I'm now level 34! It feels kind of interesting, I suppose. I mean, three throwing stars instead of two get you somewhere. I also reached 2,000 blams. A little late, considering I was at just under two thousand for over a year, but I finally did it.

Cheers to the Wi/Ht?, in which I haven't posted since March of last year.

Anyhow, there you go.

Wow. A review for the game written nearly two years ago... and Fox is just talking about it now? I think they're a bit behind on the moral bandwagon here -- regardless, I think it's pretty easy to say that this game is pretty revolting.

Well... g'day everyone. I do have an apology to make, don't I?

I apologize for not giving prior notice, but for the past three weeks, I've been looking at colleges in the Northern United States. I won't be on today for very long, but I promise that I'll be on as much as I can in the coming weeks.

With regards to the Godfather, by far the first movie is the best, although the second movie is still a classic. The third movie... I'm not sure. I didn't enjoy it as much as the other two movies, although it was still a great movie in its own right.

Double post. Ugh.

At 3/11/08 09:16 PM, TheSerf wrote: Well this is in essence in effect, since we allow potential members to post here whilst obtaining their 50 posts.

That's what I had though tot, but apparently it's only under special circumstances... or at least, that's what I recall Boris telling me. If I'm wrong, I'd be more than glad to be corrected on this.

I do worry about our history with the moderators in the past, though I (again) agree with Fragment. It's not like we're making shitty RP posts anymore (no offense to the history here). Most of the things said are relevant, and at the least somewhat intelligent.

Still, I can't get this nagging fear of the moderators out of my mind. It might be just because I'm a cynical asshole, but the past is still part of the present -- we can't forget just how much the moderators once tried to get rid of this thread. Let's hope they all have short memories...

I'm sorry everyone -- I was a bit more swamped yesterday with work then I'd ever thought imaginable. Anyways, I had tried to make a few posts in here the past few days, but my (new) computer's apparently being a bitch. I think the problem's solved though.

At 3/9/08 08:56 PM, Fragment wrote: So, I haven't been active in a couple of days, but I think this should make up for my lost time.

Welcome to the club.

Rat- Part Two

This was truly excellent. I liked the storytelling in the beginning, and I loved how Ghost was... er... fearless. Exciting stuff.

--------

I'm in favor of dropping the fifty post requirement... but I still have some reservations. I'm mostly with Fragment on this one. We're truly limiting the number of newer members we could be getting by having this rule -- now and then, we might be surprised to find that there are some truly intelligent new members around here.

At 3/11/08 08:21 PM, Fragment wrote: Maybe the rule could be changed that instead of a 50 post requirement, we could have a probation time instead, where the person who requests to join could get kicked out if they mess up in any way.

Truthfully, I support this more than the above. It lets us have an official way of kicking people instead of accepting someone and kicking them later -- I'd feel like too much of a douche.

I'd say a week of active posting would be a good idea of what the requirement should be. But, I'm just throwing ideas out there.

------------

Now for a truly awesome story, about Ghost being fearful... of something else... anyways, not my best work, but I felt I needed to write something.

Gaywad
"Everyone, listen up!" exclaimed Ghost, sneering as he tossed away his cigar. He stood on a table in the center of the room, with everyone else around him. "The Mafia is instituting a no gay policy. After Snype tried to... 'touch' Serf..."

Serf's body still sat in the corner, his brains blown out, and his gun still in his hand.

"He'll be cleaned up tomorrow," reassured Ghost quickly, diverting from his topic. "Anyways, we've decided that if anyone tries to be openly gay in the Mafia, they'll be shot. Understand?" Most people cheered, save Fragment and Snype, both of whom were closet homosexuals.

"B-but Ghost!" exclaimed Snype suddenly.

"STFU GAYWAD!" screamed a person no one had seen before, and the kid shot Snype in the balls. Snype fell over, in agony.

"New guy," whispered Tangent to Nomader, who only nodded. "Nice to meet 'cha," Tangent said a bit louder towards the new guy, and the new guy flashed a grin.

Fragment, now scared, started to run. But Triv was ready. "We have a fag running in the Northeast hallway!" exclaimed Triv, and everyone, fully armed, ran off save Triv who continued to watch his machine, Nomader who went off to the bar, and Tangent.

Tangent glanced around once, and then once more. Slowly he approached Triv, and whispered. "So... we on for tonight?" Triv only giggled.

Fin.

Everyone I know loved it, though I've heard the ending is disappointing (if someone gives it away, I'll kill 'ya. xD)

The college tests? Im pretty sure anyone on Newgrounds knows what the SATs are. :P

Not everyone's American here. Y'know. Er... Britkid. Yeah.

Help me out, Brit...
Good luck though. I was allowed to take a portion of them a few months back because i scored so high on a certain test. They...weren't exactly easy...

Heh, I took them when I was sixth grade once -- I did well enough on the tests then... I did alright, I guess. :D

Nope, they aren't, but I'm not worried -- if I worry about it, I'll fail miserably.

Alright now, I've finally done a much needed update on the sites FAQ, mostly dealing with the departments. Fragment has been added as the Demo leader once again. Now there are a couple of posistions up for grabs so if anyone wants to lead the interrogations, musical thing, or snipers department just send me a PM and we'll work it out.

Wonderful to hear it -- it's too bad to see though that RedGlare's gone... always was a good member. Still, I'll keep a look out for anyone who seems qualified and wants the job, Boris.

As for the music yeah l'll need to change some of it, but I'm gonna keep the homepage song as it suits the site.

Apart from that there was little or not command attached with the title, even less now if what you say about the mafia is true.

It was a tiny bit of sarcasm in a post -- forgive me. :D

There really isn't much command attached to the title, save that of just the namesake you recieve from it and the command you earn in stories. Officially, it might bump you up to a Sgarrista, but not much more.

See now it's thinking like that, that could land us into trouble. The departments site is really supposed to be like a reference so that new members know what departments are around and who's in charge. They may not have a real purpose but it all adds to the feel of the mafia, after all we don't actually do anything in the site so a vague mafi experience is all we have and I'll be damned if we let it slip away. Besides Phantom is still listed as head of the snipers and I doubt he'd be happy to receive PMs asking to join his department.

I always have been a proponent of smaller government. :D

We still have that reference though if you look in at the site -- we have a place for each department (seen here), and each leader is listed in the FAQ of the site (although, I'm still not listed as a capo... Boris! :P).

I agree that it needs to be updated -- but I thought you were referring previously to a total list of every Mafia member... such a thing should be kept inside the thread, not on the site where Boris would have to update it constantly. If such a list were to ever come into existence, it should be posted about every ten or fifteen pages, and inactive members should be deleted from the list if they aren't notable, or moved onto a "Retired" section if notable. Notability would have to be judged based on criteria that I don't have yet. :D

Sorry about that little spiel there, but Phantom needs to be taken off as well, and a new appointee put in his place. If we're truly back and active, I suppose we should start keeping tabs on our members...

I actually felt quite sad reading that, happy but sad if that makes sense. I'm glad shes getting on with her life and doing well but I'm sad to see her go, I really liked her and feel regret that I never spoke to her as much as I wish I did.

It's always how it is -- someone leaves, and we wished we could've talked more. Chances are you actually did at the time, but you just don't remember as much nowadays. :D

Indeed though, she was one of the best story writers around.

Yeah I checked out the site a couple of times thats how I know it's due an update. The site has always played music I remember when Boris even held a vote to decide what music would be played on what page.

I think I didn't vote -- if I did, it was between the lesser of a few evils... I prefer to put my own music up when I browse the internets.

I liked the subtle request for command. :D

I'm not sure if it's ever been officially killed -- people can still be assassins if they want to be, but in truth, we haven't been very good at keeping up the departments (or we haven't been actively proclaiming our place as much in stories), so I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble or not.

Yeah I know what you mean I really miss some of the women we had in here. Off hand I don't remember some of their names but for some reason I remember their sigs? The one person I do miss the most though is fairy tale romance, she was a great member of the mafia and wow could she write. Anyone know what happened to her?

Her farewell post.

Some other people that used to be in here were Charlotte (as per previous pages, no more discussion about her... :D), Carmilla (a mod that isn't around too much nowadays...), and Fairy -- the three big ones. :P

When I was last here it use to be Boris and hitman that would update the site but hitman doesn't really seem as active as he used to be. I haven't really seen Boris around that much either, i use to be responsible for the departments and archive, the old archive anyway still don't know what happened to it.

Well, Boris is still updating the site when he comes around (he's here every few pages). The site that he made up is linked in his (and my) sig, but it plays music in the background so... turn down the speakers. :D

On the rest of your post, you'll have to wait for Boris. :P

- I'd like the only text to be "Nomader".

- Right now, I have a desert signature thanks to BBM (thanks again!). This time, though, I was wondering if someone could make me a more cartoonish sort of desert, more akin to what's found in my profile picture. If possible, it'd be cool to have a caravan akin to the one seen in my profile picture in the background.

- I have no preference about the colors.

- Other than that, nothing else.

I know that this is sort of a big request, so if it takes some time, I'm fine with it -- thanks a ton!

Thanks for the help! :D

I think when you try to decide whether a review is abusive or not, you shouldn't even look at the review score (except to find abusive reviews, as most abusive ones are when someone gives a low score to a flash) -- you should look at the content. Personally, I don't think it's abusive, but I'm sure you'll find someone else in this thread who'll differ from my opinion.

The Games category found at the top of the site only links to those games recognized by Newgrounds as (usually) the best in their class. It allows Newgrounds to showcase all of the finest works in the portal in that one spot so visitors to the site won't be put off by lower quality flashes.

You can still find your game if you search for it, but to get true recognition in collections and categories, you need to either submit things at the right times or make a truly great work that wins an award.

G'luck.

It really does take quite a bit of work to make a flash of that caliber -- if you still want to check out flash knowing how hard it is to make, I'd recommend you go through this page, download the thirty day trial of Flash, and go to the Flash forum for any help you might need.

I can't stress enough how hard it is to make flashes of that caliber -- remember to always start small, and use all the tutorials you can.

Good luck!

I just got fifty audio reviews.... I wrote nine audio reviews today, and seven in the past hour -- and none of them were bad reviews (I hope). :D

Thanks to:
(Pleasure to meet most of you.)
Odyssic (Pleasure to meet you!)
NintendoMadness (NOMAnDER is a different guy -- be careful who you congratulate. :P)
Bahamut (I'm going to try to review every one of your flashes -- because you respond to them. I'll try to get ten tomorrow, so be on the look-out. A pleasure to see you again!)
yoshi77777 (I'm a huge fan of your SuperHuman series -- keep 'em coming! :P)
NEVR (... sorry -- I've got nothing to tell you. A pleasure to meet you?)

--------

Oh, and because I'll be rather bored this next week, I'm going to try to make it into the Top 100 Reviewers List. I need about five hundred more reviews to be totally secure in there, so I'll start to get cracking tonight on Bahamut's flashes -- he has three hundred and some to go through. :D

My only problem with using "Chang" in a story is that people will have no idea who I'm talking about. I'd prefer to use Cannibal (which still sounds super-bloody) if you'd let me.

And, I'm not that good guys. I won't be taking story requests -- how about this:
- I will not write anymore stories until there have been three more (quality ones -- meaning, you put effort into it) posted in this thread.

This is gonna be tough...

You guys can do it... that means you, Tangent, Snype, Serf, Fragment, Lotus, Strauss, Ghost... etc.

Read the critics stuff before you watch them. Ebert & Roeper gave the movie two thumbs down... that's pretty bad.

Always look it up before you watch. :D

I am sorry :( I can't find a spot in the conversation to jump in :(

Nevermind! :D

Glad to see you back -- we need as many people to post in here as we can... I can't keep doing this.

Sucks for you, Frag. :P
