I finished making my second scene, trying to figure out how to speed it up due to the many movie clips in the background (The jumping crowd)

If I combine a bunch into 1 single movie clip it breaks the effect of individuality... So I am lost... Any suggestions?

Scene 1 + 2

(Its part of 1 animation, the 2nd scene starts with the dark figure on the cliff)

Response to: Stop when the web page loads Posted July 2nd, 2006 in Game Development

Being thqat you are using Joomla which is generated by MYSql (Or other SQL variante) Its going to be difficult due to various issues...

Client browser may load imagesd slowers
Access to DB may be slower than the last minute
Server may be under load and load slower than normal

Etc etc...

These are alot of outside variables to work

Response to: Stop when the web page loads Posted July 2nd, 2006 in Game Development

I'm using stop(); in actionscript on the last frame of the movie clips animation

I'm still learning the whole shadows thing, I know some of the perspective looks odd, just sunno hwo to fix it yet..

Let me know what you think, suggestions, etc.
Thanks all
I've been drawing shadows on rocks/mountains too recently, and I can say your doing alot better than I am :P
Good job

Thanks!

Alot of trial and error, put about 11 hours into it yesterday, once I got the general idea down, the background mountains took only about 30 mins tho. I *want* to have the button (head) zoom down one of the paths when clicked and into the mountains, but I dont know how to do that yet... Hopefully soon though lol

Response to: Convert Scene To Symbol (help) Posted June 30th, 2006 in Game Development

You guys rock hard... I had some issues at first but it seems to be working now...

You can check out the result at the same link...

Thanks again everyone... Was giving me a headache lol

I have a scene I was building last night, its going to a be a splash page on my site...

After I create the entire BG scene, I had 3 layers, with animation on each layor (Wasnt thinking) Now I am trying to convert the entire scene into a movie symbol, so that the main scene area can be the website functions (With the background anime occuring as a movie clip)

Heres the scene I am talking about...

Main Scene

Is there anyway to copy all three layors with animation intack into ONE symbol?
(Tried to do the copy paste method but it jsut isnt working right, had to redo the anim timeline)

Thanks in advance...

P.S
How the ^&*# do you do stars? manually create each dot? Phew thats a bunch of work lol

Response to: Newground Artist showcase thread Posted June 29th, 2006 in Game Development

Heres what I have so far after your suggestions..
I put some shadows onto the trees, altered the sky (Gradient) and tried messing with the moon (Harder than I thought to do craters properly)...

BG Test #2

I am afraid I do not follow the ariel perspective definition to well though, I need to read up on that subject a bit more than that wiki entry.. A tad confusing lol...

The shadow on the foreground trees needs to be changed on the right hand side, problem is the tree's are dup's so the shadow is copied to each instance, once I create more trees and apply shadow individually it should be better (I am at work tweaking as I get a chance)

Am I on the right path here?

I had tried checking out a couple online free tuts, but I was still missing alot of info... I didnt know how to make anything in any program, and everytime I tried it just wouldnt come out right... I figured wth it's only like $50 for all the ones I wanted...

Plus, in general I only have Linux machines, I now have a G5 and a G4 powerbook, but when I started the only proggy I could get to work was Flash under *Nix....

I am planning on buying the advanced face video's soon as well, still have a loooong ways to go int he learning dept but IM loving it (Takes mind off of work and what not)

Increase balloon size proportionally. Shrink it all a bit.

Look at other comics to see how they fit in text etc.

Thx for the info, I'll try that out... appreciate it...

Response to: Storyboard Layout Posted June 20th, 2006 in Game Development

Um. Nope, nor do I plan too...

You see, I have a career, a MMA gym I run, a MMA site I run, I develop sites for various other MMA organizations, I work in *Nix and Cisco, etc etc etc...

I mean, if this is about "clout" and what not, I give 2 shits as I am A WEEK into re-learning flash.... Putting someone down because of their lack of experience is weak. Specially from a "game" developer.....

Why not help someone improve, rather than show the weak douche that they are....

I am doing this for RELAXATION. Something that takes my mind off of work and fighting...

So in conclusion, I reiterate my original statement , as I *thought* this was a place for learning and not getting flamed by typical wanna be net thugs

Response to: Storyboard Layout Posted June 20th, 2006 in Game Development

Wow, thanks douche, considering I wasn't seeking your opinion on the technicalities of the artwork, I appreciate the feedback, as this is my first ever comic, I will keep in mind how your skills are apparently far superior....

PS. GFY. hard

Storyboard Layout Posted June 20th, 2006 in Game Development

Searched through the forums but didnt get any results...

Is there a default for a storyboard layout?

I just finished my first ever Ecomic but on certain browsers, it is way too large...

If I shrink it though it becomes difficult to read...

here is the site:

Any suggestions?
