Um, isn't this the reason he killed himself? So he and his songs couldn't be used like this?

that's not anywhere near as repetitive as all popular music today

True, but that doesn't excuse it from being shit.

You choose which is the shittiest. I'd say they all equally deserve the top spot but at the end of the day, that's just my opinion.

The live version of Purple Haze by Hendrix has a kickass solo near the end

4:01-4:26

And yes, I know this is the version used in guitar hero world tour. For the record though, I've like this song way before the game came out.

Today at work I heard a phrase that absolutely has to die:

"Legendary"

I mean, that's such a bland and cliche'd term that it doesn't mean anything. Therefore, it is a verbal crutch, doesn't contribute anything to an even remotely intelligent conversation. So, it needs to die.

NG, what are some other terms that need to die? Here's a few more I can think of:

"epic"
"a rollercoaster of emotions"
"at the end of the day,...."

This looks cool, I'll give it a shot:

I'm Ryan, I'm 20. I'm honestly pretty smart and sarcastic. I'm also kinda anti-social and instead like to get stuff done by myself, but I do it right the first time. When I do hang out with friends, I'm usually quiet, but sometimes I do stuff to get attention.

I have a good knowledge of cars, so I'm excited as to what I'm gonna be.

First off, it's Satch Boogie. ;)

Second, yes I have. I've stayed up for days straioght beating GH (2 dyas for GHWT). Also, when you play for that long, everything looks like it's moving away from you if you stare at something after playing for a while.

So I'm arguing with my friend over whether or not Jimi Hendrix was an influential person in music. Being the major music aficianado I am (and that I'm a HUGE fan of him), I tell him how his music helped make some of the genres like rock and hard rock (which he listens to), he counters with "Well, it was the 70's, pretty much every band influenced music in that genre." He then said that "His career would've been a lot more influential if he wasn't stoned throughout most of it." He then told me that he didn't like ANY of his songs. I put this to the test by playing damn near EVERY Hendrix song I have: Purple Haze, The Wind Cries Mary (my personal favorite) Are You Experienced....he just said they all suck.

I then asked him what bands he thought were influential to music. He said the Trashmen.

-_-

Anyway, what does NG think of Jimi? If you've honestly never heard a song by him (which I doubt), here's The Wind Cries Mary, the closest version to the studio recording I could find.

Yeah....unless I'm missing out on something big, grunge is dead. Has been for a while. Good luck finding new grunge bands.

Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and Soundgarden get my vote though/
