Seems to be some random black text talking about Hear No Evil at the very top of the page. Also, I think you should have got some headers for the page's windows, and a navigation bar or something before you put up the site.

Karbon may have been signed. Not sure about this one.
Yeah, I wonder what happened to API... last I heard of him he had Solar on the Lifted Podcast... then he kind of disappeared :(

He changed is producing name to Never (reference: http://www.liftedmusic.co.uk/forum/viewt opic.php?t=5262), and has a Myspace here, and It looks like he's a part of Westbay Recordings now.

Just so you know, I guess.

Does this mean that there could be more Newgrounds musicians selling CD's on the store? I know that a second collab just started for a CD, and the first one they did sounds like it did pretty well.

Well, I can sometimes be too much of a perfectionist and spend a lot of time getting something just right. There are also times where I think that one thing sounds really good while I'm making it, then I'll take a day or two away from the song, come back to it, and realize that it isn't actually that good and change it or start something new. Unfortunately for me, that second thing happens a lot and I haven't been able to get anything new submitted recently (Nor do I have a lot of time now that I'm working so I can go to school).

Topic: Using NG audio in a $ making game?

Posted: 07/19/09 03:47 AM

Forum: Audio

Well, here's a pretty simple answer. Because all music in the NG Audio Portal is under this Creative Commons license (it says so on every song's page), you cannot use the music for commercial projects. So because you'll be making money off of the games, you'll have to contact and make arrangements with the author to use a song or create original music for you. And of course, many artists work hard on what they do, so musicians are going to want some kind of cut for the music that is used.

It's a quick answer, but someone might give a more detailed one or maybe correct anything I said.

Uh actually, if you make a song with "free use" loops, it will not be accepted either. Gluing together premade melody loops to make a "song" isn't original. Regardless of license. Your best to stay away from those for your first submission to newgrounds.

Well, if you were to use a drum loop (royalty-free) or something and sliced it up with a slicer VSTi, that should be ok, considering that's what a lot of people do. Same with finding and using single samples of a kick drum and stuff, and adding effects or whatever to make it sound better for your song. But yeah, I think I know what you're getting at: putting loops together in a sequence is not good at all.

Well if you wanted to, you could use Reaper for free. The demo version has all the features and saves your work and everything, but I'm sure the people who made the program would like people who find the program useful would like you to pay $60 for the license. I usually link people to this tutorial for Reaper, but the link doesn't seem to be working. :(

I'm not too sure what else there really is for freeware though.

Yeah, I think that's a lot of the reason why it's slowly being abandoned. I'll probably try to get something together again eventually, but I can't promise anything soon at all.

Well, if you type in a search term in the Audio search with the "Title" option, it also picks up stuff that has the search term in that little description part. So maybe if people started using that space as tags or something, maybe someday we'll get tags or something.

But I agree, there should be better search terms / tags for the AP.

Go to the Control Panel, then go to Sound. Click on the Recording tab, then right click somewhere in the list of devices, and check off "Show disabled devices.". Then Stereo Mix will show up, so you just have to right click on it and enable it.

I haven't seen this in a really long time. It was pretty warm for a while, and girls were even wearing short shorts. :D

Then today it snowed. Funny thing is that one girl still wore short shorts today, but I didn't want to take a picture... it might be creepy. :P

I didn't get a chance to download it, and since it was stolen, there is a real name for the song.

What is it?

I think it was this song, if I remember right. It's just that this version has the vocals, I don't know where you'd find the instrumental.

Go to "Edit > Preferences" and go to the "Quality" tab on the window that pops up. Then you can change the default sample rate to 44100 Hz. Or there's a small box on the bottom left of Audacity that says "Project rate", and that can also be changed to 44100 Hz.

Well if you wanted to, you could automate the frequency cut-off (assuming you're using a filter) so that it isn't muffled anymore. That's what I would do.

There's also a small knob beside the effect slot, called the mix level. You could also automate that little knob to zero, so that none of the effect is being applied.

ya I saw the movie, it was allright - way too much gorey parts tho - a bit unnecessary - def. not for the kiddies -rated R for a reason.

I saw it too... I thought it was pretty good. My managers at my theater also saw it, and absolutely hated it and thought that the only reason it was 18A was because of Dr. Manhattan's penis showing most of the movie. :S

On a completely unrelated note of me thinking out loud in a forum, this is my first post in the new lounge. :D

Yeah, there's a lot of people that don't like the genre descriptions on Newgrounds, so sometimes I'll add a bit of detail so that people get a small idea of what they are getting into. In your case, your hip hop music wasn't entirely what I was expecting, so I added a bit of a note for your name. I don't really want to do that for everyone, but I probably could if people really wanted me to. It just might look a bit cluttered or something, and I would probably would have to set up a new chunkier format for listing people.
