Im fed up with bands releasing albums that have silent tracks. Whats the bloody point? I buy albums to be entertained by the band i don't buy albums to listen to the band standing in a studio doing nothing! I cant for the life of me understand why they do it. Is it because they like the fact they get paid to do it? Are they saying to the listener "I can stand here and do fuck all and still make millions"? Or is it to show how deep and artistic they are? "We're so talented we don't have to play music to express ourselves we do it through the power of silence"
A perfect example is Korn's Follow The Leader album which boasts a whooping thirteen silent tracks THIRTEEN! So here's my message to the bands out there recording silent tracks...You are gifted with musical talent that millions of people worldwide pay money to experience. They pay there hard earned money to be entertained by your music NOT by you standing around doing nothing! Use your talent or lose your fans simple as that!
