thanks for proving the werent traced with the over lays, cuz half the pics dont even line up, proving they were not traced

and even if they were they would look perfect, my pics arent perfect

There utterly traced even if you messed up/changed small pieces, it's clear you didn't spend the time necessary to sight size copy them just by the poor shading... anything that lines up that closely in every spot is more likely to be me inaccurately resizing than anything else. Own up to your mistake and it's a lot easier for people to forgive you.

I hate to say something but I'm pretty sure the head is huge... not sure if its deliberate but I'm only seeing roughly 6.5 heads which would put the figure under 5 feet tall if his head was of adult proportion (roughly 9 inches)
That might be deliberate or it might be the angle of the picture just wasn't sure if you were aware. Wish you weren't so far along if it wasn't deliberate
Looking quite good otherwise.

If you're hittesting duped mc's you're gonna need to put it in a forloop or you could be lazy and put the hittest in the thing being duped and make it if(this blah blah blah instead of _root.instancenameofthethingbeingduped

I've never actually been smart enough to know for sure but I bet having an onEnterFrame in all the dupes is a lot more processor intense than just using a for loop

I know its probably been asked a million times but how do you convert a .swf to dvd on a mac?
Need it for a summer app thing and I've never paid enough attention to the responses,
search bar isn't doing me any good since you need a search term of 4 characters and convert is bringing up tons of .swf to fla threads =\

God damn trick questions.

On discrete math, there was this problem about variance and independence and expected value. I kept getting -1/2 for the second part, but that wasn't a choice on the test.

As it turns out, after the test, I found out the question said "two-headed coin" not "two-sided coin"

And this professor never did trick questions like that before.

I feel so much more satisfied when I figure out trick questions that it balances out the annoyance I feel when I don't get them. But come on, the course is "discrete" math you gotta expect some cutty shit.

You lack the skill to charge for your services, well you can charge, but I really doubt anyone will do it.

You should buy a book on anatomy, glaring porportional errors are REALLY distracting even in non realistic drawings.

I always thought hockey was silly I watch it and wonder what the point is. I get that you could do the same for every other sport but I don't get that feeling except while watching hockey. Also any pro sport that just takes a year off isn't a real sport.

not efficient at all but you can set up a variable to increase if your space key is down then have your actions take place if that variable is equal to 1, then just have a if space isn't down your variable is set to 0. That's the most straightforward way in my mind but definetly not the best way.

I played at full tilt for a while I went like +200 on a 50 input in a week or so, I final tabled 4 or 5 free rolls before that and won one. Online is totally different from real life, I find it way less enjoyable, we still play 10 buck buy in games occasionally but it's hard to get enough people to come for it to really be worth it and people get tired of losing money.

My motivation seems to come in a set amount, I can either be super motivated to draw, to animate, or to code, or some other thing that's useless like video games or T.V. If I had like 10 more hours in the day I might be able to focus on more than one thing but usually I get home eat then do something straight and that something usually changes every few weeks.
Best way I've found to get motivated is to get yourself into a routine, if you force yourself to work every day for a few hours after a few weeks it feels weird not doing it, I'm kinda a slave to routine in that sense =\.

Bridgeman's drawing from life and the practice and science of drawing are both really solid books, I'd redline but I don't think I'm really qualified, Also I think you're gonna want look more into porportions than anatomy.

Standard figure is 7.5-8 heads high 2 heads wide nipples are 1 head down, then roughly the navel then the crotch, then the next head is above the knee about a 1/3 of a head below that are the knees. You can prolly pick up loomis' life drawing for all its worth off the internet somewhere that's always a really good one.

Something I don't hear much about is special effects in flash animations. I was thinking, do artists prefer to manually make these effects? Or is there not much talk about it because it's not really a technique that's implemented?

explosions are one of the most fun things to animate, so hard to do wrong and so easy to fix when they do, lava and fire are the worst for me, fire's not to bad but making looping lava is actually driving me insane.

I'm part of the elitist group that not only got it but also thought it was stupid and kinda boring XP.

I haven't seen Fargo yet is it worth a rental?

If you're majoring in graphic design the most important thing is that you make it look good (speaking on the radioactive barrel thing) which right now it doesn't. The birds kinda lack 3d form, they look pretty flat, on the woodpecker I wish you had captured the 7/8th's rather than drawn the head as a dead profile. Both birds are a little centered for my tastes, if there studies it's w/e but if their pieces I'd try to make the composition a little more interesting.
Not bad work so far.
