Newgrounds Gameboard Extra Info. Posted November 30th, 2007 in Game Development

Right now "Newgrounds Game Board" has been in production for 5 weeks. This is a Flash project that will be split into 2 versions. One version, which will take 1 month is able to only play with a computer player, and the other version will be multilayer game only which will take 6-7 months. Newgrounds Board Game is a Flash game board just like Online Monopoly, or Mario Party, but with its own differences. There will be mini games as you land on different spaces with your chosen character. Also there will be cards that pop-up telling the player a description of the space they landed on.

In Version 1 you are able to only play with a coded computer player. The reason there is going to be 2 versions is because the multilayer version will take up to half a year to finish, but the computer version will only take 1-2 months to finish. You can change the computers difficulty from Easy, Medium, and Hard, depending on your skill level. You can chose your character and the computers character. Characters available are: Tankman, Blockhead, Salad Fingers, Pico, and Angry Faic. That is the basics on what version 1 will look like, I don't want to give out to much info.

Mini games in each version will be an extra amount of fun added to the game. I might make each mini game by my self, or I might hold a contest of some sort for people to make mini games for the game. When your character lands on a certain space a mini game will start up and you need to beat it in order to get your amount of points. Points are used to buy stuff at the store such as: Get outta ban free card, Adobe Flash, Newgrounds T-shirts, and other cool stuff. Mini games will be an extra amount of fun added to the game!

In Version 2 you are enabled to only play multilayer with users all over the world. If you have a NG Gold account you can play this version. You first Jack-in with your NG alias and password so people know it's you. Then you will enter a chat room and be able to chat will online users and ask if they want to play you in a game. Only 2 users per game. Then when your at the game board there will be a chat box at the bottom so you can chat with your opponent.

Basic crap and what not. You are able to load a saved game only on V.1. The Game Board will have up to 70 spaces for your character to land. If your a stat whore then you'll like this, you are ranked on the game depending on how many points you have, we will be using the NG level icons to do that. You can buy Adobe Flash with your points at the store, then you can earn more points by submitting .swf's depending if it gets blamed or not. I don't want to give out to many info on the project so the rest is Classified. Also, I am submitting V.1 to the Maxgames Contest.

I will need a couple people to help me, I'm going to be the prduction manager and will do a lot of the work including gathering people that i need to help, proper communication needed to collaberate and get the prject done right. Place Holders for AS, and Movieclips. Ill also do most of the art but not all, some of the animation and the basic AS. I'm going to co-author people that wanna help. I have 3 potions that need to be filled by the best person.
1.) Programmer (only AS for the first version)
2.) Artist
3.) Animator

I have already got all the Beta Testers that I need. Also If you wanna make a quick buck you can make a mini game. ill be making most the mini games though. You must realize if you are either a artist, programmer or animator for this project then you will NOT get paid, you WILL be co-authored. If I have to pay you then you will not be co-authored.

I'm thinking I might make a project web site for this so you can get all the updates and communication you need.

You know on Mario Party, there is a bunch of mini games, you need to code and make a mini game (timed) into one movieclip.

Well I have been working on NGGB for quite some time, but my computer crashed after I installed vista and I lost Flash CS3, all i have is Flash MX. I was really planning to have me and a programmer work on this, but now I can have it a collaborative effort of 10 people.
1.) Production Manager (newgiez)
2.) Artist
3.) Artist
4.) Animator
5.) AS Programmer
6.) Server Side Coding
7.) Mini Game Creator
8.) AS Programmer
9.) Programmer
10.) Other

Those are the 9 spaces I will fill to the best people. I already got my Beta Testers.

To answer all your questions:

1.) CMS = Yes I need that, ill pay according to the work that goes into it.
2.) I first thought i wouldn't pay anything and just partner ship with a person and call them co-founder and help run it with me and split the earnings.
3.) How i plan to get money is from the merchandise, advertisements, affiliates, premium mebership (maybe)

Stuff like that isn't something you can buy at the store, you have to barter for it.

And might i say "wow!"

"A New Ladies' Man" is a book for young men ages 13-19
It talks all about how:
- To start Conversation
- Get a girls digits
- Ask a girl on a date
- How to pleasure a girl in bed
- Masturbation

It has a lot of good info on how to be a ladies man. And don't say I'm a desperate man because i know 90% of you guys, and girls have a book like this.
