SPikes or no? knight wip

I'm working on a drawing of a knight because I realized I have never drawn armor on my tablet.
however, I am faced with a dilemma.
Should his swords have spikes/serration, or no? The swords are in a separate photoshop document because, well, a man needs a good sword. Here is the spikeless version of the sword for his left hand, although it will be changed slightly once it is added into the main picture.
The actual sketch and the spiked sword will follow.
I'm having lots of trouble just getting this cello drawn right.
Anyone have any cello tips, cause I don't want to trace?

that is an interesting texture on the hat's blue parts, but it would look better if it wasn't flat looking (the texture) I think displacing it would fix that, but I really am just guessing.

Well, I was messing about in corel painter for the first time, and there are parts of it I definitely like a lot more than photoshop :D
Maybe I will combine them.
