This was a very interesting flash to choose. I liked how you told the story of how "Clock Man" came to be. I have to say that I was confused about who was who in your story and had to read through it a couple times to get my characters right. The ending fight between good and evil was well done and I was impressed with how you resolved the conflict about his ability to control the elements. I was wondering how you were going to solve that. Your writing was descriptive and you seemed to keep the same tense throughout your story. I do wish the ending was a little more conclusive. Then again you might have wanted that "Superman" style ending.

Hey thanx for the feedback. Its always nice to here what other people think of your writing. And sorry about the character confusing i just didn't want to sound repatative you know. And as for the ending ya i was going for the superman type ending. I always did like superman.

At 1/28/09 08:10 PM, Ninja-Without-Sight wrote: 1) Who is Antigone(Be Specific! The more details, the more valid)

She is the daughter/sister of Oedipus. She led him around in the country side until he died and then returned back to Thebes. There she tried to bury he brother Ploynecies and was punished for it by being enotmbed. Creon later changed his mind and went to get her out but she had hanged herself.

2) How were her two brother, Edicles and Polynices, struck down?

They were cursed by Oedipus to kill each other in comabat.

3) What is the main conflict in the storu; rather, what is Antigone trying to do?
Bury her brother Polynices.
5)Who is Creon?
He is Oedipus' brother in law and currently kind of thebes at this time.
6) What is Creon's relation to Haemon?

Creon is his father

7) What is Antigone's relation to Creon?

I believe Creon is her uncle.

9) Who is Tiresias?(Be VERY specific. It is more complex than it sounds!)

He is a blind seeer.

10) What is Tiresias' message?
Basically that Creon needs to bury Polynecies and let Antigone out of her entonement.

11) What does Creon do after taking the advice of the Chorus and Tiresias?
He buries Polynecies and then goes to find Antigone

12) What happens to antigone and Creon?

Antigone kills herself and Creon goes on living.
14) what is the plays final blow on Creon?
His son kills himself.
**Bonus**-
In what order did the books come in AND in what order were they written???(Hint: They ARE two different answers!) Bonus is worth 3 extra coins to whoever gives the first correct answer.

Oedipus the King, Antigone, then Oedipus at Colonus

Sounds like a great idea. Can anyone post questions and give out coins for correct answers? Or is it just mods and matt who can do the questions.

Also i'm pretty sure it was Hercules who found Icarus's body and gave it a proper burial.

Wait Daedalous didn't kill the minotaur Theseus did. And from one source i know that Daedalous was in the labyrinth becuase the King didn't want him to reveal the origin of the minotaur.

Response to: The Ancient Greek Mythology Crew. Posted January 24th, 2009 in Clubs & Crews

You left out one thing about Dedalous. He created the bull suit for King Minos' wife who then used and was impregnated by a bull, and she gave birth to the Minotaur. So if you think about it the Minotaur was Dedalous' fault.

That is a great myth. Jason got a crew together of the greatest heros of the land to go and find the golden fleece. Some of the heroes on board were Theseus, Hercules, and Ajax.

Continuation of Above

John rushes at him and tackles him through the wall in to the adjacent wall. He throws him against a wall. He stands up and faces John and brings his two blades out. John does the same and rushes at him. They lock together and push each other back. They seem to be evenly matched, but John changes his arm and slides it though the blade. Clock man jumps back and realizes that he won't be able to defeat John like this, and that time is running out.

"John I am sorry for what happened, but I can not let you harm these people." He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in and transports John somewhere other than earth.
"Where have you taken me?" John asks.
"We are in another dimension, this is where I get my powers from"
John try's to change in to air and flee but he is unable to.
"Your powers won't work here. You are a normal man and this is where you will stay."
"What, you are going to imprison me here in this dimension. I will find a way out and when I do."
"No I thought of that, that is why I have asked my friends to keep watch over you." Two blobs float over with what appears to be a cube.
"What are those things and what are they carrying?" John asks.

"Oh these are higher dimensional beings and they are carrying your prison cell, a hypercube." The two beings grab John and place him in the hypercube.
Clock men then returns to our dimension and locates the bombs and dismantles them.

He levitates above the city and looks down upon the people. He realizes that the world is not ready for the knowledge that he posses, or the discoveries that he has made. Maybe the next century will be the one in which the people are ready.

The young boy is shaken awake by his friend, " Hey wake up man, the teacher is coming over."
"What. I'm awake." The bell rings and the two boys walk out of class and in to the bustling hallway.
"Dude you never fall asleep in class what's up?" The friend asks.
"I didn't sleep that well last night. Had a late night," he replies.
"Oh ok, whatever. Hey after school you want to go and check out that particle thingy down town."
" It's called a particle accelerator, and its restricted to the public."
"Just meet me outside the building if you want to see what its all about," the friend replies.

The day continues normally and the young boy named Michael meets his friend outside the building after school.

"Dude we aren't supposed to be here. We could get in a lot of trouble for this," Michael said.
"Relax man. They haven't used this thing in a long time."

The two boys make their way inside and into the particle accelerator. Michael goes up to the controls to see what its all about, while his friend remains inside the machine. As Michael looks at the machine a mouse runs over his foot and startles him; he accidently hits a button.

"Acceleration process started," a voice says.
"What was that?" His friend asks. The machine powers up. Particles start to accelerate around the loop increasing in speed each time they make a rotation.
"You better hurry and get out of there!" Michael shouts to his friend.
"What's the big deal. Its just a bunch of tiny particles."
All of a sudden his friend screams and falls over. He stands up and there is a gapping hole in his stomach.
"Michael what's happening to me!" His friend shouts.
"Get out of there. The accelerated particles are colliding with the atoms in your body and knocking them loose."

His friend starts to run to the exit and then his foot vanishes and he falls. He gets up on his knees and utters a cry for help, as the very atoms of his being are ripped apart.

Michael looks on in horror there is nothing that he can do. All he can do is watch, as his best friend is ripped to pieces atom by atom.

Time goes on, and Michael eventually gets over the death of his friend.

One night at a bank the teller is approached by a man dressed completely in black. The man in black demands money. The teller pushes the alarm button and the stranger blows a toxic gas out of his mouth and the teller falls over dead.
As the stranger exits the bank with the money Clock Man appears in front of him and demands that he cease and deceit.

"Oh well if it isn't the infamous Clock man who I have heard so much about," replies the stranger.
"Sir I will ask you nicely to give your self up, you have no chance against a person who can control the very fabric of time."
"See that's were your wrong. You may be able to control time. But I can control the elements."
The concrete Clock man is standing on turns to liquid and he sinks up to his waist. It then solidifies and he is stuck.
"Now to see who the infamous clock man really is," the stranger says.

As he pulls of Clock mans mask he is startled to see his once best friend Michael staring back at him.

"Michael is that you? So you are Clock man," replies the friend.
"John? Is that you? I saw you die before my very eyes that day after school."
"What you saw was my very being ripped apart. Once my atoms had resettled they proceeded to reform. I soon discovered that I was a freak no longer human. I could control the elements at will." Replies John.
"How is that even possible?" Michael asks.
"I don't know and I don't really care. Because now that I know you are clock man you can use your powers and go back in time and fix all of this."
"I am sorry John. As much as I would like to do that I can't"
"What! Why not, you are my best friend. You are the one who turned me in to what I am; a monster," John screams.
"I am truly sorry, but I can not just go messing with time like that. If I were to do that there would be untold consequences that would reverberate throughout the universe."
John pulls his hand out of his pocket, which transforms in to a sword. " If that is your answer than I am also sorry because I have no further use for you then."

As he swings down to cut Michael's head off, time slows down and stops. Michael teleports out of the cement and in front of his friend. "John I am truly sorry for what has happened to you, but I can not change what has happened in the past. No matter how bad it is. I hope you will one day forgive me."

He picks John up and flies him to the jail and sets him in front of it. He then starts time again and teleports off. He fails to notice that John has turned in to oxygen and slipped out of his cuffs.
Time goes on as normal until one day John notices something on TV. The screen goes blank and then John appears on the screen.

"Hello people of the world. Now you might be wondering what I am doing on TV, well let me tell you. See I have been turned in to a monster, and my best friend refuses to help me become human again. This friend I speak of is the one and only Cloak man, or as I know him Michael. You see to persuade him to help me I have created 8 nuclear bombs, and placed them a mile underneath the biggest cities in the world. They are set to detonate in ten minutes. If Clock man refuses to help me they will detonate, killing millions. However if he does help me they will not detonate. And don't even try just stopping time and stopping me like you did last time. I have created these bombs with detonators that I can control mentally. So come on Clock man just try and stop me"

As the world erupts in to utter chaos Michael dawns his suit and goes to confront John, for the last time.
Clock man appears behind John. "It's not like someone who controls time to be late."
"Why are you doing this? Millions of peoples lives are at risk, and all you care about is yourself!" Clock man yells.

John turns around and pushes him in to the wall and holds him against it. "I will tell you why I am doing this. It is because even though my best friend can help me he refuse to do so."
"I have already told you that I can't do that. If I do, untold things will happen to the universe." He then teleports out of John's grasp and to the other side of the room.

With all this discussion about myths the stories in the bible are myths if u don't believe in them. To the ancient Greeks these weren't myths they were religious truths. They actually believed that the gods lived on mt Olympus. Also they are many documented sources that prove that Jesus actually was a person who did exist.

Also I joined this group becuase I like to talk about mythology. I am in Latin and that's how I know most of these myths.
