Hey i have no problem with genetic manipulation of crops. As long as there are no health risks with it. We have been doing this for thousands of years anyone just in a natural way. Its kinda like speeding up that process. And with the population increaseing this could be a valuable assest in crop production.
hey sorry i haven't been posting alot. Have been busy with school and resently created my own club here. If you want you can check it out its the science club.
wait one thing snakes are cold blooded. Which means that this snake would have to get alot of sun to stay warm and survive, there are trees every where. Where is it going to get the sun it needs?
eh looks pretty real to me, but the odds aren't so good. For a snake that large it would have to eat alot and live in an enviroment that is ablt to sustain it.

My favorite scientist is Albert Einstein of course because his life is an example of showing that anyone can make a career in science just by thinking

Holy crap that video was alot of things. I was amazed at first and then i was like that is kinda sad in a sense. But still wow.
ha fun game.

I agree with aldlv that you have to post a little more robust post, that is a little bit more scientific. Also thanx aldv for the save on that one.
At 2/19/09 04:50 PM, RubberTrucky wrote: Another thing: can anyone tell me about Quantum teleportation?
I thought there was a big difference in the fantasy notion of teleportation (cfr Star Trek) and the quantum teleportation thing. Yet a few days ago in the news paper they were ranting on about Star Trek becoming real because scientists put quantum teleportation to use to move an atom from place A to place B.
I thought Quantum Teleportation was just moving information from one object to another without changing the original one. (because acting upon the original object makes it collapse into a different state)
Well it sounds like what are describing is teleportation in general. I am not exactly sure about quantum teleportaion, but i believe that it is just teleporting at the atomic level. But what you are describing is teleportation. What they do is copy the info. of the atoms and then reasmble the info. some where else. That is easy with atoms becuase you only have to know a little info. But with bigger things you have to know the info. of all the atoms that make up the object. That is at least what i understand.

Coolest Science thing I've done: last year at a camp I went I split apart DNA with enzymes and then formed a genome from it.
You are in welcome to the club.
Here is a very interesting article about naked singularites. They are the siblings of the black hole. basically they don't have an event horizon so you can see them. They still suck stuff in but the also spew stuff out.
Ok new members are Djconnect, youngblood26, sirtom93, and Patton3. Welcome to the group all you new people.

And it is true that i have made aldlv a mod, and i may be looking for another mod in the future so wait and see.

1. Shooting gold particles at a carbonite surface and then count how many clusters were formed.
2. Quantum Hall effect with a huge magnet that gave the computer weird colours and then counting levels in the induced magnetic field.
I've done practica with Brag reflection and such and optics (for instance how a led light constructs white light out of a few spectral stuff
Dude those experiments sound like alot of fun. I have never done anything that cool, i think becuase my school doesn't have enough money.
Hey got a quick question for all of you guys. Who is the coolest hero?
I would have to say Theseus cause he used his brain to defeat his enemies, and he is just kick ass.
Hey ok new member who have joined are aldlv and ThePigeonMaster.
As far as the first topic up for discussion i agree with aldv that it should be
the most interesting experiement that you have done.
For me i have done to many really interesting ones yet but at the end of this year i will be makeing a working fuel cell with my engineering club.
As for one that i actually have done it would have to be were we took silver nitrate took the silver out made something else with it took the silver out again and then turned it back in to silver nitrate.
Lets try to stay a little bit on topic.
Those are fun I admit.
I'm talking about Density and Mass labs that I don't like.
Welcome, and i also hate those types of labs they suck.

Biology for sure, particularly human biology, and physics.
Sweet you are in, first member yes.
This is a club for people to discuss science. I know there is a political forum but this club is specifically for science topics. Here you can ask questions about ideas and concepts you don't understand, or just discuss a topic that interests you. Any science is open for discussion.
Rules
1. No flamming
2. Stay on topic, or at least have it be relevant to the discussion.
3. No spamming, non what so ever
4. Don't fight to much, you can debate over issues.
To become a member just post what area of science you are most interested in and you favorite scientist.
It would be ideal for america to switch but not realistic. Its a far superior system but would take alot of organizing and time and confusion to switch over. I think we should some day but lets fix the bigger problems first.

The point is native UK people are better because their ancestors did the right thing and stayed where they belonged. Plus their English are better. oshi-
Ok for one thing Americans did go through a period where they had slaves, but the Brits. did also and guess what they also shipped slaves also. And the whole thing where the ancestors stayed where they were that is a load of krap. A ton of brits. immigrated to the US, and they still immigrate to the US. Before you go saying one nation's people are better than the other get your facts straight.
And who cares if one nation's people are better than the other. We are all humans we should not be divided by what nation we are; we should be united by being human.

Hey you can join just wait for matt to post it for it to be offical.
How are they more baddass? explain please.
Well there is the name thing and then there is the myths they had. Such as the aeneid which is based of of jason and the argonauts (greek) but more badass. Like he is the last guy from troy and he basically find rome i believe.
Greek and roman and greek mythology is like exactly the same. The romans adopted the greeks myths and just made them more bad ass.
dude most of these guys on this list make chuck Norris look like a pussy. These guys are insane.

And what god is more powerful than Caesar? what being has more influence and power over this world than Caesar? Caesar is god. Minerva, Venus, Saturn, Mars, they all live through Hearsay and idols. But when a Caesar sits on his openly presents himself to man for worship.
The people that follow Caesar will rule all other people. Only the Caesars are god. Only kings are worthy of being deemed Divine.
ok, now i am done.
Ok for one thing the cult of Roma did not primarily worship Ceasar. The worshipped the deified Rome. Also Ceasar didn't name himself a god it was done after he died, and one of hte reasons that they cult of roma was started was it was used a way to put down other religions and was forced upon the people. Ok and to your question about who is more powerful and more influential than Ceasar, that would have to be the people. Ceasar wouldnt be anywhere if the people didn't support him.
