Tomorrow, jury selection starts for Andrea Yates. Andrea Yates was the Houston area mother, who killed five of her children in the bath tub back in June of 2001. My mother used to work with Andrea Yates in the early 1990s as a nurse. Its a shocker. My mother said Andrea Yates is a nice woman and would never do such a horrible thing. In 1986, another woman killed her children. She had seven children and threw six of them into a bayou. One of them fled. Bystanders resuced four of the children in the bayou, but two of them drowned. The woman only got 10 years probation for that incident. The Andrea Yates case similiar to a Hawaiian case in 1959, where a mother did them thing, by drowning them in a bath tub and putting them on towels afterwards. The mother was a wife of a serviceman for the military. In your opinion, what should be the punishment for Andrea Yates, death, life in prison, or confinement to mental institute?
