Topic: Are you on Twitter?

Posted: 08/14/09 08:09 PM

Forum: General

Twitter is the absolute low point in human interaction. Nothing can or will be worse. It is the single foulest thing on the internet and the worst idea ever.

At first I had no clue what it was. So someone tried to explain it to me. After their explanation I came up with it as being nothing more than a new VERY easy way to stalk people.

Then I saw the Twitter in plain English video which I am assuming was made by the creators of twitter or something in hopes of making it look attractive to the general public.
After that I came up with the conclusion that it is the single worst idea on the internet to date. There is a reason why when I ask my friends "what are you doing?" that if they give me an answer different than "Nothing" I will punch them through the phone. UNLESS they actually happen to be doing something incredibly unique and amazing (which they never are, no one ever is, hear me NO ONE!). I dont want to know what everyone is doing every second of the day. I think its bad enough that people have blogs of their daily life. If I gave a shit, i would probably talk to you in person about it. If i dont talk to you in person, then i dont give three shits.

Topic: People who cling to highschool

Posted: 08/14/09 08:02 PM

Forum: General

God I hate the kind of kids who wish they were still in high school and who only talk about it even years after they graduate. Its one thing to occasionally bring up shit that happened, but for the people who actually thought that anything that happened during high school mattered, well they can go fuck right off.

The worst are the ones who never matured out of the high school mind set. You know the ones. The ones who have the same type of party, with the same purpose, and gossip in the same way and form the same kind of cliques. THOSE are the worst.

Marsupial can be rescouted, but can an eye on him. I pruned him for repeatedly submitting a pic with a stolen source image. Even after I warned him to stop. makes me suspicious of the source image of his other pieces as well.....

Yes, if its a photograph of an art work that is yours its legit.

Also a new job for all of y'all. There are lots of submission that are in the portal, but have no votes. if you ever see a submission with 0 votes vote on it so that it will appear if you organize everything by score.

Well, l know for sure that he has been scouted by at least 2 users and you can see that he is not in the art portal....

Ah thats what you meant. I thought you were talking about someone being scouted by two people at once. Silly me. but just because a user gets scouted multiple times dosent mean they will stay scouted. chances are unless they improved greatly they were unscouted and someone else decided to pick them up, only to have them being unscouted again.

Is giving a notice really necessary? I mean nothing really happens when you get unscouted, besides your work is no longer in view of the art portal and you cant scout. And its so easy to get re-scouted, just submit better work.

And what would the warning be? "Hi your work sucks you are at risk of being unscouted." Its not really a debatable matter, your work is either good enough to stay scouted or it isn't. There is no risk of being descouted, because if you are at risk chances are you WILL be descouted.

Posted: 08/12/09 10:51 AM

Forum: General

A few years ago my best friend was complaining of stomach aches also. He went to see a few doctors, they either didn't know what was causing it, or said it was probably Crohns disease.

They started treating him for Crohns for about a year, but it wasnt working. He had to drop out of school (Berkley) and fly back to DC to get treatment. A few months later they told him it wasnt Crohns disease after all, but cancer.

He had tumors all over is intestines and omentum (membrane that surrounds your intestines). It was inoperable and he died 6 months later.

Make sure they are sure its Crohns.

That's not possible. But please, show evidence if you can.

As for people who are scouted but it still doesn't show them as such. Its a problem that we know about. We know a poor mans way to fix it, but are waiting on a more permanent solution. If you can just compile a list of people who are having this problem if you want to help out.

Yeah, that's not quite it. if you had a piece removed its not because someone flagged it. After its flagged its checked by an art mod. If proof of theft or some other rule breaking is available then it will be deleted. if not then we keep it.

PM me the images that you had removed and I will tell you what the problem with them was.

This one is great, good job on the reflected color.

This may sound weird but see what it looks like without the single green streak on the upper left part of the sharpener. Replace it with one of the blues or a shade of black. The reason behind this would be that it would bring the piece more together as a whole because that one little streak is the only section were the green shows up in the drawing. Whereas everywhere else any color used appears elsewhere in the piece.
Even though sometimes you see an object in a certain way there come a time when you need to make the artistic decision of changing things slightly, because here is one of the great parts about working from life, chances are once you take down the set up no one will ever see it to say its missing something (in this case that green streak). Sometimes changing up a little thing here or though through your imagination helps the piece more than trying to stay as true as possible to what you see.

Why ditch a whole account because of crappy art.

If you don't like your art delete it. If you don't like looking at it yourself (because when you delete it yourself it goes to a page only you can see) PM an art mod to clear it for you.

its only 2:40, the night is long. just because you are wide awake at 1 am doesn't mean you have a chance of pulling an all nighter. Most people bail out around 3-4 am. The hardest part comes around 6-7 am, when the sun starts rising and you feel like you can give in, then you realize you have shit to do in an hour so there is no point sleeping till 1-2 am the next day.

And if you're like me the cycle repeats itself, so don't plan on sleeping for the next 3-4 days.
