Maybe it wasn't the coke. :o

It seems like no matter what I do, I can never get any coke drink to taste anywhere near as good as it does when it comes out of a fast food soda fountain and poured over crushed ice. I know they don't always get said product in the finished form, but... damn.
I don't think they ever get it in finished form for fountains. But I think they get special syrups made specifically for fountains, or just mix it thicker. Either way, I prefer the canned/bottled stuff.
I would think diet coke gives you headaches because they replace the sugar with equally nasty or worse shit. When I worked at a fast food place last summer, I recall reading the back of a place mat out of boredom and noticing that diet coke has an insane amount of salt, but Google searches say other. Either way, "moderation" is the word-of-the-day with nutrition.
Oh, and don't drink Frutopia. Ever.

At 5/25/07 07:45 PM, stafffighter wrote: If none of the margins are wide I say go for the relaiable one. If the difference in gas milage was wider there would be more of a question. WHen the fuck did we all become grown ups?
Well, all 3 models are within about 2-3 MPG in total, so it's not a huge difference, especially considering that every individual vehicle can differ from the norm. I guess it all comes down to which car is the best quality, which I can only check by actually physically going and looking at them, which is a hassle. Oh well. Thanks for the advice. If the Lumina ties with another car in quality, I'll favour it (assuming it's the 3.1L V6, and not the 3.8L... argh).

So basically, your car needs a new car?

Blah, I'm currently in a car situation of my own. I intend on buying something decent that'll last me the next couple years, and I have the list narrowed down (from about potential 50 vehicles) to 5, and now 2 definite options, 2 that I still can't get a hold of the owner for, and 1 that I know is sold. My options include 3 different models, those being:
One 1995 Chyrsler Sebring XLi (Confirmed)
Two 1996/1997 Grand AM SE's (One confirmed, one unconfirmed)
One 1998 Chevrolet Lumina (Unconfirmed)
All the mileage ranges are very close to one-and-other, as are prices. I've asked a few people this already, but does anyone have any great wisdom to bestow upon me about this, before I run out and start test driving, etc.? I've read quite a few reviews, and right now it seems the Sebring is first in sexiness, the Grand AM in gas mileage, and the Lumina in reliability, but none by a significant margin.

And just fyi: Most types of internet chat have an IP mask system that everyone can see.

I'd hate to bait anybody into an argument on sacred grounds (namely, in the lounge), but they could counter with something about "evil" being subjective.
As for whether anybody on this forum is mature enough to carry on a well informed debate about religion: there are a couple users who are capable, and have done so in the past, but it would be ruined by certain trolls all too swiftly. Also, the majority of posters here aren't regulars, just misinformed kids straight out of the General forum, looking to show off how "smart" they are.

Humour wears down. I used to find a few trolls on this board funny, but after the umpteenth time they've said something unimaginably stupid, you loose interest. You can only laugh at a freak-show for so long before you begin to feel bad.
I agree with you on how ignoring something can only last for so long, but like I said, that's part of the deal. Besides, people do it anyway with things that aren't considered bannable...
The rules that are in place are meant to appeal to the widest audience. Mods aren't a 100% accurate system, and we could never expect them to be, but they're worlds better than tolerating those who will eventually drive away the brunt of the userbase for a forum.

It's called "hiding in the lounge." Welcome.
Every so often there's a decent topic somewhere around here - but that only occurs about once a month, and it usually sinks into the abyss pretty fast. Personally, I get a headache when I read some of the topics here.
Any who, Shrek 1 - 2 was decent; they all had there highlights and there flaws. I think I'll wait until Shrek the Third comes out on DVD or download it rather than see it in theatres.
The first one was the best. I dislike sequels.
Wow. 2000 pages. That's like, a milestone, or something. And now we get to carry to 2001 with "Huzzah!" posts. Sweet deal.
Fun fact: Ostensibly, 90% of NG users were born in the year 2000.

The whole point of moderating a forum is to make it clean and attractive for users to post in. While it's easy to ignore some idiot for a short period of time, it can wear away on people, and eventually cause many to leave the site out of frustration. That's when a slippery slope of brain drain occurs and dooms that forum to failure. His small forum might function satisfactorily under the principle of self government, because the smaller community can expunge idiots purely by social pressure, larger forums don't have that ability because idiots will find someone to validate them, sheerly by probability.
People go to forums for a return of entertainment or satisfaction of some kind, not to tolerate idiots. Why would anybody want that?

Funny, 'cause the only music I like 'cept for The Final Countdown is modern.
Radiogrounds is a shoutcast-run operation, so nothing will change. It'll have the same change in matters that the RIAA movement into piracy has made on the Internet piracy scene, ie none. The only stations that'll effect is legitimate ones like Pandora, which is a shame.
It occurred to me that if every band was as good as Pink Floyd in their own respect, the world would be myriad times better. Why can't I find modern music this good...

An essay on Penis
Think back to the first time you ever heard of Penis. Many an afternoon has been enjoyed by a family, bonding over the discussion of Penis. Until recently considered taboo amongst polite society, there are just not enough blues songs written about Penis. The juxtapositioning of Penis with fundamental economic, social and political strategic conflict draws criticism from the easily lead, who are yet to grow accustomed to its disombobulating nature. With the primary aim of demonstrating my considerable intellect I will now demonstrate the complexity of the many faceted issue that is Penis.
Social Factors
There is cultural and institutional interdependence between members of any community. When Sir Bernard Chivilary said 'hounds will feast on society' [1] he failed to understand that if one seriously intends to 'not judge a book by its cover', then one must read a lot of books. Much has been said about the influence of the media on Penis. Observers claim it provides standards by which we may judge our selves.
Some analysts have been tempted to disregard Penis. I haven't. Just as a dog will return to its own sick, society will return to Penis, again and again.
Economic Factors
The preceding section may have shed some light on society but to really understand man you must know how he spends his money. We will study the Spanish-Armada model of economics.
[chart (posted below)]
Indisputably there is a link. How can this be explained? Of course housing prices will eventually break free from the powerful influence of Penis, but not before we see a standardised commercial policy for all. Strong fluctuations in investor confidence have been seen over the past two financial years.
Political Factors
Politics has in some areas been seen to embrace an increasing ananiathesis of intergovernmentalism leading to neo-functionalism. Comparing Penis and much of what has been written of it can be like comparing Penisilisation, as it's become known, and one's own sense of morality.
To quote a legend in their own life time, Francis Skank 'I don't believe in ghosts, but I do believe in democracy.' [2] He was first introduced to Penis by his mother. It would be wise to approach the subject with the thought that 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'. However this can lead to missing out important facts.
One of the great ironies of this age is Penis. Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
Conclusion
In my opinion Penis plays a large part in the lives of all. It fills a hole, influences the influencers, and is always fashionably late.
Let's finish with a thought from star Stevie Kournikova: 'Oooh yeah Penis shoo badaby dooo.' [3]

I've officially changed my definition of "troll" and "alt" to include people who are just so stupid and/or ignorant that it makes you want to flame them. Or maybe they need an entirely different third name, like "fuckwit," but more unique to the Internet, to befit a problem posed only on Internet political forums.

On a completely unrelated note, I added about 300 songs to my music library today, and I plan on maintaining that rate for the next couple weeks. I'm very happy about this. :)
Now my next hurdle is figuring out how to tag and edit the playlist fast enough.
At 5/5/07 01:44 AM, SolInvictus wrote: what the hell?
Dude, he's an alt. Don't argue with trolls. Ever. We all know they're idiots, and nobody will think less of you.
On a related note, I can't help but notice all of the trolls on this forum that have come to light over the last few months. I seriously think mods should be given the ability to ban for much longer than 30 days - just to deal with these assholes.
Or maybe they aren't being banned at all, and the trolls are actually mod alts meant to fuck with us. OH MY GOD GEORGE BUSH IS BEHIND IT ALL.

It's very different to many people. Especially as of late for Mexicans and their American offspring.
I actually did wiki it before opening my big e-mouth, hence the "Damn pinkos" line. You people think too little of me. The question was rhetorical to act as a vehicle for the "I didn't get the day off" message hidden deep within, so as to seem like I'm not bitching about it.

It isn't a very popular stance with Americans. But I still support it. Mostly because I'm 1st generation American whose parents were illegals. It's a cultural thing for me.
Aye, I'd heard about the "Day Without an Immigrant" protest last year, and thought it would either completely burn the anti-immigration movement or confirm what they've been spouting all this time. But I digress into politics, and I'd hate to get into that in the lounge.
