Anyone here planning to hit the expo? I plan to head down either Friday or Saturday.

Also, has anyone had any problems viewing submissions this week? I had some complaints from people who said they couldn't watch the submissions, but it could be a fluke - just wanna check.

With the holidays fast approaching, it's once again time to give the gift of Wacoms! I'm placing a huge order and need to know who the most deserving contributors are. Previous recipients went on to make stuff like this:

Submitting your information will not guarantee you a tablet, and PLEASE don't apply unless you have a proven track record on Newgrounds; examples include high scoring submissions, submissions that have won awards, or artwork from art contests. Also don't apply unless you really want a tablet and will put it to good use.

To apply, PM me with the following info in this specific order:

1. The subject "WACOM TABLET"
2. Your full name and mailing address.
3. A brief or long story about why you want a tablet and what you hope to accomplish with it.
4. Direct links to your best Flash or art forum contributions.

This year we are giving out the Bamboo Fun Medium. The BFM is roughly 6x8 and suitable for the majority of Flash and Photoshop users. We have previously given out the Intuos 3, but feedback we've received says the BFM addresses the needs of artists who aren't using the tablet for simulated painting. This change in price allows us to give away a lot more tablets in the future, as we will be giving them out regularly as prizes in art contests.

It's also time for our annual Holiday Flash contest! Check out the Christmas 2008 page for contest rules and prizes. Submissions can have a general holiday or winter theme, or be specifically about Christmas. Get CREATIVE and make something that will last throughout the ages, because this page will exist FOREVER.

Here's another overlooked Halloween 2008 submission, from rising star TheBoogley. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/46 6739
You may also know his work from this amazing collab he recently organized:

How's about this for flash portal history!?

Also I hope to finish getting the RESPECT I DON'T DESERVE by reviewing things awesomely!

Thanks to TOM! You made the right choice by putting Fucking Kids in the Gems! And you remembered to post a flash gem at the end of your post! Bravo!

ATTENTION READERS DON'T READ ON IF YOU HATE CURSE WORDS OR ARE SENSITIVE TO BAD STUFF!

I wonder why your work didn't place? I really do! I mean your skills are amazing! And when you first released your short flash to portal the first thing that happened is it went straight to the front page!

I have no doubt in my mind that the NG Staff like your work. However, there were plenty of negative reviews about Fucking Kids, ( "WHY IS THIS ON THE FRONT PAGE!!!" that kind of stuff), probably because your so good at going over lines nobody else does? I mean Hitler costumes and giant dicks and rape... These are touchy subjects.

BUT FUCKING A ! ! ! WHY THE FUCK ARE PEOPLE SO SCARED TO LOOK AT A SILLY FUCKING ANIMATION!? THIS WORLD IS TERRIBLE BUT WHAT MUST DO WHAT WE CAN!!!!

Anyway, this is unrelated, but I guess Cereal made his last flash!

I completely agree. I'm sure there's a good answer. Probably something along the lines of there's always less games to pick from than animations.

Maybe they shouldn't seperate games from movies anymore and just vote on overall best submissions, seeing on how most games have cut scenes in the and the same great animation and art work and movies!

Kudos for bringing this up!

Here's a funny flash!

In your defense, I want to say that you did not say anything about being upset at where you were placed in the judgement. All you said was that you were pissed. You never said why.

LOL people were heated. I was too, UNTIL I found your post and read it.

LOL you're allowed to be pissed and people should maybe chill before they jump to conclusions. But you should maybe have said what you said now, earlier! instead of being just like "I'm so pissed off!" and leaving it at that.

;)

In other news! I have bad news to report: I just noticed that I was, in fact, NOT the first one to mention Killing time InBreak room for the "Winning Lost Gem" of this years Halloween flash off! I missed it because the first guy posted his link poorly and I skipped over it.

Since I now have no chance at winning the contest because I was a duche bag I am going to post a new submission that always seems to cheer me up when I'm down.

BTW I'm also changing my choice to last piece of cake two! It's the best submission OF THE YEAR! Not just Halloween.

CHECK OUT BINDLE DOG! That was my personal favorite out of these picks!

LOL Just thought I'd say so!

Response to: Halloween 2008 Results Posted November 7th, 2008 in NG News

I hope you haven't found a Gem you like yet Tom!

Although I think there have already been some good picks by other peeps! Overbite and Three's Horrible!

Here's my pick for overlooked Gem! It was super overlooked because it's not even in the Halloween 2008 page!

but it does mention the Halloween page in it's page!

It's got good art and animation. It may not be scary, but it's cool~ I mean it's a cool and funny too! LOL and dracula is totally gay! It employs music through out it's entirety that fits in well. The end is toally bloody. And there's eyeballs in the breakrooms water cooler! Where do they get there water from, crystal Eyeser? HAHAHA!
-lame joke sorry-
Hey demons come in all sizes and colors, you don't want to take this chicks juice box.

Anyway Good Luck everyone!

Other than that here's a couple of random things I thought also got overlooked.
This was good for a first submissioN!

How will I know if I am one of the 2000 most active voters? Is there a post about it?

Response to: Aura definitions? Posted November 2nd, 2008 in Where is / How to?

It all makes sense to me! I picked the Light aura a long time ago before I even got into voting on under judgement flashes! Which I spend a reasonable amount of time doing every day now!

I do tend to save more flashes then blam! Take a look at my userpage see for yourself!! And I have always been a light aura. Just cause I'm so nice.

GO AND APOLOGIZE YOU MEANIE
I actually have some explanations for this:

1) I had seen Charlie & the LOL Factory when it first came out and it narrowly missed getting front paged.

2) When it was brought up in the treasure hunt, it was still a new submission on the site (it was released in mid-October) and I still considered it a new submission still on the backburner for front page.

3) I ended up never front paging it after all... Whoops. :(

HOLY COW DUDES!

Okay I am trying to watch all these films, but wow! I mean there are a lot, and I on't know if my favorites has room enough!! I mean I already added Comfort, The Greyhound, and the one with the pinky stripy thing! lulz

Seriously I have only watched 6 of them so far, and I am in love with NG more than ever now. I never realized how many flash works or art go unnoticed. And it's not a bad thing, but it's like wow.

I mean the only really popular flashes are from the usual peeps and a couple of random others. But most of what I am watching now is better then the shit on the Top 50.

I'm not upset or anything because THAT'S LIFE! But I am just fucking happy that NG has a treaure hunt. I think this should be a monthly thing!

Anyway back to my NG Home Work from Tom! LOL I gotta watch these films man it's addictive. And hey I have no job and I don't go to school so... Hell, it pays to be a starving artist/ Pro Gambler ;)

JK kids DON'T GAMBLE!

Yeah, I was tempted to post some of these as text links, but I just hate trying to prioritize what should be seen and what shouldn't, which is why I'm really pushing that people sit their ass down and watch it ALL this weekend for the sake of NG CITIZENSHIP and shit.

YOU GUYS HERE THAT?! TOM SAYS SIT YOUR ASS DOWN AND BE CIVIL! Or something like that....
