Right, I'm a real newbie and I need help with my AS. (yes I can see someone quoting me and putting another S there - I know about it so it isn't funny so no cool points)
Firstly, I need help with the following code (which probably won't work, I just returned and the newfangled code thing is new to me)

That is to make my character move, but as soon as you stop moving the character looks as if it is punching into thin air (crappy animation on my part - It's top down so you can only see the arms).
I needed to know how to prevent this.

Second and finally, I was wondering if anyone would point me into the direction of a good AS tutorial (I've tried the Ultimate tutorial 2 one but it isn't what I'm looking for) or possibly even be my tutor IE take me on as their nooby padawan (first thing that came to my head, ok?) - at least until my free trial runs out (29 days as of now - I'm gonna have to get the full version coughlegitametlycough soon). Preferably they would be British (better for times that way) and patient, seeing as I've only been learning for 1 day (but I think I'm learning quickly, AS is all I'm really struggling with.)

Newgrounds in 2003 and 2004, regardless of what anyone may or may not say, was a completely different place. 4chan didn't even exist when I made my first post on NG, and it was practically unheard of until at least. People who were later moderated posted shit that will make your toes curl, shit worse than the pain olympics (if you don't know what the pain olympics are, then good for you). When dobio wore turtlenecks, when earfetish loved you, when tricky was more than just a guy in a madness flash, when there were hundred-page long roleplaying threads on general, there's so much shit thats gone on in the BBS before you came here.

And that's why I'm so fucking annoyed when someone comes along from 4chan with rickrolls and barrel rolls and so on and so forth.

I've been to 4chan once or twice, I won't deny. I was curious. And I can see why some people may enjoy the unorthodox content and unruly state, and I can see how it generates so many memes, but that doesn't mean they'll fit in well over here. A rickroll well done was a rickroll, but a shit attempt 3 months too late is just a big fail-in-a-box.

So to summarise, there's nothing wrong with being a noob. Contrary to what some regs and vets might say, there's not even much wrong with posting, not even with making shitty posts.
