in it from what people have posted online. I believe my graphics card the gtx 570 1280mb card which came out in December 2010 is more powerful than what is in an Xbox One.

Seeing how the card retailed for more than half the cost of the XB1 when it launched, this shouldn't be surprising at all.

I'm apparently the only one in my whole school who bothered with the Forza series.

It doesn't. Power isn't the only thing that PC has to offer; but that's all the new consoles really have more of compared to their predecessors. Consoles can be cool, but if they don't have anything interesting or innovative to offer, then I don't really see the point of getting it if the previous ones are just fine. Like you said, power doesn't mean everything.

The current gen consoles had made huge strides over their older predecessors. Online multiplayer got way better, digital distribution came in, and we got things like DLC (which can be bitter or sweet), game patches, streaming services, and downloading games onto your hard disk.

What do these offer? Better specs, and that is just about it. Personally, I would rather keep the XBOX 360 and play the titles I have on that and make the move to the PC.

Because of horrible used game policies, this is why we can't have nice things (well at least on American consoles) like sharing games.

Pretty much. I respect(ed) consoles, but they need to get more innovative and make more reasons why should I get X console over Y console other than exclusives. Right now, ignoring the costs and the DRM (dunno why people bitch, it was inevitable and consoles have lots of DRM anyway) they look the same, to me at least.

I'm not really put off by this in a significant way.

I mean, people on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus or other social media sites are always having information collected about them. Hell, even as I type this on Google Chrome, Google is collecting my information and selling it to probably less savory companies and what not. Also, what ISP or phone service provider doesn't do this already? I don't get how people are so put off by the government looking at what we do and not when companies are too.
