It's hard to give an impression of what you can do in a small post, but I've written in lots of different video game styles like Metal Gear, Sonic, Final Fantasy and Zelda.
Though it'd be really fun to come up with something more original based on what the game needs and really make it fit.
I'm also open to doing music for projects not related to the power of 3.
Does anyone know what the music in Sniper Year One is?
It's got that cool spy film style to it :) It's good quality, but the instruments don't quite sound proper film music quality.

I also approve of trying to keep the genre list down and only adding when needed. It can be frustrating having genres disorganized and means you miss out on lots of films. It also just feels messy and unpleasant.
So keeping things like "sci-fi" and other things that aren't covered by genre confined to tags seems a good idea. But how come only 3 tag options? It's hard if your movie is a parody of something and you want to write the title of the parody, but most titles are at least 3 words already, so there's not room for other things that the movie might be.
But also need to be cautious of abuse, I suppose. We don't want hundreds of spam movies all with tags like: "FINAL FANTASY METAL GEAR HALO 300 MATRIX DRAGONBALL Z AWESOME COOL SEXY BOOBS FUNNY"
I've just realized the 'edit' option has vanished on some of my audio submissions. I imagine this is to do with them being used in films, but how am I supposed to edit the author comment or give them preview pictures? I'm not sure if this is a glitch to do with the update or not, so sorry if this is not a new thing.

Forcing a minimum profit share sounds a bad idea. Some people may have already agreed on not wanting anything from it and that's their choice. Forcing a minimum just takes away options for flash makers.
I also think it may dis-encourage some people from using music from the audio portal, especially if they are considering using a few tracks. It would be a damn shame if less people used the audio portal.
Also, the minimum profit is so small that it's not going to be solving anything anyway. If someone thinks they deserve a profit but the author isn't giving them any, then they're hardly going to jump for joy at getting 1%.
Other than that, the new improvements are very cool and exciting :D Keep up the excellent work, guys!

I got a shock when mine said 40MB, then I deleted all the reference videos I didn't need any more and clicked 'Save and Compact' and I went down to a tidy 7MB.

Haha, I can relate to that. It's taken me ages to find people who can actually give any sort of criticism. My last big project suffered a bit from people only focusing on the good points. It wasn't until I submitted it to NewGrounds that I got any *real* crit.

Another Q: I'm making an adventure style game. If I use named frames for every time I want to change frames, am I going to be setting my self up for trouble later?
If I use frame numbers I can't edit in new frames for what ever reason (without having to re-do every goto after the change).
Think it will be ok as long as I'm descriptive with the frame names and don't do any doubles?
I want to find the most efficient way to do this.
I've checked the mask is set up properly and even remade it. The button works normally within Flash and only messes up when I watch it in preview by pressing CTRL + Enter.

I've got a button with a masking layer inside it and when I preview it shows the mask layer as if it was a normal layer.
It didn't do this before and I can't seem to get it back, even if I copy the button to another flash file.
Also, is there any way to to gotoAndPlay to the next frame without writing in the number of the frame? I tried gotoAndPlay(nextFrame); but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Seems like a stupid question, but say you've got a decent movie, how can you get enough people to see it, so enough people will vote on it, so it will get in some of the "Best of the..." lists, so more people will actually see it?
I thought that, as long as your movie was good, then people would see it.
I've recently submitted my first serious short, and so far it's got great reviews and most people really like it. I got daily 5th, but now that day has passed and I'm barely getting any new people seeing it as it's not anywhere that people can find it other than happening to find it by looking at other people's favorites.
It's like a paradox: How can you get on one of the lists so people will discover your movie if people *haven't* discovered your movie, so it's not on any of the lists o_O

You should add a basic shadow to Snake
Out side of the NewGrounds style, you can still collaborate with people online (e.g. people you already know) and this can be really useful.
There are still some of the problems of being more delayed in response time from time zones, etc. But one of the pros of this is it can be done more in your own time. If it were in real life with other people, there would have to be a lot more focusing on it and having to do it an set times when the other person is available.
If you were doing it online, you could potentially manage doing another unrelated project at the same time, because you have more freedom over time management.

I can just about follow before the //. But after that I get lost. I'm not even sure what 'while' does.
I can get the random numbers in the array all fine. I just can't work out how to make it so there are no doubles and they're all different numbers.
How would I make it check if it was a number in the array? And how would I get it to go back and randomly make a number until it's a new one?
I have 9 movie clips/variables and I want to randomly assign each one of those a number from 1 - 20. This would be simple, but I want to make it so no movie clips/variables are assigned the same number as another one. Each one must have a unique number from 1 to 20.
How the heck can I do this?
Is there code to change a movie clip to another movie clip in the library?
I searched in the BBS and tutorials but haven't been able to find anything on this.

Couldn't you code it where you set each object as a different variable and to move at different speeds?
So when you want it to move, it moves the background by 1, a background object by 2, the foreground by 3 and an object in front by 4.
