Response to: A question to all you Americans... Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

I dunno, it's hard to tell, really. Bush's approvals hover in the 50's, but it seems everyone I meet is for the damn war. (I happen to live in hicksville, by the way) I'm for it to a degree, but not to the point many others are. I also think Bush is a moron.

Response to: don't attack iraq.................. Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Mulder, I'm just curious. Why don't you break down what it is we need to do as far as this war this is concerned. I'd like to hear your opinion before I give my own.

Response to: Someone define 'American' Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Wow... The pope must really be slumming it... Coming to little ol' Newgrounds to exhibit a point. Well, more power to ya, I suppose.

No attack on you, captain. I was just tired of the bush threads.

Response to: Australia's Involvement in Iraq Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

I think the US would charge in to save the day. They have a habit of policing the world, and if Australia commits to the US, the US will probably follow through.

Not true. Many members of the KKK are big-time christians who attend mass, you know. Just so you know, just because you attend mass doesn't mean you aren't a bigot.

Yup. Better make sure that you get it all though...

otherwise we'll have a big biological problems...

Response to: politics game Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

This either needs to be better explained, or run somewhere completely different. Or, you could turn it into a PBEM game.

Response to: WAR Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Many folks speculate that Bush is pushing war for oily financial purposes. I dunno if that's COMPLETELY true, but...

Response to: PICK IRAQS D-DAY Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

I'm with Shrike. The poetic coincedences would be too good to pass up, all negotiations will seem hopeless by then, and that will leave plenty of time to set everything up, will it not?

Response to: N Korea vs USA Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

This had potential to be a pretty god political thread, but alas. It gets mucked up with big dick jokes.

*sigh*

Oh well. I formally apologize for having a bigger penis.

I have a great idea, though. Why don't we as Americans ignore N. Korea and bomb the fuck out of Africa? We've all heard the stories...

Response to: Why fear death? Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

No matter what your religion, you fear death to a degree. It's a big unknown. Nobody knows anything for sure (regardless of your FAITH in whatever), and people fear what they don't understand.

Response to: I support an invasion of iraq. Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Man, this has to be like the fourth or fifth BBS thread asking about being for or against the war.

PJ's *Official Stand*

More for than against, but nobody really wants a war.

Thank you, good night.

Response to: arch rivals Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Gee...
I don't think I really have one. If anyone feels I'm an arch nemesis, could you let me know?

Thanks.

Response to: Anarchists Suck. Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

It's true. Anarchy can't work. There are always too many weak people who depend on the government to protect them, and besides, the natural tendency of humans sticking together will end up with some kind of government forming.

First off-
Why is this here? Get confused on your way to Gen.?

Second-
No.

Response to: Public Domain Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

I've been wondering about the 75 year thing for Disney. It's nice to see someone tackling it.

Anywho-
I think that Disney should be able to retain the rights, as long as it's kept within the family of the original creator. When they die out, I think it should become public domain, or if it's within the 75 yrs., whomever they leave it to.

Response to: Copyright and Flash movies Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Damn... I was going to post the exact law, but by the time I found it, Freak had already done so, because my computer crashed, and when I came back on, she had already posted... blah blah blah...

Oh well. Maybe next time.

Response to: Rightist economic ideas Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

DAmn, that was confusing... I though I had posted here because it has the same thread title...

but anyway...

Ownership of things- a very philosophical topic. I'm inclined to agree with the "bozo hermit" theory posted earlier, but there are things that should belong to everybody that are claimed also, like Jerusalem, for example. It gets trick arguing over what people own. Just look at all the frivolous lawsuits in the US.

Response to: Iraq Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Yes, I think they should have, and I don't think it's ALL about the oil.

It certainly plays a big part, though.

Response to: true rightist economic ideas Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Damn.

There really isn't much here I can say that hasn't been said, so I'll say this.

America has long been about "Gab all you can and fuck the other guy". Sure, Capitalism, like all other economic ideals, has it's faults and benefits, but as of yet, is there something that exists that can factor in the human element? Communism doesn't work, because people don't want to work extra hard if there's no benefit.

Response to: Think about Iraq like this... Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

The thought of Saddam being the root of all this evil is a bit silly. If you kill Saddam, somebody just fills his place. There might be an even crazier guy around the corner just WAITING for an opputunity to push the big red button.

Interesting thread.

Response to: 2-3 BILLION Against War!!! Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Where do these stats come from? How exactly does one go trudging through the woods looking for people to ask about two leaders they probably haven't heard of and whether or not they should participate in a war they've also never heard about?

Interesting though, if one could track these folks down, lay out the entire history for them, and then ask them their thoughts.

Response to: Britain going it alone? Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

What's Blair really trying to do? Is this rally really going to have any effect? Doesn't Britain have a single dentist? There are a host of IMPORTANT questions Blair needs to address, don't you think?

Response to: Bush vs. Saddam Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

I think they should just get together and have a drinking contest. Whoever wins leaves the other one alone. If Saddam doesn't, we can assassinate Saddam with our special forces, and if Bush doesn't, Saddam can do whatever he wants to stop him (which pretty much means whats happening now, but Bush doesn't break treaties, so, it wouldn't really be an issue.)

Whatever.

Response to: Bin Laden, Omar still alive Posted February 26th, 2003 in Politics

Plenty of people speculate Osama's still alive, and plenty that he's already dead. It'll be hard to kill him, though. One man aided by millions to escape through an intricate network of tunnels has to be difficult, even if you are the Special Forces.

Another thing-

This "Fair and Open Debate" would probably be chock full of spammers, assholes who insult needlessly without facts, and off-topic strayers like those folks who post stuff like "STFU N00bs. Who's the cutest NG Girl?" without mods to cut it back.
