Now I know this question, for most of you on here. Is probably WAY out of your expertise, and likely just as much in terms of knowledge. But I'm posting this on a few other forums, and I hope to find a decent response or three.
Namely, I have learned a bit of Russian on my spare time, and I know a few things (I speak, you speak, we speak, hello, excuse me, one, two, three, road, newspaper).
However I am also interested in the Christian scriptures, and I thought of reading the Russian Synodal Bible. Unfortunately, it's 100+ years old, and any grammar/vocabulary I acquired would likely be hopelessly arcane.
Does anyone know of a MODERN Russian bible translation?. Which, if read sufficiently could provide some basic speaking/grammar in the Russian language?.
P.S. I can read and decently pronounce the Cyrillic alphabet,
