There is a game I am making now that I wouldn't be making had AG said they wouldn't sponsor it, but since they did I continue. That'd be an example of when you do. You don't NEED money to make games, but it makes it a lot easier!

Ok, I understand that you wouldnt extra-work on a game if you weren't paid for it, but i think you should better say that you get paid for your work, or motivated with sponsors, but they may only make it psicologically easier, since the bill isnt going to sit down and write a code for you.

Gas for the car? you dont need money to make a game, unless you need to buy flash or something, people who cannot make a game without being payed for it are heartless ambicious bastards, i dont know if i'm worng, but if you know how to program you can make a game without being paid.

If I had to chose who deserves the coauthor more, it'll be scenario 1, since he at least helped, but scenario 2 is paying for the propaganda, and have the coauthor show the name more. Now that I think about it, the sponsor already has its logo at the beggining of the game, which makes fool people think he did it. Scenario 1 has more right over the coauthor than scenario 2.

What they did to Neg was totally unfair, in my opinion, the coder is the one who makes the game.. i find getting credit for something you didnt do like a lack of dignity.. but well..

Experience
I dont like how pimp can raise the experience needed.. I wonder, he is just about 3000 experience points away from 30000 points.. that is, the last secret.. the one Tom never tought he'd have to hang out. According to the NgLog.. he'll have them by march next year.. so Tom needs to hang out the redesign before then or he'll have to give him the last secret.

Rubber is godlike material! It is resistent to electricity, heat makes it more elastic and it cant be easily broken. Anyway, I like the fact that there is an explanation to why the main character wins and doesnt die.. rather than just.. being powerful.

I agree Tem, that was totally unfair, i understand that BlackmarketKraig is a new mod and stuff, but it is just a matter of thinking out of the square, that people here only post visual art, it doesnt mean that the forum is exclusively of visual art, writing is a form of art too, and posting a picture of what he worte ruins the whole charm of it, of imaginig what happened.
People post stories in general because there was no art forum, that doesnt mean writing goes to general, half the replys he would get in general would be useless spam, anyway.
Why does he have to act as everybody else if it isnt against the rules?

but if you look at it from a common sense point of view, and by the fact that everyone else seems to believe its for visual arts, the forum is pretty much for visual art.

People use it for visual art, but it doesn't mean it was made for visual art, there are no rules against posting written art.

if, for example, the art forum became totally spammy and retarded, would it be fair for us to put our art stuff in, say, the flash forum? or the general forum? I dont think so.

Where does it says 'stories go to general', people post them in general because they dont fit in any other forum, are there used to not be an art forum.

If all else fails, he can post his stuff on deviantART like many other people do.

yeah, but he wanted newgrounds people to see it, not DA people.

Because the kind of visual art we get in here the majority of the time is complete and udder CRAP.

Agree. If more people posted their written art in here, maybe it wouldnt be a more interesting forum, because most threads are crap.

crazerfish50

stfu noob!

sorry I just had to.

btw, Temariix is a girl.

BoogieWookie didn't broke a rule, he just did something different.
Well, except when he posted the picture, but I guess it was because he was pissed off.

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO PUT YOUR POETRY IN THE ART FORUM, SIMPLY DRAW A PICTURE OF THE WRITING! THAT WAY, THE TYPOGRAPHY COUNTS AS ART.

Poetry is Art itself, there is no point in posting a picture just because everyone else thinks so. The picture would ruin the piece itself.
the fact is this is this.

This forum is intended for ART, as in drawings or visual representations...

Poetry is art, it doesnt say anywhere it is a motive of locking.

i mean, think of it like this... this is a flash site. period. it`s not DeviantArt, or MySpace.

Yes it is intended for flash, and i wouldnt liek newgrounds becoming a myspace, but the guy just did something different, he wasnt spamming, he wasnt breaking rules, that everyone posts stories in general it doesnt mean general is ofr story posting, if the rules dont state it.

and saying " poetry is art and the rules don't clearly say what kind of art is admitted" is a cheap way to try and smartass yourself around them, that`s why Kraig locked the thread.

If you see BMK's post he said this forum is for visual art and he should go to general, he locked it for 'wrong forum' not 'smartass around the rules'

But what does that really prove? I mean, yeah, it would be great, but after it reached 2 or 3 pages, new people would stop looking at it and new writings would go unnoticed and uncritiqued.

Really, imagine a thread that has 100 pages, people who posted in page 50 will get 1 or 2 replys and their worl would be lost.

People come to the art forum to look at and submit illustrations, and not literature. It's difficult to decide whether something is a well thought out story, as opposed to someone sitting down at a PC and randomly hammering out words.

Well, people can decide which thread to see right? I dont read much literature either, but this situation is clearly unfair. It's like saying "Most people are lazy, dont give them much work". If someone is interested, they will read.

I think we've been through this before, and decided that this simply does not belong in Art Forum. Not because it's no art, it's just to keep General posters away.

General posters are supposed to come here looking for stories?
Anyway, a lot of people go to general to be asses there, and post maturily in other forums.

I'm sick of seeing stuff that people say, "Oh I was bored so I got out my ms paint for 5 minutes, isnt this amazing?!"

Most threads in here are the same, allowing literature would make the forum have more art variety.

It was never expected that the forum become a showcase for prose or poetry as all of the rules address visual art and conduct.

True. I wasnt expected, because most people dont write, and Newgrounds is a flash comunity, but as the situation changes, rules need to be adapted.

Maybe the other mods have a different view than myself about what should and should not be posted here. I used my own judgement on locking that thread, I thought it was an obvious lock and that any mod would have done the same.

Maybe, but If I were mod, I would lock it because of the flame war, and not because of what the guy posted itself.

I guess this is just a situation of rules made up by the comunity itself, and not about the written norms. Somebody who runs the forum should make things clear.

I hate poetry, but i think the lock was unfair.
