Response to: Original madness sounds? Posted September 7th, 2009 in Game Development

At 9/7/09 01:34 PM, FlashtooREV wrote: There's no such thing as "original madness sounds". Every sound effect in any madness movie is just another sound effect, and nothing more.
Get your sound effects by Googling, FlashKit or StoneWashed.
All 100% free.

Buttttt..... if you want the EXACT sounds from madness, look up some madness sprite sheets.

Response to: is there a way too... Posted September 7th, 2009 in Game Development

not to my knowledge.

And also, instead of looking for source code to stea- I mean learn, why not LEARN some basic actionscript. And graphics might be your first concern.

And also, start with more simple games. :)

You could do pivot for a bit, it's free ( Pivot Stickfigure Animator, google it ) and mainly for 2d sticks but it's easy to learn and a good introduction to the basics of animation.

Okay, thanks for the blunt-ness.... or not. Also, what have you ever made? Just discouraging everyone arrogantly doesn't help anyone.

:Honestly, it's a little annoying. Maybe WASD + Mouse and click to shoot?

Yeah... yeah, I guess so. I just thought it would be cooler, and it worked ok on my laptop keyboard.
So I won't bother. Not that I have or ever will bother.

Dual-wield shooter game Posted September 6th, 2009 in Game Development

I've just started working on this little game:

http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1252253306

which is an extremely basic idea of a game where you are first person and shoot people with two guns that move independently. Use WASD for the left and IJKL for the right, SPACE to fire.

Does anyone think this is a good idea? Each level would have people who pop out in different places so you have to react quickly and move both reticules. Help/ideas/criticism appreciated!

here's one of my fav pictures, drawn while slightly drunk.

Aahaaaaaaah I just winced with awesomeness. Also, props to all these drawings :DD

Tbh it could be worse. Take off the lines on the sunbeams, make it longer, more actual animation.

At 9/5/09 12:17 AM, Nateofwar wrote: well... if your making your first flash game EVER i would definately not recomend any sort of survival RPG. if you want somthing that is pretty good and pretty easy id start with like a point and click shooter but if you think you could handle it you can get some good info from the '08 flash collab or the ultimate platformer tut(sorry i dont got links).

I don't want to be annoying, but Con-Artists specifically stated that "The Last Stand" was his first game. Ahahahahahahahaha but srs, you are right.

Response to: What do you think of this game? Posted September 5th, 2009 in Game Development

No offence, but that is completely unworthy of 3.5 score. It's just a *probably* copied or at least widely available ragdoll code, and although the blood was ok it's not an actual game. You need to add some form of goal or game mechanic to make it a game. There is no aim to it and people have made far better games with a lower score than that.
