I wasn't being insulting, I was being serious. It's just a minor similarity though, not much. Here's the song it sounds similar to http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/2 60279 and he's 17 btw.

Also, you weren't being accused of anything, just noting a certain similar feel, that's all.

It's used to correct the pitch in bad notes of singers. And it's not used only in hip hop and pop, it's a production tool that spans many different genres and styles.

Also it can be used as an interesting effect on the voice (examples: T-Pain and Attack Attack).

I like this quote, I think I'll keep it in the back of my mind as a future reminder for when I write music. Thanks for posting that Charlemagne

Also, Shortmonkey, that song sounds similar to something my younger brother wrote.

Dude. Labels are shit. I know someone who really needs to get their career off the ground. Atlantic wanted to basically destroy the integrity of the music, on top of whatever other shit they'd impose.

The current plan is to sign to a much smaller label and hopefully get sony/bmg to distribute.

That'd be a smarter route and I've heard shit tons of bad things about Atlantic (not just from small bands, but from major ones also).

Personally I can't really tell the difference unless I were to use something ridiculous. I use .11s on my Les Paul and can't tell the difference between the .09s on my friend's strat and .10s on my other guitar. Basically your fingers will adjust to the tension and you won't really notice it, at least I've never noticed any.

Hey, welcome. I can't believe you play a musical instrument and you don't have a favorite band. That's weird. What kind of stuff do you play?

Lol, I kind of find the whole favorite band thing cliche and I've just never been able to find that one band that stands out enough as my favorite.

As for what I play, I pretty much play anything. Metal, Classic Rock, Punk, etc. Just whatever I can play to, it can even be a classical piece or a rap song.

If you do try to get a guitar with coil taps, go with Schecter. You can almost never go wrong with them. Reliable/well made guitars at fair prices (unlike the two major money hungering powerhouses).

Coil tapping is pretty easy to explain, it's a way for a guitar with two humbuckers to simulate a single coil. Usually there's a switch in the tone knob that activates it by pulling out on the knob. The guitar I'm trying to get money for from selling my Epi. Les Paul actually has a coil tap feature.

So my question is, is a ghost snare just the term you're using to describe the use of a ghost note on a snare hit? Thus just making it a note that's less emphasized (meaning the snare hit should sound subtle).

My greatest one would have to be when I rediscovered why I began composing and started to ignore much of the theoretical and technical aspects and just got back to making music I enjoyed. It's the best feeling when you use theory as a tool and not as a platform on which to compose various pieces.

probably at least 60% of your tone comes from the amplifier/effects, rather than the guitar.

Wrong, your tone is based on the control with your fretting hands, your picking style, and adjustments on the tone and volume knob. All effects do is color your tone.

IMHO, Montly Crue was a tad better for hair metal.

RATT or Motley Crue are good choices. I've never been a big fan of hair metal, but those are two of the ones I enjoy the most (along with W.A.S.P.)

It's Killswitch Engage, the genre is metalcore, so yeah it's definitely a pinched harmonic.

The type of harmonic that comes out on a pinched is determined by your attack. I'd suggest trying to add a little more attack when you go to hit that note.

Now I'm curious as to what people on NGs settings are. Mine are Bass: 6, Mid: 7, Treble: 7, and Gain at around 7.5.
