I'm really bored right now and I want to respond to something.
---"but for people who are against [furries], what's so bad about them!?"
Having been disillusioned to the happy-go-merry world that the media has spoon-fed me, I've come to expect humans to act like, well... humans. Everyone will find something they find disgusting - for most people, Minerva Mink giving head to Krystal Fox pretty much nails it. You can't justify being disgusted - disgust is an innate gut feeling you have, not something you logically conclude. Being disgusted by yiff, I think, is no more justified/irrational than being disgusted by chocolate raisins.
But here's what I think is irrational: the them-versus-us mentality will kick in, and the antifurries will not only attempt rationalize their disgust by linking furries to zoosadists, but also attach a moral status to private, harmless yiff fantasies.
But of course, the them-versus-us mentality works the other way around too. Having been disillusioned to the idea that the internet is serious business, I now think that furries who try to attach a moral status to someone's else innate disgust towards yiff is no more justified than the trolling, yiff-in-hell antifurry.
I am myself a furry, and I freely accept that other people find what I like disgusting to them - I don't try to change their innate gut feelings. I acknowledge that I'm a freak. A downright freaky freak of freakture. As long as no-one's trying to moralize having harmless thoughts, (or, oh god, POLITICIZING them) then it's fine with me.
In fact, some trolls (rationalization aside) claim that they're opposed to the furry fandom precisely BECAUSE some furries attempt to moralize those who find yiff disgusting. So don't call it a 'furry war' - that just exacerbates the problem.
And besides, it's a FREAKING FANTASY. Just get over what others get off to.
-----
P.S: Yes, I have an irrational disgust towards people who attempt to moralize things they have irrational disgusts over. But I don't moralize my disgust by saying that both sides of the 'furry war' are evil - misguided by a them-versus-us mentality, probably, but not evil.
