I've missed this for as long as it has existed...A writing contest on newgrounds!!!? I'll probably jump in here eventually, just found out about this, so not sure if I'll get in on this one, but the idea is already forming.....I don't even care about the contest bit, but its a good excuse to force me to start writing again....A random prompt every once in a while could easily get the creative juices flowing again.....Soooooooo happy this is here

Does anybody remember that strange moment when it was YOUR vote that finalized the Blamming or Protection of a flash, and out of nowhere as soon as you voted an animation popped up showing a little flash guy going heaven or hellword?

Its been long enough since I've seen one...and they were always a super rare occasion.....so much so that I'm not sure if they were real or a dream. Also with things like the whistle down I'm not sure they'd still be up.

So does anyone remember these.....and do they still exist? Just curious.

Ok, I haven't programmed anything since I was a kid(using Basic). Things have progressed so far that starting out again I'm lost. I'm using stencyl until I relearn the basic order of things. So sorry if this is a stupid question.

All I'm looking for right now is a way to use an actor as a rivet. I'm trying to take one primary actor and stick it in place using two or three tinier secondary actors, so that if one of the secondaries is removed the primary actor rotates on the remaining secondaries via the physics engine. Or to add a new secondary(rivet) anchor and keep the primary actor in place.

I'm probably missing something super obvious but its driving me nuts. Any Ideas greatly appreciated.

OK...A: finding out about all the blind voting makes me want to cry. B: Here's an Idea I haven't seen yet: as of right now a vote of zero equals 0 and you just have to pass a certain threshold of points per vote to be protected. Yet still alot of crap gets through.....even a vote of one(which seems like it should be blammable) actually helps things get through.......so what if a vote of zero gave the flash a score of -10 and one would be -5 let a vote of 2(which is the I'll accept it because I can't get rid of it vote) be zero...and then 3,4,5 can give a flash actual points.
So the idea is Give a Blam vote some power....don't let it be a vote that says this doesn't deserve to be voted on....give a "Fuck this bullshit" vote some weight.
Am I missing something here?
I know its "everything by everyone" but now we are at the point where we are Really dealing with what were the problems of the future....now they are the problems of today

In my current situation I play about twenty flash games a day..(unless I get hooked on one or two of them) but some of them shouldn't count because they are the same ten lines of code blammable.....yet since none will blam anything they still make it...and since I sort of enjoy the fact that ng is a game itself its hard to blam them because none else will.....even though it obvious they won't get any hype...they'll just hide in some corner of newgrounds....... flash limbo.....kill them and give them peace

it is limited to ten points a day....vote on ten and you're done....but I like to vote on twenty per day....it might increase voting power with blam/protection points....but whats the point if everything is protected unless it should be a whistle blow?

So I've been away from NG for a few years..... I remember the early days when I thought it was just Pico and FDA.....a few years later(at least 3) I got into actually voting in the portal. I railed against clocks for a while during that era....eventually I realized those aren't going away......Now days(4 or 8 years later) I've come back to NG so I have some games to play while my PS3 is being "fixed"(may never happen)...but to the point...Looking at the obituaries for the past few weeks it seems like everything passes...I like to be forgiving...but when its just the same thing over and over we all click "nothing new or interesting" and that's for pixels that don't function how they should...I admit I haven't seen the movies for a while....and I doubt i'd enjoy the humor of most anymore ....but compiling movies and games only five or six items get blammed every day!!!!MAX!!!! I know we're here to encourage people and some who make crap can make gold...why do we let it all get through? We never see two star things here again...and neither does anyone else...so why is it here?The NG community has gone soft......so have I......When its crap...lets give them some constructive ideas(so they can work on it and come back) and then blam the crap out of it....Like I said I haven't been here in a while......am I missing something? or has the standard for protect/balm changed that significantly?
