Let's just kill everyone we don't like, or suspect of committing crimes.

It's not like they could be or are productive members of society. And even if they were, who needs that?

Response to: Student Loan Scandal Posted April 21st, 2007 in Politics

As it stands, the educational financing system is deeply rooted in problems; student loan scandals are just a grain of sand in the desert. Other issues like preferential treatment for people by race is blatantly flaunted in post-secondary applications for monetary backing. The system is rife with arbitrary and inane stipulations that stifle potential scholars and perpetuate many bound for failure. The system is flawed, and they've violated students financially long before now, so much so that it makes student loan scandals insignificant.

It's outrageous that they allow themselves to be biased and bought off, yes, but it's worse than that underneath, and nobody seems comparatively concerned with the real issues. It sickens me far more that they openly award financial assistance specific to certain races and women, and then have the audacity to call themselves equal-rights proponents.

It's basically a replacement for a period; it separates two independent clauses, usually related to one-and-other.

C WUT I DID THAR LULZ

It can also replace commas in the case that a series contains internal punctuation.

Ah, I can see stuff like sound engineering and business, but I would chalk the whole teaching-and-playing-music thing to be perfectly doable without a 3 or 4 year uni degree for it.

What exactly is a bachelor of music degree good for, anyways? It's on this uni application I'm doing, and I can't think of any real, practical application for it that you couldn't do without it.

I first heard about this from a link to a CNN article from TheOnion.com. I interrupted what satirical article I was reading to read over what happened in the shooting; afterwards, I couldn't stand the thought of reading anymore satire from TheOnion, or any other source. This was a tragedy, and the victims here did not end at those who were killed and injured senselessly, but the family and friends of those souls. To consider this massacre in any light sense is criminal, regardless of motivation for cheap attention, or false gratification in upsetting others.

I hope the injured and effected are resilient in the lives they have left in themselves and around them, but not without remembering those lost, and pondering lessons gained. In a perfect world, shootings would never happen, and the day when we have a perfect world is what we all strive towards. We still have a long way to go until that day, though.

We need a wider geographic spread of people, imho. We could pull off 24 hours of live DJ's constantly if we had more DJ's from Europe/the-Eastern-Hemisphere.

Also, if anyone from NG decides to sign up for DJing, remember that it's for fun, not some professional DJing gig, so don't worry about audience size or other aspects which seem to put people off of DJing for Internet radio.

As for who IS the most hated, I think talking about it is pointless and inane. I'm too tired to not take everything seriously right now, though.

On a completely unrelated note, I just got back from three days at my Dad's house (in a different city). I missed my music and Internet, but I'm a bit tired from having only slept a few hours last night. I'll probably feel more awake after I get me some food.

Fucking... Jesus, DoM/shake.

Anyways, just as an fyi, you can tune into the station from here, directly; or you can go to the site DJ section. Sign-ups for DJing are held in the music forum (you'll need to make an MMJ account), and it's all a pretty clear process. If anyone has questions, please ask them.

Well, I'd imagine the point of this thought experiment is just that: discussion of the reasoning behind punishment. I'd only be repeating myself if I reiterated my view that politics should favour positive consequences, and not just appeal to human emotions and urges, so there's not much else for me to say.

Kudos to Elfer, though, for creating a fascinating, thought-provoking thread.

So if I go and kill someone and prove I will not do it again, I should go unpunished?

WTF?!

Like I meant to convey in the "and of course, this doesn't happen in reality part," you could never prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you would never wrong again in reality; so in our world, no, you should be punished. However, in this case study world, it can only burden society to punish him.
