Ah the credit card. I love mine. For one very good reason, it is connected to my parents not me. So they pay!!! Buy something that may be useful to you.

Beatles used a lot of things, and in my eyes I always see the Rickenbackers.

I always see the horrid Hofner Beatle bass, Harrison's Gretsch and John's Epi Casino.

And also the guy from Twisted Sister (Not the one with the scary face, but the guitarist) uses Epi Les Paul's exclusively as well. And his Epi's rock as they are bright pink. And a shitload of others use Epi's as they are cheap yet quality instruments. The only advantage a Gibson has over an Epi is the name. I am actually considering an Epi hollowbody as my next guitar.

I have meet a few, but often they are not the right kind of weird for me. I can be quite particular on weird that I like and weird that just makes me want to scream and run away.

As do I. Never has a more pointless war been fought. It makes the war in Iraq seem like a smart idea sometimes. Does it really fucking matter what console one has? It is still only an expensive box no matter what is on the front, yet unfortunatly people seem to talk about them more than any kind of intelligent discussion.

That's what I thought most people would say, how often is there a thread your interested in though? I can never find any :p

Not very often. I find that I often end up posting several times in one particular thread. If I only post once in a thread that is often because I have something to say but don't really care that much about it.

I know I revisit every thread I post in, but that's easy seeing as I barely post.

I often check back in threads that I have been having an interesting discussion in or have some sort of inclination to read again.

I would suggest stopping production of the movie, no movie series has successfully made a third sequel that didn't suck, save for two: Lord of the Rings, and The Godfather (and even then, the third godfather movie wasn't as good as the other two)

Die Hard with a Vengance was a reasonable movie. As was Leathal Weapon 3 it was Lethal Weapon 4 that sucked.

I think its more of a case that they're very good for customising.
Cause all the variety of tones comes from different pickup configurations and neck profiles and such.

Yeah but 9 times out of 10 you can still tell it is a Strat. I mean they sound slightly different I mean Hot rails, classic single coils or lace sensors. And Maple or Rosewood fretboards etc etc but there is a Strat sound that can be played with for millenia and still sound something like a Strat.

Like, Yngwie Malmsteen doesn't have the same strat as the guy from the Arctic Monkeys does he?

Maybe not mechanically but they still have that Leo Fender escence that he put into everything he designed. It has the soul of Fender.

Get an Ipod or Zune so you can view the album art and scan the pages of the booklet, the CD art, and hell even the jewel case if you care that much and then save it to the ipod or Zune. Viola! Virtual album complete with artwork.

I lost my iPod. I spent my money on Cd's and getting to Germany. I cannot afford a new one at this point and time, and the album is not the same on a small screen. It must be bigger!!!!

Do you mean Yardbird as in Charlie Parker? Or is their a band with the same name?

Basically Led Zep before Led Zep. It was the band that made Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page well known. In fact Led Zep were originally going to be called The New Yardbirds

I pretty much worship Charlie Parker, so that's what popped into my head.

Charlie was a great saxman. I have a love for jazz from my father.

My point is that it all depends on the set up.
I personally think that the best tone belongs to either Vai, Petrucci or Akerfeldt/Lindgren.... and none of them use Strats.

I say Andy Summers from The Police actually does. He finds the right tone for everything he does. But then most of the time he used the single most kick ass Tele ever with a Gibson Humbucker in the neck and a Pre amp.

Of course, its all about opinion.
And so claiming that 'strats give the best tone' is a very inaccurate thing to say.

Of course. I don't think they give the best, but they do give one of the most varied according to me and a friend of my dads who has owned guitars that give people orgasms just thinking about. 1970's Les Paul custom or Gibson ES-175 or Ibanez GB-10 or Fender Strat Plus anyone?

I consider the term collector slightly cold. I consider myself a genuine music buff.

Yeah, I can imagine that it would be painful to be away from your collection. I haven't really left mine, not having been on vacation since 1998.

It is. I miss the three organised to detail racks. It is Alphabetical order of band or artist's last name, then it goes in order of relese date Eg: It goes at one point Pink Floyd's the Final Cut to The Police Outlandos De Amour the Reggata De Blanca.

Still, you'll be back with them within a month. :D

No I won't. I still have 1 and a half months to go!!
