Ok. I have now picked a song and it's coming along nicely. Been working on it for hours every day and it's over half way now! (unless I put easter eggs in *wink wink*) You can still post ideas here if any of you have any, but I think it's doing quite well, and it is probably, in my opinion, better than the previous.

Ok, so about a year back I submitted a cartoon called Gravity's Just A Theory, and people seemed to like it (daily first, 4.22)

So I thought I would do another. Similar style and stuff, but a different song. I've been looking for a song for a while now, and can't make up my mind. Does anyone know of any similar songs to 'Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners' by Foo Fighters? or something that would work equally well?

Also, if you want to see anything in this new cartoon or have ideas that you really want me to put in, let me know and I'll see what I can do :)

It's www.ogvidius.com

the .tk was a beta test I did of a design that is really old.

Well, I took some of the suggestions on board, and redesigned, again. It's now a bit more colourful, and just generally neater, a bit bigger and generally better I hope.

www.ogvidius.com

criticism/testing/improvements and such are welcome as usual.

Also, add a footer to your site or at the very least add some padding to the bottom. The second box looks weird sticking to the bottom of the screen. Other than that, keep up the good work :)

k, I'll try it out. I forgot about adding footers, it does like quite odd stuck to the bottom, that's right :D Thanks for the suggestions.

It looks really good. You could make the links bit (at the side) a bit more colourful though.

Yeah, that's a good point, just like a dull colour or something?

and the guy above talking about the buttons on the left was talking about the old site by the way, it's ogvidius.com now, unfortunately I couldn't keep the % width thing due to the background image and other things, but it should still look fine. If you guys want to test things out if you have an unusual resolution or browser, and just make sure it looks fine, that would be great :D I've tested it on most browsers and resolutions but there's always one thing that doesn't work that I miss xD

hmmm, maybe. Any other suggestions?

The only problem I have at the moment is that, well, as it's a website for animations and graphic design it's not quite as colourful and exciting as one would expect. I'm almost wanting to redesign the whole thing, even before this version has been launched :D

So I'm currently designing my website for my design, animation and film work to be showcased on. I quite like how it looks at the moment, but I think it could be improved, any suggestions? I think it looks a little boring at the moment, but I guess it's a sort of minimal clean theme.

Here's a picture:

http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/230409/6 4502_web_test.jpg

And here's a really early, really sticky beta test with various things not finished:

www.ogvidius.tk

And if you are going to suggest coding things, please keep in mind I am trying to keep the code all valid XHTML 1.1 and do most of my styling in CSS.

Thanks.

Yeah, that's why it's so exciting! :D I love steam also but I don't think it should be compared to this at all, I will most likely use both, steam and onlive are totally seperate things. I like the idea of being able to play a game on my gaming PC, then go off to a friend's house or somewhere that may not have a great gaming PC and pick the game up where I left off, instantly!

We know that it works and it has been tested out by many at the GDC so please, don't anyone say it's fake or won't work because it does, at least in a controlled environment, the real test will come this summer when it beta tests across America.

No doubt Microsoft will come up with a very similar product soon that they "didn't steal".

But I'm sure the consumer does like this, every game in one place without having to upgrade your machine, download / install games. Plus you can spectecate your friends, play 2p non-online games with your friends, and play games from all consoles.

Now this is what I want, a single place to play all games without any trouble, and all these extra features are a great bonus.

I completely agree.
And PLEASE stop the poo flinging everyone!

:THEY WERE JUST FOUNDED!!!!

No they weren't, this has been in development for almost a decade. These guys have done lots of work before, they invented quicktime and other web stuff and they're just joining together for a new project, it was just announced, but they weren't just founded. Read the facts before posting please.

Guys! Will you please READ the stuff before you comment about all the latency issues it's going to have. This is not a 'new' technology. It has been in development for almost a decade and it's only just been announced. I doubt it's going to totally change the way games are played, but it's a great alternative to those that want to play games instantly and cheaply without having to upgrade their PCs. The guys working on this were the original developers of lots of things like quicktime, when they said they hardly knew what streaming was. They have completely reinvented video compression and it's going to be instant. There will be NO LAG BETWEEN INPUT AND A RESPONSE.

Here's what IGN think of it when they got their hands on it at GDC, they said it works fine but they just need to see if it works when it goes global. The system WORKS, the only worry now is if it works when it's released worldwide.

http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/965/965542 p1.html

You guys are right to be sceptical because it sounds like it's impossible, but please don't poo fling and say things without any evidence. Thanks.

If it costs, say, 50$ a month, meaning 600$ yearly, you can buy a pretty good computer which can play current games nicely for that price.

Firstly, it does have latency, of course, but it's so small that humans can't notice it. Obviously it will be thoroughly beta tested etc. and it will just need a plugin for your browser. Also, you can buy the little box if you want to play it on your TV which will cost less than a Wii. As well as being able to play people on PCs of Macs, they won't be restricted to certain consoles. As I said, this won't be for everyone and there will still be the option to buy your consoles and gaming PCs but this provides a nice cheap alternative for those that meet the requirements.
