Sselect the sprite and press F8, then select Graphic.
Now press CTRL+F3 to open Properties, if it isn't opened already, then in the middle of the properties bar you'll see "Colour" - click on "None" to bring down the drop-down menu and choose "Alpha"

On the right you will see a percentage - 0 is invisible, 50 is semi-transparent and 100 is completely opaque.

Try the bandwidth monitor: Go into the main Steam Games window that you had open in your screenshot and go to View -> Bandwidth Monitor

It's buggy but it shows your download speed and all that.

Well, I live in South Africa and we've had huge power problems - deliberate power cuts of up to a whole day. That has stopped for many months now, but who knows what's next? I'm quite happy staying here for now until I've completed my tertiary education. You should read our local forums, so many different opinions, but most lean towards "We're fucked."

I think Jacob Zuma will come into power. He's already the president of the ANC party... Most of the country supports him (I don't know why - he's been accused of rape and taking a shower afterwards to get rid of teh AIDS) and this was evident in his recent fraud case, which he won. I'd rather not imagine how his supporters (a large majority of an already huge majority - blacks against the minority of whites) would've taken the news that Zuma didn't get let off. They get rowdy about these things.

I've been exporting to .mov and then converting it to .avi in Sony Vegas 7. Quicktime is awesome IMO, with its vcam, AS and movieclip support but I'm going to try some of these other programs that have been linked :O

Can you host the actual source file for the game, the file that you open when you edit the game, the .fla, NOT the exported .swf. Then I can look at the code and everything!

In firefox, go to the deviantart submission's page, Ctrl+S and save to desktop. Look for something like "name of deviation+numbers_files" and the swf is in there, in a folder called something like "a_data"!

I don't know much about over-clocking. Would I have to buy an 8800GT, then get it overclocked, or buy one already overclocked?

Isn't over-clocking just a matter of changing the hardware's resources and stuff in BIOS?

And if that white number on the little red tab on the back of my PC, where the PSU is, is the Wattage, it's 230. Enough?

Yo, I'm looking to upgrade my PC's graphics card. I'm currently running a Geforce 7600, which is teh suck.

My sys specs:
Core 2 duo 2.2ghz
GF 7600 256MB PCI-E
2GB RAM DDR2
760 GB HDD (shouldn't matter :P)
XP PRO

So, if I was to upgrade from a 7600 to <THIS>, I shouldn't encounter any problems, right? The card's DDR3 RAM is irrelevant to my PC's DDR2 RAM, right?

Also, if that doesn't work, try making an audio clip of silence that's the same length as your movie (you can use Audacity for this), then stream it over everything. This usually aligns all the random sounds to the silent one, thus fixing the problem.

Luckily I'm pro, and found the Generate->Silence option :P
That worked great. Thanks a lot!

I'm on a shitty school PC at the moment, which has no sound. I'll try make it into one scene later, when I get home.

The thing is, I've made a scene-selector and the one option is to go to where the music starts going out of sync. If I go straight there from the menu, the sound's perfect.

BBL, lessons now.

Yes, all the sounds are in stream. It's not one long track over the movie, though. It's a bunch of individual sounds and a few music tracks.

Yo, my flash is beginning to go out of sync as it gets longer. It's 3 minutes, 15 seconds at the moment, and in about the last minute the sound becomes delayed.

I have 2 scenes:
The first one has 4403 frames.
The second one has 1297 frames.

Is it because of the number of frames / the length of the movie, that it's beginning to lag?
Any suggestions, thnx?

This may work, not too sure :P

I couldn't find much else with pausing both the timeline and all MC's. Your best bet would be to use fewer movieclips, and use instancename_mc.stop();
