Assuming that we know all about genetics. I believe that nature and nurture affect a person. Difference is still possible, but not as drastic. For example, skin color isn't a trait that can be perfected. There will always be white and black people (and others)

Mozart may have been a great composer, but he was also a drunkard and died young. Also, as the genetic pool becomes less diverse, random mutations become more common. More often than not these mutations create problems rather than anything beneficial, such as mental retardation. Whoops!
Assuming we know how to take the composing gene only, not the others. Same goes for mathematic intelligence or baseketball ability.

What is wrong a genetically perfect human race?
For example: If one could seize control of the American military, one could initiate a draft and invade all of North and South America. Thier citizens would be enslaved, to produce fuel for America's war machine. America can continue to invade the rest of the world, using nuclear warfare when neccessary.
With the world under the control of an emperor, genetic plants would be built. The genes that let Michael Jordan play basketball, that let Mozart compose music, and other "ultimate" genes could be combined to form 2 perfect humans.
At this point, everyone other than the perfect humans would be killed. The emperor and his aides would see the perfect humans to America and leave them there. They would fly back to the mass graves and commit suicide.
Now, I know that the whole "hostile takeover" thing needs work, but try to ignore that. What's wrong with a perfect human race? A race that would continue to live forever, even after the sun burns out? A superior human race...
