it is common to replace the DC plug on the laptop, with soldering.
personally i don't do it myself, i think you get the replacement part from another electronic with the same power rating or from radio shack.

i simple solution is to use a external battery charger.

the fan of a power supply does spin all the time.

2.) Is it a horrible thing if it isn't spinning?

no, most low wattage power supplies don't have a fan.

3.) Is there any trouble shooting for trying to quick fix it?

replace it, don't fix it

4.) How hard is it to replace?

i don't recommend you tiring to open your power supply on the count that you can kill yourself. replacing the hole power supply is easy and would most likely be better than the one that came with the computer.

your operating system (OS) maybe corrupted,
to fix a corrupted OS you need to reformat and reinstall your OS.
be sure to backup your data before doing so.

bring your computer to a qualified computer technician to test your computers hardware and to verify if it is corrupted or just a virus. if it is corrupted, the technician will backup all your data. restore/reinstall your OS and place your data back were it was. the data backup my include application data and user sets so after you reinstall your applications you wont notice a change from before. virus scans of your data is normally included.

*The quad core Xeon they're talking about is actually the server variant of the Core i7 940, which supports dual

yes, error correcting memory plus multi cpu routing does slow down maximum potential.
I believe the mac pros both have the same motherboard so you can upgrade to dual cpus later.
The motherboard has 4 PCI-E X16 2.0 slots
4 Firewire 800 ports
6 SATA2 Hard drive ports (not including Super Drives)
8 FB ECC RAM slots on a daughter board
32 GB RAM MAX
dual Gigabit Ethernet

Costs are high simply because this is a Xeon workstation not intended for consumers.
a comparable motherboard would cost about $500-900 CAD.
Another reason for it's high price is that apple's upgrades are in fact very high, you would save alot by buying your upgrades from newegg.

2.66gHz Intel Core i7 920* $279.99
2x NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260 896mb $378.98 (Not including $40 rebate)
640gb hard drive (7200rpm like the mac) $69.99
12gb (2 3x2gb kits) 1600MHz DDR3 $239.98
Upper-end X58 chipset motherboard $219.99 (Not including $15 rebate)
22x CD/DVD burner $30.99
750W corsair power supply $119.99 (Not including $10 rebate)
(Items below are subject to personal preference. Cost estimates are generous)
Decent CPU cooler: $50
Keyboard and mouse: $50
Decent case/fans: $100
Windows: $200 (As a CS student at my university, this was actually free)**
Shipping: $50

You really can't compare this to the mac since this is like comparing apples to oranges no pun intended.

your CPU is in fact faster
The graphic are better, i dont think apple has SLI, but apple does have openCL
mac's also use WD hard drives at a ripoff price.
chosen slower memory, and 1600MHz is a overclock speed
chosen motherboad hardly comparable to the mac pro

The mac pro is really for people doing video editing, 3D rendering and etc, most serious 3D animators will tell you to get a Xeon, although the i7 is faster it will slow down after 10hours on extreme load where the Xeon will not. plus the dual xeon will have a bigger benefit with apple's new grand central in snow leopard.

Really the difference in technology and who these computers target market is for is what justifies the costs.

you actually can upgrade your cpu, hard drive and ram yourself without voiding your warranty.
for laptops, imacs and mac minis. The mac pro is almost fully upgradable the same as a desktop.

Macs? DAMN SOMETHING IN MY COMPUTER EXPLODED GUESS I'LL HAVE TO CALL TECH SUPPORT.

isn't that the same for all brand name computers like Dell, Compaq and etc.

mac still wins with audio thanks to core audio, i can't manage multiple audio devices as one large device with windows. mac just has so much more control for recording.

It's entirely personal choice now but there's no doubt you get more for your money with a custom PC than a packaged Apple computer.

your paying for it's compact design and superior screens, firewire 800, wifi n, bluetooth,
built-in mic, webcam and speakers.
and the macs use less power than the average PC.

Forum: Where is / How to?

the ads are performance based, so you'll only earn money on flashs/ads that have at-least 1000imps and 1 click before you see any earnings.

example:
if you have 3 flashes
1 has 1000imps this year but no clicks = $0.00 earnings
2 has 50imps this month and one click = $0.05 earnings
3 has 600 imps and no clicks = $0.00 earnings
you total earnings is $0.05

it's all but performance. more imps but no clicks can mean zero earnings, but more clicks plus low imps can mean higher earnings.

this is all just an example real earnings will vary.

reactOS is a linux that runs windows programs, you can call it a windows xp clone.

for every other version of linux you have to download wine or crossover, this are not emulators, they add native windows components to linux.

Interesting you have a low profile computer.

if you connect the cable to each adapter and the message doesn't goes away it means that video card is broken.

the only way to test this is by a swap test.

but take your computer to a qualified computer technician to check your power supply and motherboard as well just in case. The technician will also do temperature and air flow tests for you to read in documentation.
