Response to: When your on newgrounds forum... Posted October 18th, 2007 in General

Sometimes I am at the work and sometimes I'm stretching at home. I often go on different websites at the same time, and watch the news while at it.

The rules state that you can't talk about illegal activities, but using a P2P program is not illegal as long as the content you are downloading is legal for free distribution.

Of course, we all know the uses people give to it, but that's not the point.

Please stop using the word ''n00b'' like it's an insult, or an actual word.

Also, you are not ''cool'', so stop trying to feel superior to other users.

He already told you he didn't cry, so even if it is true or not, you are going to try and make the ridicule out of him.

Shut up, poser.

My advice is that, if you lack the skills and knowledge to code it yourself, you use Joomla.

It's a pretty powerful and flexible manager that will surely fulfill your needs. There are lots of templates, modules, support and much more out there for it, and it's pretty easy to work with.

Grab a domain, a hosting service, and Joomla. Then you are ready to go.

Functioning? maybe. Good? not.

You need more than five lines of text in order to make a website properly talking, and you know it.

Its worth laerning if you are truly serious about web development.

The key words are truly serious.

Also, example:

That's your idea of 5 lines of text?

Yes, and you are expecting a young lad who probably doesn't even know what HTML is to make a decent website using Note Pad?

Oh, wait, he could learn!

Wait... I forgot the complex process the development of a website takes using only text!

I think they where made for people with actual interests in sharing some photo albums and comments with family and friends who are far; not for those annoying and lonely people who give a bad name to it.

It's just a matter of opinions anyways. Also, they get what they want, lot's of visitors.

Also, posting the same picture repeatedly (picture spamming), is not allowed in the NG BSS, so walk on your own there.

No.

This website, as far as I am concerned, is wide-open for both genders. I don't need to explain far beyond that in order to make my point valid.

If you don't beleive me then check out the rankings page. ALL of the catigories. There's like no girls on there. Ok maybe two

I have seen plenty more female users in the forums, so you are just not looking hard enough. Also, even if there wasn't a single woman here, it doesn't means it's because they are not allowed in.

Anyone agree?

Whoever does is ignorant, sexist or both.

Response to: "Oh. Shit." Moments Posted October 9th, 2007 in General

It doesn't happens frequently to me because I think things well before doing them. If people stopped and thought before acting there wouldn't be so many problems in our society.

So no, I don't have any stories to share, sorry =P

Unfortunately, that is newgrounds as a whole. There are a few options. You could continue to post randomly and infrequently like I and many others, hoping that eventually enough users will be doing it to set a trend.

That sounds like a fun idea. I might just join this idea of yours and relax while the whole rest eat themselves.

You could just up and leave and go to another forum which meets your needs instead of being a masochist and frequenting a site which will never please you.

I do that often, but I am more fond to places with a decent amount of users, so I can get as many opinions as possible. Of course, 100 posts of this place aren't worth a dime.

Or you could post often, find a few people who you enjoy posting with, start your own community and then only every so often venture on to newgrounds. These places exist already, but they are usually elitiest.

Functional as it may be, I don't like to classify myself as superior to others. Also, I don't think there could be enough people like to build an active community.

If fleeing to the Politics forum is the answer I fear that place is like a dessert with an occasional traveler passing by =(
You can't talk about everything in politics anyway. And I don't think there is an answer for you. The only true answer is that it depends on what you want and what you are willing to do. I've stood on my soap box for so long that it's starting to wear thin. I probably won't do it much longer, and I doubt with the constant influx of inexperienced, unfunny, lackluster users that any permananent long lasting good change could continue.

I'm thinking about simply relaxing and laugh as I see wild animals in human form, since they don't seem to give a damn about fixing the leak in their brain. I am still going to try and leave useful posts and interesting enough threads, but ain't simply going to care anymore if their ignorance can't let them post something else than a ''tl;dr''.

It's a good thing, at least, to know there is people like you around. Gagsy also seems like a nice lass =)
