This seems fun enough, I'm not very good (yet), but I'll do my best.

Here's one I just made today, still might edit it a lil bit though.

using midi is alright

You're the one who said it...

if you got the score from a music book then is plausible that its your own work i mean you have to convert al the notes into the music software.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. A midi is an electronic sheet of music. Now if I were trying to remix some obscure VG song then (well, I'd probably do it by ear in this case) copying it from a book (or at least the parts I would use) would take me about 3-5 mins, and I'm slow. Finding a midi and uploading it would take longer than that. Not that it really matters to anyone here, but to me they are the same thing. I mean if you were to copy the song straight out of a book, put some 1337 synths in it, and some new percussion, wouldn't that be the exact same thing as making a crappy midi remix?

but just taking a midi and call it your own?...im sorry. that person made that melody available for you and not even gonna give credit?

Well, I can see how your thinking, but (considering you aren't making what everyone seems to agree is a lazy no good remix) then you aren't making a remix for the midi, you are making a remix of the original song. Let's bring this back to the Flash comparison. Now every once in a while, back when I came here somewhat often, there would be a lot of flash artists making posts something along the lines of "OMG I NEED MGS SOUNDS!!!" Now being the bored, but amiable person I am, I'd usually help them out. Now going by what you are saying, they should say in the credits "And a special thanks to NOE3 for providing sounds." Do you think they'd say that? No, they are going to say "Thank you [I forgot who makes MGS, how embarrassing!] for making such a sweet game!" or "all sounds//grafix are trademarks of [MGS maker again]."

anyhows...it seems people got upset about this, so can i say LMAO?

If upset=mad, then yeah, I was getting mad. Forums always seem to get me mad. This time it wasn't what you were saying, it was more your attitude//personality rubbing me the wrong way.

Response to: Midi? Posted September 8th, 2007 in Audio

What's the point of this topic? Sorry TC, but if you're mad at people making remix's using a Midi there is a simple solution... Don't listen to the song, don't download it, and if you do get tricked into listening to it give it a low score and MOVE ON.

Now for my beliefs since I'm such an opinionated guy. Using a midi to create a remix is fine IF you put some work into it. Midi's are there to give you the main melody. While doing it by ear isn't very hard it is still a convenient tool to use. I myself have made 2 or 3 remixes using midi's, usually the first thing I do is copy paste the main melody, and change them around a bit (think adding in octaves adding in more advanced rythems, and when I'm feeling daring, changing the thing from simple to compound), then I DELETE everything else.

Now to address the issue that has been bugging me since I started reading this topic. I don't understand why you want people to give the midi authors credit for "bad remixing" (your first description of it is the same as mine, but it has mutated since). If they were to give credit, it would be to the original authors of the song. All the midi author (I was one for a short time, I did a lot of Zelda songs), was either look up the sheet music, or listen to the song a lot and transfer it into midi form. And if you think the later way is hard, you really have never tried, you are right on this point TC.

There, I'm sure I missed something, so I'll just wait for one of your posts highlighting one particular sentence from what I've typed and saying "dudezorz, you m15sed teh pointz". I'm sorry (lol no I'm not) if I'm a little harsh, but you've already said you don't want any friends and for some reason, this topic just really made me mad.

Newgrounds is for uncopyrighted music, if you own copyrighted music then it would still be against the rules (at least by my reasoning) to upload it.

What do you think they would say? Anyone with any sense of forsight wouldn't be that idiotic, this topic should have been closed just for pity on your idiocy for making it.

Used in a Flash Submission... Darn Posted March 31st, 2007 in Audio

I usually never create posts in any forum because I usually break the rules even after I've read them... But I really wanted to ask...

Now I'm not any good at creating audio and I won't pretend to be, I havn't submitted anything in like half a year, but I decided to check out my page today for some reason. Now I was looking down the page for a while, and I come to two of my songs, and OMGWTF they were used in a submission. At this point I really didn't care what the flash was, I just wanted to see it. I saw the score, a 1.01, not good but someone still used my songs in it! Then I looked at the name, [KK] Undress Hentai slut [KK], not my cup of tea but w/e. Then I saw it...

I don't really have to explain the rest... What I'm trying to ask is, has anyone else's audio ever gotten into a flash that they really wished it hadn't gotten into?

Meh, I suppose it is an area thing, I live in a small city in the middle of redneck country New York, and I can't even think of many friends that havn't fired guns. Learning how to use and the safety rules for guns is best at a young age imo. Better than a 18 to 21 year old getting a gun in there hands for the first time when they can legally buy (at 18) and then own (at 21) a gun w/o anyone really showing them what to do with it.

Response to: Final Farewell... Posted January 17th, 2007 in Audio

Ah, what a sweet regreeting, only to say goodbye again to an old friend to whom I have bearly had the fortunate chance to get the know, I shall miss this chance but learn from the mistakes of my past and hope that maybe we may speak again, in this life or what ever comes after, I shall miss you indescribably but will look forward to the chance of our reunion, and if that were to be the case, will ask as to why this sudden departure had to take place, and at such an unfortunate time as my return to this place of meeting. Some say that parting may be a sweet sorrow, and if this is to be the truth then it is a bitter-sweet one only to prelude the meetings of others to fill the gap in which that leaving made, but never will that space be perfectly filled, only will it be contained by its original holder. So I say goodbye to you as a friend, and as a friend I am dreadfully sorry to see you go.

I'm sure I summed up everyone's feelings in that littler snid-bit of rambling, no you don't know who I am (if you did, then wow, you have a good memory), so, again sorry to see you go Ocon, gl with life.

Response to: Jazz Help Posted December 9th, 2006 in Audio

It doesn't sound that jazzy imo, it's a nice drum line, but the eighth notes are a bit to straight for me, give them more of a swing feel, and unless it's a fill, or just perfectly fits with the melody of the piece, I would avoid sixteenth notes. I've played in a jazz band for 6 years, but I don't play drums so I'm just going on from what I've heard.

From that angle you sorta look like a kid I once knew named Kevin.

Now wouldnt that be ironic if my name was Kevin, and I was in fact that same Kevin that you knew back then, and we used to play stuff in trumpet class and eat cookies from a jar and such, as well as stealing soda from your grandmama's house, cause we were thirsty from living in Death Valley Nevada, until we at last went our seperate ways, and a sorrow filled parting, that, at least for us will be a turning point in our own lives, our first sense of losing somthing, perhaps the first step into adulthood from the easy going style of life adolescence brings the young... How sad a parting that would be, perhaps making both Kevin and you to turn to the Internet, and computers for comfort for years, until one day, yes, you meet again, in a forum in some random site, both of you having a common interest in audio, and not knowing the other is who he is, that is, until this moment, and now we can share our life stories and perhaps, rekindle our old friendship, and help each other in the grueling tests life puts out for us, overcoming any obsticle that comes in our way to our final goal...

Yes, that would have lots of meaning, if my name weren't Norman, and I knew who you were at all... ... ...

sorry for wasting your time with my uber rambling skillz

You mean B0UNC3's "Sound of my Dreams REMIX"? (Yes I do believe its in capital letters.)

It's a valid concern but technically if what that guy is posting is stolen, it's most likly not from B0UNC3 but from the original author, and since I know this song to be an all time fav for remixing, I have no idea who that was, and I don't feel like checking, it could take a while...

If you take the time to make the song good, it may get noticed, if you take the time to advertise (you know, advertising thread, make friends and tell them about your awsome new piece, link it from other forums) then it will get noticed, and it will reflect your score/DLs, and you could do all of the "advertising" in like 5-10 mins, just don't make your own thread on NGs with it.

If you don't like making music, then you wouldn't be doing it, hope this inspire's you to do better, I'll checkout your music if I hear about it later and see how your doing, as for me I think it's time I take my own advise with that picture I posted, and go to bed...
