Wikipedia is fairly reliable. Expecially for such a small topic such as the orgins of ska. Wiki backed his claim up that ska was Jamaican. Ive never heard of ska being Irish or ska involving bagpipes.

A) Just because you play guitar doesn't mean you'll be able to play the songs a band does. Necrophagist will kill your fingers. And even if by some miracle you nail them, I doubt you'd be able to keep up with how fast they're played.

B) One sucks, the other doesn't? How much more narrow minded can you be? I guarantee you your shitty music taste is composed of bands that are mainstream and annoying, whereas mine, WIllPostForFoods or anyone elses that listens to metal would be composed of bands you've never heard of, singing in languages you'd never understand and hail from countries you never knew existed.

Death Metal is... amazing. There are alot of Death Metal bands that pull incredible feats with their music, but alot of them are next gen' bands. The bands that seem "generic" to people are the first wave Death Metal bands, like Cannibal Corpse, Vital remains, Deicide, and of course, Morbid Angel.

Death Metal was and still is a very strong force. It was a cut apart, more extreme genre of music that created a much greater diversity in the 80's, setting it apart from first wave Thrash Metal acts like Slayer and Metallica (Yes, Metallica was considered a Thrash Metal band in their 1980's career).

Black Metal is a whole different story, and IMO, a genre of music with an astounding Musical Value. Whereas Death Metal was an American Art, Black Metal is a Scandinavian (Mainly Norwegian) art, that has merely been adopted in America (and vice versa), as well as in other countries world-wide.

Black Metal had (according to the members of the first-wave Black Metal bands) "purpose", which was more a Nihilistic and impossible feat (Like.. say.. the removal/destruction of an entire religious dogma from a Scandinavian country?)

Oh, and by the way. Death Metal "screams" are not "screams". They're called "Gutterals". Black Metal vocals are mainly characterized by "Shrieks" and "Rasps", whereas some Black metal bands (Like Old Man's Child) incorporate the Death-Metal "Grunt" (still a Gutteral) into their sound. In fact, alot of Black Metal bands combine the two of them at the same time, and it adds a more "evil" or "demonic" sound to it, although, sometimes producers add an effect to the vocal track called "Ringmodulator" and it adds this pitch-shifted vocal to the original.

All in all, Death and Black Metal are fucking amazing genres of music. The "points" behind them may seem stupid to you, or you may not understand them, but to those of us that do understand them enjoy the music.

If you don't enjoy them, don't listen to them and complain in a Thread. Simple as that.

Okay. Every Finnish Power-Metal band alive is the same. Throne of Chaos, CoB, Kalmah, Norther. They're all the same fucking thing.

CoB is popular for the same reason that Guns N' Roses was popular --- Alexi Laiho can play the guitar like a Mother Fucker.

Throne of Chaos, Kalmah and Norther follow the exact same trend, and they all sound the same.

Slayer is the only good band mentioned out of the list you just gave the thread.

Oh, and, from what my good buddies over in Stockholm and Helsinki have told me, Alexi Laiho's little-bitch-attitude over his "ruined" marriage to Kimberly Goss has gotten to the point where they're about to split up. Personally,I think there is a "will" to die, at the end of your "days". Why? Because human beings accept Death as an inevitability. I believe that if you have the "will" to live, you can void things such as death. I also believe disease/sickness can be voided as well. If you say "Nothing will happen, I will be fine. I don't want to die, therefore, I will not", then you're basically saying "Mind over matter". Your using psychological being over physical. Everything we think, say, or feel is created by the brain, but if we can manipulate our brain (or get our brain to manipulate itself) we can void certain things.

But you may be asking me what this has to do with religion? My personal theory is similar to Buddhism, but not Buddhism in itself. It has nothing to do with "Karma", but it still has a large psychological signifigance. I think that if you truly desire to ascend to a "paradise", then you must create it. Sculpt it, and manipulate it until your "death", and as your true form (spirit, soul, ki, etc.) "leaves" your body, keep your strong "will" to live, and have the ever present thought of your paradise in mind.

With this strong psychological figure in place, you can tracend all laws, all beings, all dimensions into your own paradise. Your own world as your own "God". In a sense, you have transcended the "God" of the normal dimensions we view and whose laws we live under now. You transcend beyond time and space into your own peripheral, outside of Human limits, and transform into your own divine form.

Divinity, in itself, can be achieved. You just need to the will to obtain it.

From what I understand, the UK has a very low censorship, especially when it comes to nudity or sexual content in a show.

Hellhammer did a very good job of drumming for the re-recording. In fact, in an interview with him, he said that they got the drumming done in two days. Of course.. this doesn't mean the band will keep him or make him a permanent drummer.

The band has a bad habit of booting drummers (Tjadalv, Reno Kiilrich, Nick Barker, etc.)
