Nice little stuff :) About the system freeze : no problem for me (Athlon 64 3500+, 2GiB RAM), but I guess there may be a memory leak, cause it starts a bit under 70MiB of RAM and keeps increasing slowly.

Well, anyway, this beta 2 version is the most secure version I've ever tested ! It can't even load websites so you don't need to worry about getting bad ActiveX ! Awesome !

I think he said a reason : you can reprogram Linux whereas you can't reprogram Windows.

it doesn't remove the fact worthless bashing and picking at other systems is dumb and childish.

Ayway, it looks like, for you, everything that goes against your beloved Windows is childish : we shouldn't even complain about it if I remember well...

I didn't say if *I* complained, I said if *a lot of ppl* complained (in which I include be ready to boycott). Trust me if a big poll showed that 80% of ppl would want to boycott Vista and stick with XP (I'm not even talking about switching to Linux) unless, for instance, Windows stopped making hidden connectiions (see my previous link), they would seriously consider removing these connections.

Like I said, bitching and complaining about it is futile and juvenile in reality. Bitch, bitch, bitch. It doesn't matter. Grow up, get over it.

Aren't you precisely complaining here ?

It's not a car, it's more like "the" car. And it's the car still in the making.
If a lot of ppl complained to Micro$oft about the stupid things they do (see particularly "Hidden Connections" and "Microsoft Keeps Control") maybe they would stop doing them. Unfortunately this very probably won't happen, because we have too many retards on earth who think cookies are viruses or spywares.

Well, if you like it... personnally I prefer the old "Windows Classic" style. In my opinion the XP style sucks and the Vista style is as ugly as the default KDE or Gnome or MacOS (ok, I've only seen screenshots but I guess they are explicit enough). But well, it's not the problem (as long as you can use a Win Classic style with Vista - I don't know if it's possible), it's just a matter of taste. The 2 problems I have with Vista (apart from the "M$ controls your programs even more" issue) are :
- it seems that ppl think it's worth it to buy another $200 or so Windows just to get a new style
- it seems that ppl think it's normal that you have to upgrade to a medium gaming PC just in order to run an OS, even if the only reason why this OS needs a powerful computer is some new GUI

It's funny to see that in every topic I read about Vista, the (almost) only "feature" that ppl like is that "amazing 3D style". They don't mind if it requires at least 512MiB of RAM (which means that if you want to play a game on this **** you'll probably need at least 1GiB) or if they have to get this brand new GeForce 8 video card, or if it will have any other really intersting feature (like, let's say, ext2/ext3, USB 3 or SATA III support ?). Personnally I hope it won't have much new features so I can stay with my XP and its "Windows Classic" style and I won't need to buy this goddamed expensive GeForce 8 card ^-^

Yeah but if you want an easy, slow, single-companied language I'd say (although I hate Micro$oft) use Visual Basic : at least there is a big community behind it. And if you want to make crappy sprites GameMaker will be as good I suppose.
Well, maybe I'm being too negative because I didn't try it, but I don't think a language made primarily for teaching programming is a good idea.

Yeah I've already heard of it... some guy asked a question about it on my forum because (I think) of a PHP script I had called "turing number". There are a few links at the end of the discussion.
I don't like this language because :
- their point is only computer science instruction (as they say themselves)
- it's not free
- there seems to be only one company behind it

Neither : work on contents, then Google will find you so don't bother about "popularity". Your graphics are decent enough to begin with.
Also quickly make sure your site is properly coded (XHTML, etc) otherwise it will probably never be. Maybe it is already though, but I can't say with just a picture :p

You can't do a forum using these languages because they are client-sided : for a forum, you need scripts that run on your server. PHP for instance.
A few open source forums :

http://www.phpbb.com/
http://getvanilla.com/ (taking a website offline just because a new version of the software it offers is coming soon is stupid in my opinion btw)

Ok, supposing you are dead serious about this, here is what I think you need :
- learn a lot of C++ (and/or maybe another language, I don't know)
- prepare to spend a few years on it... the guys behind Photoshop aren't one single programmer and considering the cost of this program you can guess how many hours of work it means... I don't think you can do such a big program alone except, maybe, if you don't need to work to earn money.
