What I do when I do my pencil drawings is to simply scan it in and select a new layer, select a blending mode that looks good (Color burn for hair, color for skin, multiply for clothes) and paint over it.

Since you don't have photoshop, I'd really recommend you get that. At least get the trial version and paint everything in one go within the trial period, haha.

Of course, failing which, you could always use colour pencils...I'm going into watercolour because I hate seeing my drawings in black and white too, and photoshop just doesn't cut it at times.

This is the tutorial I used when I first started digital colouring. of course i modified it a lot, didn't even use the selection because my model was way more complex. freehand works if you have a stable hand.

there is a misunderstanding, I'M NOT GOING TO POST THE COLORED ONES ANYWHERE i'm NOT asking to color them 4 me, i'm just asking for good tricks and walktroughs (some sort of lesson) to colour drawings with a computer Aaaand i said that everyone should feel free to show me how they color theese drawings.
Someone already tried and i say that imaFreekozoid did a truly awesome work.

i don't think so. I've been drawing crap till now, and now i want to do something serious.
Could you imagine it colored with effects, shades, good lines and a bit of more imagination? It would be finally something "good".

Soo, i'm not english and i'll write everything in globish (OK??), i'm not studying art, i don't have photoshop, i'm 16 and the only thing i like is drawing. I kinda regreet that i haven't chosen to study at the art school, but it's ok 4 now.
I like drawing and i've always some concepts, they sucks, but i like them anyways. The big problem is that i use Paint.net to color them, and it's kinda hard for me to make my drawings better.

So I'll post all my drawings here in black and white, FEEL FREE TO TAKE THEM AND COLOUR THEM THE WAY YOU LIKE IT (please). just give me some sort of credits if you're gonna post them somewhere

original doesn't mean beauty , and theese drawings show to everyone a disperate artist that's trying to be unique ( seriously, don't be offended, if you like the final result of your drawings then just keep drawing theese things, because after a while they will become awesome, but if you don't like theese drawings, then stop this new style and draw just things that you like )
