Here's a little something I threw up on Youtube:

Edwyn Tiong's Voiceover Demo Reel 2013

I've been here forever and I'm old, cranky, crusty and I smell vaguely of cheese. The fancy kind!

1) https://www.voices.com/resources/rates lists some nice rates, but I honestly never expect to receive anything close to what these are. I've been pleasantly surprised a couple of times, but making a living on VAing? Pshaw.

2) Most clients I worked for either do a flat fee or by line. Me, I do it by line or have a per minute rate if it's a narration kind of deal.

3) Do I expect to be paid more for emotional/stressful voices...? Not... really...? Once you've been cast for a role, you're expected to take whatever the role may throw at you, no matter where on the emotional spectrum roller-coaster the character may be at. Caveat to that though: is if the producer forces YOU as a human being to go on an emotional spectrum roller-coaster by being a colossal douche bag. Then, if they haven't named their rates, I just quietly jack up my rates and feel absolutely no guilt for doing so. Call it my "asshole" fee.

4) Expect tips? No. This isn't the hospitality and services industry, after all - where I argue that tipping isn't so much a "gratuity" as it is a "necessity" (but that's a topic for debate for another time). But do I welcome a tip, when it does happen occasionally (eg in the form of a free copy of the game I'm working on or other somesuch)? Then yes, absolutely!

5) Most of the time, the client's name their price anyway - and it honestly makes things easier on everyone if they do. That way, they show what they can afford and I don't necessarily have to try out for the role if I think the pay is too lowball (even for me!).

Additional useful information:
Been doing this for about 15 years now - have had quite a few paid work under my belt, but I'd say the majority of my work is still done for free or for some unspecified ad revenue that usually comes in the form of cents and half-cents. And if you expect to charge for your voice acting work when you first start out then buddy you're in for a rude awakening hahahaha

The VAC link is the official messageboard for the then "Newgrounds Voice Acting Club". So anybody looking for or "aspiring" to become a voice actor should lodge their interest there. Just go to the VAC and VAA and see for yourself. Plenty of opportunities to "aspire to become a voice actor" there - flash animations or otherwise. Heck of a lot more to do than around here at any rate. Unless you're the type that likes to wait for people to PM you and ask you to do voiceovers for them based on a single posting in this thread. Which is highly unlikely at best.
