Oh god, self promotion much?
Sorry man, but SSF owns this, don't slag someone elses hard work by saying it 'sucks', while promoting your own work, which is collaborative!
He did his by himself, while you worked on 'yours', with 9 people!

He's simply stating that it's been done before, and better. The link to his collab isn't necessarily self promotion.

Plus, he never said it was his game, so don't put quotes around a word he didn't state.

Yeah it does feel off sync. Are you running your audio as streaming?

Going to have to agree with Luis, if the animation is supposed to connect to the music in any way, Im not seeing it.

Topic: conserning motino tweening

Posted: 08/19/08 01:06 AM

Forum: Flash

You need to have a different layer for everything that you want to have a unique motion tween. For example, if you have two symbols, and you want one to go right and one to go left, you need two layers. However, you can group symbols that you may want to have the same motion, such as two symbols going left at the same speed.

Usually every moving symbol should be given its own layer. Stationary things such as backgrounds can be shared, depending on artist preference.

Some artists use over 30 layers in their animations, and some use only 5 or 6

Pretty sure deviant art has some sort of protection where they cant right click the images, hence no saving of them. Of-course, they can always print screen, etc., but there's not much you can do about that.

I'm going to say that it was a clever business approach.

With the Mac user-base growing daily, there are a lot of veteran Windows users that wouldn't use any computer without proper safety, hence such a program appears.

One of the biggest problems I have with all creepy insects (Spiders, Cockroaches, Palmetto Bugs) is that I just dont like to kill them.

Ill kill an ant or a mosquito, but spiders (superstitiously) are supposed to be bad luck to kill, and I've gotten used to thinking about them that way. Plus, I feel that spiders are like the most unappreciated insect in the world: they kill all the things that bother us, like flies and mosquitos, yet we fear them and most kill them on sight.

At 8/4/08 09:02 PM, BlackmarketKraig wrote: Well there aren't a lot of images like that on the web as far as I can tell. This is the best I've found so far (check out the doctor, he isn't wearing a hat/helmet). Have you thought about doing an 'almost' birds-eye view angle? Something like in the original Zelda games and countless other 8 & 16 bit games? A flat out birds-eye view is kind of boring in my opinion anyway.

If you have something like Garry's Mod for Half-Life 2 or a 3D posing program you can always set up screen shots for yourself from different angles and positions.

Next time include an example of your own art please, thanks.

The birds eye view, or isometric, like in Zelda unfortunately is harder to code and animate. Most Flash games use a "directly from above" angle because it is much simpler with customizable equipment and the like, because you don't have to redraw it for every side of the characters.

Your pictures are nice though. I wish I had Half Life 2, but I do have Cinema 4D lying around, and it may have a default 3D human model to mess around with.

I apologize for the recent deleted bumps that I made, thought that it would be appropriate seeing as how the initial post was done in the early morning.

But back on topic, are there any designers that have animated in this perspective and have any tips without a realistic model? Simple things like the shape of the head from the top is what's bothering me, because I highly doubt that it is perfectly elliptical.

Hey.

I like to make graphics for flash video games, and wanted to draw a basic top-down angle for an RPG. The only thing I can look at for reference are other games with this perspective.

I've been looking around sites such as Posemaniacs but they do not have an angle directly from the top.

Are there any sites that offer a fully 3D moveable camera with a model, or any that would have the angle that I am speaking of?

Not entirely sure as to what that is.

All I need is for a program to use the scanner for me (Programs such as Photoshop that allow you to import>Scan) because I cannot install the program that comes with the scanner since it is not compatible with my current OS.

I understand this isn't exactly an "Art" question, but I supposed the people lurking these forums would know much about scanning.

I've been trying to get my HP Photosmart All-in-one printer to work with my mac. I can't seem to install the drivers for it though because it doesn't support leopard (those bastards), only older versions of the OS.

Are there any programs that connect to your scanner that you would recommend? I used a program called "VueScan" but the quality was a load of shit.

Once again I apologize for this topic, and that I don't have a starter picture (Though I suppose I'm going to get locked anyway, PM me if you have an answer)
