I have those often. I find sitting down with my guitar or something alone for the evening very enjoyable. And it is better for the wallet.

How long was the essay because if it was more than 2500 words your brother needs to die. Having ones hard work destroyed is not good.

I use bins. Lets call it rocket science.

Yes, some people use bins, but many still just throw them out at random and destroy the cleanlyness for others to enjoy.

Although, there used to be alot more bins on the streets before these terrorists arrived. So I blame them for that.

Those terrorists, they have no care for our environment. Bastards.

Well we are not kind enough to give them what they want. So they will take away what we have to try and force us.

In short give them terrorists what they want so people can throw away their ciggarette butts.

Response to: Smoking Ban! Posted March 25th, 2007 in General

I cannot see the logic in that, even as being someone who loaths smoking. I mean I can understand if it is a ban on smoking in public indoor places, but outdoors is just stupid. But I suppose the littering of ciggarette butts is a major problem.

Why are you even contemplating anything else? Gretsch + Bigsby = ultimate rock and roll.

True, true. Then the question is
White Falcon or Chet Atkins Nashville in orange?

Of course, you could always go for an ES-335, or an Epiphone Casino...but I'd personally go with the Gretsch ;D

Well yeah. I want this guitar to be the one to last me for most of my life. I want to have something to hand down in the family along with my old man's Maton.

I know that exact same feeling. The worst ones are the ones that only know the really common and popular stuff when there was far better yet less popular shit out there.

Reactions to your music Posted March 24th, 2007 in General

How do other people react when they see your music collection? Do they react in a joyful way, are they scared or whatever.

For me it is a mixture of "Oh sweet you have that", "Who are they?" and "Oh my god! How fucking horrid!" on the same person. Often the react in glee at my The Clash, Frank Zappa and some other stuff and are horrified by my T.Rex, Twisted Sister and Foreigner stuff.

Well I would say either "Friday I'm in Love" or "10:15 on a Saturday Night".

But they do a mean cover of "Foxy Lady" as well.

I'll give you a hint. It's a Kramer Baretta.

Guess who has one sitting on his bed?

Me.

Well that isn't good enough. It should be in one's hands making some noise and pissing off the neighbours.

Anyway. I just remembered in less than a few years I will come across more than a bit of money, definatly a fair amount, and I have decided to allocate a bit to getting a really nice guitar for my rock and roll loving ways. Now I need some ideas of what. I was thinking a nice, big, orange (or white) Gretsch with a Bigsby as to be a little different, but I think I need to make a list of other guitars to contemplate, that is where you may be able to help me. Ideas?

Response to: Cricket World Cup: Who will win.? Posted March 23rd, 2007 in General

I will say South Africa. They have been playing reasonably well, have not had any major hiccups and have a deserved No 1 ranking at the moment.

But this world cup will not be remembered for whoever wins it, it will be remembered as the world cup where the Pakistan coach got owned by someone who didn't like him.

Response to: Why do kids think old music is cool Posted March 19th, 2007 in General

Well you see I listen to it because I like it and my parents brought me up on a lot of it and I went on from there. And dear old Guns and Roses had there heyday well before Nirvana, even though neither are particularly good. The best stuff is often the less remembered stuff.

At 3/17/07 04:31 AM, positively-negative wrote: Meh. I still pefer to buy CDs and shit like that. Call me old fashioned but I still like the feel of owning the album on something physical.
Don't you like to save money? For the price of one single CD ($14.99) you can get as many songs as you can download within 30 days. Think about it

I had Zune Marketplace for 1 month and I got about 3000 songs during that time. The download speeds are very fast (depending on your connection), my average was about 1500 kbp/s. Thats 1.5 megabytes a second... meaning a whole song in 2-3 seconds. On the very first day got probably $200 worth of songs if I had bought CD's instead!

Isn't that appealing to you at all?

But seeing that most of the music I have has been found in bargin bins for $2-3, Most of it is really good stuff. And I like randomly picking up a CD that looks interesting and buying it for the hell of it as well as serching many a music store for specific stuff. And then I can place it in my collection that I can say I worked hard to create, I didn't just click a mouse. And I have money to spend on it anyway. And anyway, many of the CDs are by local bands that don't have record contracts who make their CDs and I couldn't get it on the internet.

And if you are as you as fixated on having a 'physical' thing like a CD, you can always burn the files to a disc... And then you can even add the fancy decoration to the top with those little kits if thats your deal.

Even though the DRM encryption crap is on some of the files you download from Zune Marketplace, it's very easy to bypass.

You could get thousands of dollars worth of music for $14.99 a month... the price of 1 CD.

How could that possibly not appeal to someone?

But it still isn't the proper album, the way it was pressed, it is something that many of you will not understand but an album is more than the music on it, it is also the nicely done cover, inside booklet and the other stuff as well. Albums alone are as much a form of art as the music itself. And one just can't replicate the magic of an original, I mean is a fake Mona Lisa as desirable as the real thing?
