Good fucking lord.
I'm finally done. And only... 23.5 hours after the original deadline...

Contender for the slowest animator ever.

Not sure I can find the right sound effects tho. I need a pot smashing sound and banging a table.

Response to: 24 Hour Challenge 2 Posted September 6th, 2010 in Collaboration

The screen cat was so freaking awesome. I said it at the time, but I wouldn't have been able to go so long if we weren't all there.
I'll have to join you guys for the skype next time.

If anyone else is in a different time zone and still finishing off, give me a PM with your msn and I'll get a chat room going.

btw, if you guys want, I can quickly do an ambient version of the track for menus or credits.

Oh oh, if we're having bios, they should totally have a picture of us dressed as a samurai on our pages :DDD

Such an awesome collab!

Shit, I didn't realise we had to have it as CS3. I also only have CS5, can anyone help me out with what to do?

That part will sound a lot bigger in the final song. You have my fav part of it, so use it well ;)

I'm up for a section :)

Can't promice it'll be long tho...

Response to: Ng London Meet VII 2010 Posted August 8th, 2010 in General

It was awesome meeting all you guys! I feel like this was the first meet I got a proper chance to hang out and get to know everyone. You're a really lovely bunch. I wish I could have been there for longer.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes :D Even to those who thought the badge was sarcastic at first.

And thanks for the birthday meal and doing a freaking awesome job hosting, Luis!

I feel really bad, but there were so many new people that I can't remember everyone's name. (It's difficult when you have to remember both the name "Steve" and "BlackDragon50" for everyone. How do you guys manage?). So if you remember hanging out with me, do shoot me a PM :)

Response to: Ng London Meet VII 2010 Posted August 4th, 2010 in General

Looks like I can only come for the main day. At least it's the best day :D

Does anyone know if the tubes stop running after a certain time of night?

Response to: Newground songs in Youtube Videos Posted August 4th, 2010 in Audio

It's polite to ask the author, but you don't actually have to. As JinNJuice said, once it's on the audio portal you can legally use it anywhere.

Lots of artists would love to at least know if their music has been used though.

Response to: Ng London Meet VII 2010 Posted August 4th, 2010 in General

There are a fair few people on there who aren't necessarily coming. I think it's the same guest list from the meet two years ago.
At least it gives people some idea though

Response to: Ng London Meet VII 2010 Posted August 4th, 2010 in General

Does much usually happen on the Friday before Karaoke evening? I get the impression it's more of a laid back thing.

Just sorting out my travel, but hopefully see you all at the meet again!

Response to: The Roll Call Collab Posted July 30th, 2010 in Collaboration

Fun collab idea :D

I'll take a generic human for now :)

Is it possible to see the opening or the teacher calling a name so we have a better idea how our pieces will fit in?

FamiTracker is pretty good.

Does anyone know of any 16bit ones?

Response to: Ng Hip Hop Competition March 2010 Posted March 13th, 2010 in Audio

Sounds great.

I'm interested in the time trial one, but how much time will be given?
And will we be put into teams or do we need to find partners on our own first?

Looking forward to this!

Perfect loop sync? Posted February 18th, 2010 in Audio

I'm making a track for a flash game and it needs to loop perfectly, but every time I export it from audacity it either adds a very slight click or adds a semi-second to the beginning of the track so it doesn't sync up.

How can I export an audio track so it loops perfectly?

Response to: Audio Advertisements! Posted February 5th, 2010 in Audio

Thought I'd give this a try.

A Samurai Jack inspired track for build up and a battle.

Oh man, I can't believe I missed the sign ups for this!

But I'd still love to help in any way I can. So if anyone needs some guitar recording, just drop me a PM.

All the best to everyone involved. It sounds like it's gonna be sweet.

Response to: Vocalist needed for Pop song Posted January 13th, 2010 in Audio

Sounds awesome. Really needs a change and to be a bit longer though.

You should try searching for some singing communities. There are no doubt loads of people dying to find nice songs to sing for as long as you come to them.

'Grats Robo! Really nice piece.
Really fun contest. I'm looking forward to any more that are coming :)

Nathan, I know you said you didn't want to post the scores of everyone in case people thought they were unfair, but would you be opposed to posting an ordered runners up list, so people can get an idea how well they did instead?

Response to: Writer's Block... Posted August 28th, 2009 in Audio

If you want to write something in a specific genre but when you try it keeps turning out too similar, then try listening to a song in that genre that does it in a different way. Then try to pick out one (or multiple) things you like from it and try to do something in the same style (and if that comes out the same as before, try just directly copying it).

Then from there, build a new song on top of these ideas. It'll help you think about that genre in a different way, and you'll hear different things, because you won't be limited to your usual "starter" ideas.

ELO did this a lot with Beatles songs. They'd take a bar or two from a Beatles song, but then make a new song out of it. Listen to the bridge in "Day in the Life" by the Beatles and compare it to the beginning of "Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO. (And IIRC, the Beatles did the same from other songs too).

Don't be afraid you're "stealing". As long as you are adding lots of new ideas to it, and taking it in a bit of a different direction, then it's a great way to get inspiration.

(Wow, sweet. I didn't realize you were going to Blizz con)

Is there going to be honorable mentions or any comments so people who don't get one of the top places still get some idea of how their stacked up? :)

I agree with all the talk of a more mellow meet.

The benefit of a meet is you can get to know Newgrounds members in RL. And as cool as the current meets are, I'm always a bit disappointed that it's so hard to just talk to people over a loud arcade or when every one's drinking.

I'm still pretty new to the meets and don't know so many people yet, but if it's not a closed meet, I'd defiantly be up for a more low key one where everyone can just talk.

I also second there being internet access so we can see each other's work :D

Felt like going for a slightly different style. I really need to upgrade to a new program so I can instruments that don't sounds like crap :\

Tell me what you guys think :D

We share our birthdate.

Heh, it's the excuse everyone always tries to give. "I know I look young, but it's my birthday tomorrow". Which just makes annoying when it's actually true.

Happy 20th, BananaBreadMuffin & Bezman ;)

It was my birthday the day before the meet. Though when I told people "I turned 21 yesterday", no one wished me a happy birthday :( ...I cried my self to sleep that night.

Hey, Bez. If your server's down, can you not just make a flickr or other photo sharing account until September?

Excellent contest idea! I've been wanting there to be more creative contests like this :)

Will all the submissions be viewable at the end? I'd really love to hear all the different ideas everyone has for it. To me that sounds like one of the most exciting parts of this contest!

And what's with the bad vibe in the posts so far? This guy has given us a fun chellange to do together and discuss. Let's have some fun with it :D

I'm giving it a go in 4/4 time, but currently having a bit of trouble getting the motif variation to sound right without lots of changes to the theme. I might have the changes, but play it again in 3/4 time later on.

Response to: Wide Layout Posted May 27th, 2009 in NG News

I like it., but it's missing the option to close the flash and make it stop playing. You have to either open it as a pop up and then close it again, or exit the whole page.

Response to: Anyone here... Posted May 16th, 2009 in Game Development

Yeah, this is a very common problem among all the Flash artists I've spoken to.

I'd actually be interested to know if there's anyone here who doesn't have this problem or has found a way to deal with it.
