Of course it has to be Johan Liebert from Monster. His disturbing smile and his calm voice would literately scare the crap out of anybody, if not kill them altogether.

Proof that you don't need superpowers or evil acts for the lolz to be the coolest villain ever.

Response to: American Football Discussion Posted March 20th, 2012 in Clubs & Crews

Peyton Manning signed a 5 year, $95 million dollar contract with the Denver Broncos, which means it's the end of Tebowmania in Denver and probably just about everywhere else. {possible exception of Jacksonville if they get him.} With that move, it convinced Vegas to put the Broncos high up there in odds with Green Bay and New England, despite having a rather sub-par roster that will be around him. {of course, a few free agent signings might change that.} I guess they're gambling that Peyton's neck will hold up long enough for them to win a Super Bowl.

Even with the signing of Manning, I can't really see Denver as much of a championship contender. The WRs aren't that talented and their defense isn't really that spectacular at all, even when Tebow was the QB after the 5th game last season, so I don't know where they are all getting that Super Bowl hype from. Plus, there is going to be an adjustment period for Peyton after his neck surgeries, and with a pretty brutal schedule that they will have for next season, I can't really see them having more than 8 or 9 wins at most, and that might be generous.

Response to: Your Stance on Suicide? Posted March 19th, 2012 in General

While I don't necessarily condone most suicides, these things happen and there is nothing we can do to change that in the long term. Yes, there are always counseling and having a friend system can help someone from going over the edge, but sometimes that's not enough, whether it's apathy/denial on their part, or they're part of the problem and not the solution. Ultimately, it's up to the individual person whether they want to take their own life, and calling it shortsighted, selfish or anything like that is pretty shortsighted in itself.

As cruel as it sounds, when someone commits suicide, they are doing Darwin's work. It's certainly not the prettiest way, nor would I wish it on anyone I know, but sometimes the herd needs to be thinned out from time to time in order to maintain a balance, and in all honesty, the sooner we learn that, the better off we will be down the road.

Response to: Fall of Gaming? Posted March 18th, 2012 in Video Games

I really don't think that gaming is going to fall anytime soon, they're just too big and influential right now for it to fall apart like that, especially when the economy tanked a couple of years ago, there were still AAA titles that were selling like hotcakes and independent and lesser known studios and developers were pushing the limits. While there is no decline in gaming now or in the near future, there is still one part of it that it seems to drag its feet around, and yet seem to ignore.

It's the single player in most games, particularly in FPS. I've noticed that a lot of games and even developers just seem to simply cut back on the single player a lot, almost to the point where it's simply just tacked on, and just let the online multiplayer mode carry the weight. While I understand that online gaming has exploded in popularity over the last 5 years or so, and almost every game now has that feature, it doesn't mean that the single player experience should be sacrificed just for that. Of course, achievements/trophies {or high scores, if they still have them} somewhat remedies that problem encouraging replayability, but it just doesn't feel the same after going through it once, almost like it's a mindless chore to get them, and we still hear about people having a pissing contest about who has the highest achievement score or most trophies.

In short, gaming is only going up from here, both in technology and quality of games, {though you still have a few clunkers out there for whatever reason.} but it's certainly not a perfect business out there.

Response to: Are you a fan? Posted March 17th, 2012 in Video Games

As long as the argument for or against any video game makes some sense, and avoids the general buzzwords of most arguments, {i.e greatest/worst game of all time, overrated, and/or X game is better than Y game.} then I would at least read it and consider whether to get said game or not.

I really have no brand loyalty to a developer or game franchise, I judge them solely on the individual games that are made under them, for example, I don't particularly care for Activision or EA as game developers, although I thought MW3 wasn't that bad, and I enjoyed Bulletstorm a lot.

I'm a former smoker and I knew that it was a bad habit to begin with, but I don't have much of a problem with people smoking at all, except for the smoke. Since my parents and most of my family are smokers, {or former smokers} I used to think it was just natural for me to light up as well, despite all those anti-smoking ads and sessions that I was in at school saying that cigarettes are bad.

As for the smoke, I didn't mind it as much when I did smoke, but when I quit, I didn't want to be near it anymore and still don't. Compared to everything else about smoking tobacco, the smoke itself is absolutely the worst thing.

Response to: Why Do White People Hate Obama? Posted March 15th, 2012 in General

I may not be the biggest fan of Obama's policies or Obama as president in general, but at the very least, he's not that bad of a president once you think about the mess he inherited under Bush. I think the reason why there is so much hate for Obama is because a lot of people {most notably the liberal media, and the politically ignorant.} thought that he was a proverbial wizard who could solve of America's problems with a snap, and when that didn't happen, they pretty much turned on him.

As for white people hating Obama, that's a pretty broad statement on it's own right, considering that there are many different reasons why. They pretty much range from typical Republican attacks and general criticism of his policies, {which some of them are valid to a degree.} to going off on a different tangent about being a secret Muslim, not being born on this country and his race. {Nothing really we can do about that, though it's sad that people used stuff like this against him early on, despite factual evidence telling otherwise.}

I'm honestly shocked that neither Andrew Jackson nor Teddy Roosevelt got picked #1. Both were war heroes, had hot lead in them, and became president where they took no shit from anybody, not like today's soft, weak leaders who try to be all PC and shit.

I mean, Jackson fought and commanded against the British, and both times kicked their ass. While Teddy went up against bears, deer and killed them, while going up against Spain for Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines and well, kicked their ass, Not to mention he made Lawrence of Arabia his bitch despite having a 30+ year advantage in technology for Mr. Lawrence.

Well, I can easily chalk this up as "did not do the research." which the Browns almost always do when it comes to trades. Don't worry though, The Browns may have another shitty season next year, but if they tank enough games, they might get Matt Barkley to replace what's left of Colt McCoy. {if they can peel what's left of him off that turf.}

Actually, I would rather that they go back to 65 teams instead of 68, because 95 times out of 100, the teams that end up playing in the play-in games are going to end up either as hugely flawed teams that got in when they really shouldn't, or they won an inferior conference tournament and play to see who's getting a beat down from a #1 seed.

Ok, I have to stop you right here. Al-Awlaki may have been a U.S. citizen, but he was the leader of an Al-Qaeda terror cell in Yemen. Last time I checked, we are at war with Al-Qaeda, and when you join their side, you should lose your rights as an American citizen, and not get the benefit of the doubt by having a trial. Give some credit to the Japanese for being ambitious, as they usually are, but an elevator to space seems to remind me a little bit of the Babel Tower, but without the religious aspect. A giant freaking spire on a seismically active area will most likely end in a complete fucking disaster when all that building material falls down to Earth, and I for one rather not have to dodge falling debris from a space elevator.

Just because they got that idea from an anime, {or South Park} does not mean it's a good idea in real life, but I guess that hasn't stopped them from trying.

You do notice that this is one member of the military who commited this crime does not represent the vast majority of the US military who serve this country, right? Losing respect for the military because of one person's fuckup is about as ignorant and sad as the people who still hold a grudge at the Japanese for what they did 70 years ago.

It's ignorant statements like that that degrade our military just because of one person, and insults our intelligence into thinking that's considered acceptable by our standards, compared to what the Taliban does every day. Let me guess, you probably think that the A-bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were considered disrespectful too?

Response to: Impeach Obama (?) Posted March 11th, 2012 in Politics

Simply down to brass tacks here, the president is the commander-in-chief of the military, which means he has complete control of the military. Since you're referring to our involvement of Libya, it was considered not only legal for the president to do, {wise or not is up for debate.} but in no way can that be charged for high crimes and impeachment. I mean, if Truman, Nixon and both the Bush presidents declared "war" on other countries and there was no impeachment because of that, then Obama isn't up for impeachment.

Since the article of the Constitution wasn't specifically clear on such a matter as this, the president can use the military against another country without specifically declaring war, {by calling it a military action or something around those lines.} almost like a loophole.

In other words, it's legal on a technical level, but whether or not it's a good decision in the short and long term run is up for legitimate debate.

I don't know if you would consider him a celebrity, but Fidel Castro is probably the next famous person to kick the bucket. Considering that dictators have been dropping like flies over the past year or so, it only makes sense that Fidel would be next.

I'm fairly sure it is, considering most traveling gun shows I've been to, all you need is to be 18 and have some sort of ID with you. I would probably check the state level laws in Oregon to see how long you have to wait, and/or if you need to jump through any legal hoops that they have, {and since Oregon is largely a liberal state last time I checked, gut feeling, you'll be waiting for a while.} before getting your hands on a gun.

It would be wise for Houston to at least take a serious look at Manning, because as productive as Schaub has been over the years, he can be up and down, particularly at the latter half of the seasons where they had a chance to make the playoffs and failed. With their powerful running game that they never had in Indy, Andre Johnson {when healthy} as their ultimate go-to WR, and a stingy defense on board, that's going to be their best chance at getting to a Super Bowl if they get Manning.

That being said I'd rather not have to deal with Peyton in Miami.

Or to the Jets, but that's not going to happen. Jets have way too many 2nd tier piecemeal parts on the skill positions, and a coach who's not as good as most people would think, especially when he coaches offense like it's the 1950's.

I mean, if chanting USA is considered racist/bigoted, then how do you explain the fans who chanted USA in Philadelphia when they heard that Bin Laden was killed then?

Some people can be such big babies when it comes to anything from a PR standpoint, especially since there are a lot worse things that are being said in many other sports stadiums everywhere, and no one raises an eyebrow over that. If these PR people have an issue with something as trivial as this, then they really need to go outside and play more. {preferably in traffic.}

Response to: Military will soon read your emails Posted March 7th, 2012 in General

Yeah, I don't think that the military will bother with this too much, considering it's a huge waste of time to get to all of the billions of e-mails out there in many different accounts that people have, just to look for something incriminating, not to mention the right of privacy without warrant, infringement on the First Amendment, {probably find some sort of loopholes for that.} and dealing with the endless torrent of Nigerian lottery scams, cheap penis enhancements and porn/hentai/yiff ads.

Kind of makes me wonder why people get into such a fit over stuff like this. It's not like they care about the 99% of the e-mails that fly around the Internet to person to person, and even if they find one that they're looking for, they still have to go through the courts to get the warrant to carry out the plan, unless they want to take a massive PR hit by the public.

In short, much ado about nothing.

It's not the worst thing to happen but there is no way the NFL can't do absolutely nothing. Sure it's more PR driven than say, from a moral standpoint, because players do go out and try and hurt others every play regardless of a bounty, but you can't have an active system of doing it. It's just a black eye for the league more than anything.

My thoughts exactly, if this were to spill out say 10 years ago or so, than no one would even bother. But when former players are suing the league for misdiagnosed concussions and whatnot, they have to clamp down on stuff like this, or else it turns into more ammo for the former players in the courts and the critics who say that football is too violent.

Of course with that said, the bounty system didn't exactly do them too many favors when their defense got shredded constantly in the regular season, and in their playoff losses to Seattle and San Francisco which honestly, they had no business losing to either one of them, consider one was a 7-9 team that backed in the playoffs, and the other one had Alex Smith as QB, but that's a different discussion for another day.

And Manning is/was going to be released from the Colts. I knew it was going to happen some day but I never thought this soon even though it has been 14 years. Any guess to where he is going to go? And over/under 26 TDs where ever he goes?

Dolphins and Redskins sound tempting to Manning, but they're not exactly SB contenders, so he may have some doubts about going there. I wouldn't be surprised if Peyton ends up in Houston, taking over for Schaub, who's productive, but is up and down a lot, and Yates, who was a caretaker QB at best. If he does go to the Texans, I would expect less than 26 pass TDs, considering his age and Foster and Tate would be able to carry much more of the offensive load than in Indianapolis.
