use Game Maker: Pro for this, and we have something of an extremely early demonstration file which you can download from IndieDB (linked at the bottom of this thread) but I'd like to test the waters with (probably) Unity(?), since I think it has more potential and possibilities - and might even be easier to obtain the results we want. In joining, you'll be alongside Kevin Yeske, the programmer who has stuck by my side since this development's inception - the reason for asking for an additional one is twofold:

- Having been working with sound artists/musicians who have produced some music, sound effects and narration for the game (think Bastion) and visual assets from myself, it is time to start putting the game together. I' think Kevin is comfortable with Game Maker, and I want to show him the potential that Unity will have for the project by developing a small prototype using the engine, looking to produce the entire game in it afterward.

- Additional to this, I'd like to work at a consistent pace, and Kevin has less time on his hands following a recent job offer, so to potential candidates: please have the availability for this before considering contacting me with your application.

Should you be interested, please contact me on:
Skype: pooketz
E-mail: chris@puddlefisher.com

You can download the current demonstration file of the game on IndieDB, the page of which can be found here: http://www.indiedb.com/games/little-journey

Controls are as follows:
z - action button/jump
x - glide/''talk'' to NPCs
space - switch playable character
alt - zoom in/out

Thanks for your consideration,
Chris
