One thing is certain though: any atheist is going to be bargaining for the existence of God and an afterlife when they're in their deathbed. They can pose all they want on how stupid religion is etc. etc. but it all comes down to our mortality. They will bargain and plead for God to show them an afterlife when the moment comes up.

The republican party and bush administration has been uncovered time and again UNDERFUNDING the soldiers, and DELIBERATELY dismantling the constitution.
If it were actually 'liberals' doing these things I would be just as ready to admit it.... but it's not.... it's the Bush Administration doing both of the things you mentioned.
Because you're a fogheaded person you want to blame everything on 'liberals' instead of admitting that your administration sucks balls.
Conservative = Republican
Liberal = Democrat
Both parties are going to bash eachother because they aren't intelligent enough to reason. Anytime I hear somebody label somebody a liberal I pretty much know to stop listening to them. Calling somebody a liberal is just another way to say 'You're a hippy and I'm not going to listen to you.' The same goes for labeling redneck conservatives as such... it's just an easy way to avoid intelligent debate.
This kind of attitude goes all the way up to Congress and the White House so it's pointless trying to stop liberals from bashing conservatives or the other way around.
