What i under stand about time travel is that it is theoretically possible. One of the ways that you may be able to do it is via a worm hole. Making a time machine is very hard it requires insane amount of energy that we are not capable of.
One thing about time travel is you can only travel as far back as when the machine or wormhole were created. Such as if you make a time machine today you could not use it to travel back to 1914. That is how i understand it at least.
Ha this is like right from this histroy channel thing that i watched. Yes those are the top 5 ways that humans could die, but there are other ways that are more unlikely. Some of these are getting swallowed by a roaming black hole.
The thing is not how the earth will end, but when. The sun is eventually going to go supernova and when that happens in the next 5 billion years the earth will be gone. The oceans will evaporate the mountains will turn in to magma.
By that time we will either be super advanced or extinct. Right now we are on the eve of changing from a type 0 civilization to a type 1 civilization. That is we are moving from a civilization that uses fossil fules to one that harnesses the power of nature. Many challenges hinder this transition. We have to overcome this so as a civilization so we can advance and not go extinct.
Kronos is the god of time yes? I've never been told but assumed from his name that he is.
No Cronus is not the god of time. He isn't even a god he is a titan. Kinda similar to gods except bad. Cronus is Zeus and many other gods dad. He was the leader of the titans until Zeus and the other kids took power from the titans, in an epic immortal battle.
How is that Hades. That is some anime stuff. And plus hades would have looked like a normal guy.

Math Question: The ratio of the measures of three sides of a triangle are 1\2 : 1\3 : 1\5 , and its perimeter is 6.2 centimeters. Find the measure of each side of the triangle.
Good luck...I hate fractions.
Well you know that the side have to add up to 6.2 becuase you know the perimeter. Well you know the ratios of the sides just multiply the perimeter by each one and you have the sides. I did that i got about 6.2.

Here is the story of Bellerophon if anyone wants to read it
http://timelessmyths.com/classical/heroe s1.html#Bellerophon
Here i have a real stumper for you guys.
Name This Mythological Creature
A gigantic winged monster that was part man and part beast, taller than the tallest mountain, under his arms there was a hundred dragon-heads, and below his thighs were the massive coils of vipers. He was father of the Echidna, Cerberus, Chimaera, Orthus, the Hydra, Nemean Lion, Sphinx, the Caucasian Eagle, and the Crommyonian Sow.
At 1/3/09 08:45 PM, Piromano wrote: Anyone remember the name of this guy who gift the mortals the fire?
It was Atlas, right? I remember that because of that he was prisioned to pull a rock up to a mountain again and again. Later Hercules set him free or something
Ok it was Prometeus who gave the fire to the humans not atlas. Similar they are both titans, but Prometheus is a good titian and Atlas is bad. Promethus' punishment was to have his organs eaten out everyday until Hurc. killed the eagle that ate out his organs
At 1/3/09 11:02 PM, kidd25 wrote: is just me or is greek mythology very perverted? also who would say doesn't desereve the titlte of titan? and oh add to the as new to greek.
Well the title of Titan isn't just given away it is a race of beings. Like the giants or gods. The titans are like gods in that they are immortal and they came before the gods, and were evil. Also greek mythology is very preverted. One of the most preverous stories is the story of Cronus. I just call it the incident. So basically Zeus goes to his dad who is a titan with a magic sickle and cuts his balls off. They then go falling down to earth and whereever a drop of blood landed a giant sprung up. And that is how giants are made.
By far Hercules greatest deed was either killing the Hydra of defeating the giants. The hydra becuase that thing is just insane and Hercules just killed it and then used the blood as posion on his arrows. The giants becuase the gods couldn't kill the giants so they needed Hercules help. If he hadn't helped them then they would be in prison somewhere.
Ok first to go over Pandora's bow here is the story. So i think it was that at a very age of humans there was a dispute between man and gods. Prometheus cuta bull in half, one for the gods and one for humans, and let Zeus chose first. Zeus chose the half that looked the best, but Prometheus tricked Zeus. In punishment Zeus denied humans fire. Prometheus snuck fire to the humans however and Zeus swore revenge. He had Hephastus make a woman out of clay, and had the other gods make her beutiful crafty and charming. Zeus then gave her as a gift to Epimetheus who then married her. At the wedding Zeus gave Pandora a box and told her she could never open it. He knew that Pandora would open it however becuase she was curious. When she did open it all the evils that plague humans came out. She quickly shut the lid leaving one thing in, hope.
Did you know that the Persian army could walk on water? :3 Anyone know how they did it?
Ok to address this question this is a myth not actually true. So what the persians did was fill bags with air and then go under the water and used these air bags to breathe underwater. They would sneak under the ships and suprise the enemy. The reason i know this is i saw it on a mythbuster :).
Hands down to me Athens is better than Sparta

Hope They won't fire at our exposed body..."lmao, well if your a trained archer, and you see men in their underwear holding their shields in the air, where should you fire?
I think the whole arrows deal is a flabbergasted myth.
Its not like they were 3 feet away from them. If they fired at them in a striaght line hte arrow wouldn't have reached them it would have gone in to the ground. They fire up so they might actually hit them.
At 1/1/09 07:15 PM, RubberTrucky wrote: People do know that 300 isn't exactly classical mythology, right?
Well technically it is classical, and a myth. I assume everyone knows the definition of classicals. And the definition of a myth is a traditional story accepted as history. And 300 spartans did fend off Persians. So by going by pure definitions the story of 300 is classical mythology.
Ha hades was hardly an idiot afraid of his brother. That is just the early the movie portrayed him. He is really quite clever an example would be the story Persephone if I remeber correctly.

Fav Mithologic God: Hades, God of Hell.
I like also Thanatos (God of Death), Eros (god of love) and Baco (God of Wine lol).
Fav greek city: Spartaaaaaaaaaaa XD
The greek god of wine is actually Bacchus and the roman name for him is Dionysus. Just correcting that tiny mistake
ha thanx. This is turning out to be a good crew

Again if you are going to do actionscript stick with flash
My favorite creature has to be the hydra or chimera. I like them both becuase they are the most kick ass. The hydra has posion that if it even touches you u r dead, u cut off one of it's heads and 2 grow back and this thing is about the size of a dog. The chimera a lion goat snake thing I don't even have to exploan why that is cool.

Ok NEW GAME GUYS! :D
Name you'r favorite Greek Mythical creature.
Mine: Minotaur, i like the beasts physical strenth and how it originated. King Minos refused too sacrafice a bull that poisedon sent from the sea so he turned Minos's son into a half man half bull.
That is partly false. Yes king Minos was punished for his acts but his son was not turned in to a half bull half man. What happened is Zeus made Minos' wife fall in love with a bull. So she had an inventor make her a bull suit and she got it on with the bull. Her son is the minitor
