but metallica did a whole cover album (garage inc.) after they put out 5 insanely popular albums (master of puppets, ride the lightning, kill em' all, metallica, and justice for all)

did you ever notice that most people tend to side with the original version of a popular song rather then the cover of that song? well i was just looking up the song Stone Cold Crazy on youtube to see if queen did it originally (they did), i looked this up because i was listening to a cover version that metallica did and i really liked it.

i listened to queen's version and to metallica's version, and i have to say that i like them both equally. i then looked at the reviews of each video (most reviews about the actual song) and i saw most of the reviews for the queen version said things along the lines of "the is queens song, what the hell metallica" and "this version is a million times better then metallica's cover".

if i HAD to side with one i would pick metallicas' but that's just my opinion, but i don't see why people refuse to give another song a chance (and it's a cover done by professionals). i even saw a review that said "metallica can't write their own songs!!!!!!", well ok then....

i give credit to the beatles because i like what i hear when i put them on. so no, i would not hate them if they were a new band, i would probably download their stuff because i like their style.

and whoever said that they were the founders of rock n' roll doesn't know what they are talking about (i thought it was established many years ago the elvis was indeed the founder of rock n' roll.)

also they got so popular back then because it was during a time when drugs weren't considered "bad" for you (pot anyway), and their music ment a lot more to a lot more people back then.
