my new m-audio oxygen 61 arrived today, the keys work fine and everything, but the knobs and sliders irritate me as hell when i try to move them. i know how i must assign a knob or slider to a knob in fl studio or vst, but when i turn the sliders or knobs up or down, the knobs in the vst/fl just slide up clockwise no matter either i slide the sliders/knobs up or down, the knobs/sliders on my keyboard and the knobs in the vst/fl are not moving at the same spot. is that actually normal else please help me fix this.

Topic: Garageband?

Posted: 08/18/09 02:17 PM

Forum: Audio

Yes, you can use garageband to arrange selfmade loops - however it won't be necessary with most programs you make them in because they mostly have sequencers build in.. Still, it depends on what you mean with making the loops yourself. if you mean copy and pasting a part of a copyrighted song, then no you can't. not even in a more common used program like fl studio or cubase. You CAN try the demo of fruity loops, download free synths like superwavep8 or refx claw (just google them) and record a melody playing on a typing keyboard. (if your gonna do that, click on the typing keyboard icon top right)
Note: even if the song isn't copyrighted, or your using 100% royalty free loops i still don't recommend loops, they mostly still ban you from the audio portal.
Good luck.

you know what helps? right after you submitted your song, vote 5 and for the next minute you will be on the first place of the genre, people look up that genre for the best songs of that genre and then they find your song on number 1. Epic win.

2 tips:

-Pencil is free, so try it. pencil website
If you choose to pirate flash which i in no way want you to do, don't use sprites.
or use sprites with an other program.

Topic: character select

Posted: 07/04/09 06:40 AM

Forum: Flash

Well, the most easy is: make a frame and draw a character select layout. make (as many as you want)
icons of each player, and make a button of each icon. on every button put this code:

//On the gotoAndStop Event do whatever frame the clicked character's first level in.
on (release){
gotoAndStop();
}

Then make as many frames as there are characters for each level.
And you got character select.

It's called walkcycle. there is no code or something that makes it walk. ( just to let you know )
Just look at walking people and look how they walk step by step. then draw all stages of walking in a seperate frame and you got your walkcycle. or look here:

So your saying using loops is ok? I don't get it all the time people shouting about loops is bad and stuff. know i mention it and people think it's alright. srs peepl. this means whole audio portal is unproffesional except me. muhahahahahahaa.
however i think those superfast drum and bass drumloops are ok to use, but not proffesional.
or how the heck you write proffesional.

so i went on youtube the other day and i was just checking out the features of ableton live as i get it with a midi keyboard im considering to buy. then i bumped into a tutorial which said was totally proffesional and stuff. i watched it, and all he did was dragged loops to the playlist and said. ye this sounds good. nah this ones better. and all the comments were mostly something like: Thanks man helped a lot. and then i commented: dude, loops aren't proffesional. there 100% unproffesional you didn't make something at all. i got 2 reactions: it is proffesional most people use loops. (???) i ignored him. then some guy was pissed off. he said: so basshunter one of the biggest techno names of this century (by the way i hate him)
is "unprofessional"
jean micheal jarre THE BIGGEST NAME IN TECHNO is unprofessional go read a fucking book

???? does basshunter use loops? and jean micheal jarre (don't know him) uses loops?
DO I HAVE TO READ A BOOK??? ARGH!

You can get it free for 30 days or download Pivot: a free stickman animation program.

dude pivot is way too easy. It's not how you animate in flash.
try pencil.LINK
Also stickmen submissions mostly get blammed. mostly.

That's why i like it.
That thing looks very difficult to play on and very limiting.
playing the nanokey is a sport.
I would say don't even consider the nanokey.
But it's so cheap and awesome!
The other two look like good midi controllers, they certainly have a lot of knobs and wheels ;) The downside though is they're still only 2 octaves.
Yeah. don't really need teh knobs though. nanokey has CC mode. press on teh button and every key is a control. Oxygen is also cheap (kinda. where i buy it it's EU82,50), and it has knobs which i like. also it looks pretty light-weight, and 2 octaves is enough for me. you also got pitch up and down.
nanokey has 4 octaves though, it has a octave up and octave down button.

So the question is, what do you want?

I think it's gonna be a nanokey.
