Just a bunch of hair fell out. That's pretty gross, but it's not surprising with an 8 year old keyboard that used to be white. Now it's mostly just brown.

A while ago I had a large box of Nerds I was working on throughout the night. I went to bed, and when I awoke I grabbed to box and poured the rest of it into my mouth, just to end up spitting out about 3 or 4 live ladybugs. That was pretty gross.

Topic: Newgrounds Contest - Free Wings

Posted: 10/23/09 11:45 PM

Forum: General

When did you first learn about Newgrounds?

A good friend of mine showed me some neat flash movies in 2003-04. I signed up in '05 so that I could save my favorites.

What do you most enjoy about the site?

The audio portal. Something about sifting through hours and hours of free music satisfies me.

Given one day at the reins of the site, what would you change, what would you fix?

Fix a lot of the dead links such as the "More Latest Submissions" and "More Best Tracks" links on the front page of the audio portal.

Is there anything you miss, that you'd like to see back? (I.E. Old Blam/Save Animations)

I miss being able to listen to all of the tracks of one artist on the same page. That was a lot nicer then the set up now.

Posted: 10/22/09 01:02 PM

Forum: General

About this time every year I have to go into my bedroom with a shop vac and sweep out hundreds of ladybugs from my window sills and ceiling. So, I'm used to the infestation. I hate spiders, but I let them live in my room since they tend to take care of a lot of them for me.

That's one of the funniest things I've heard all day. I'm so glad they found the kid though.

Not really. I couldn't care less.

Posted: 10/19/09 02:57 AM

Forum: General

I own a '98 White Ford Ranger with an extended cab. I love it, but the gas mileage is horrible (I get roughly 16-17 mpg on it). Sometimes I'll drive my fiancee's '95 green Dodge Neon, but I only like it because it's a stick shift and I don't get to drive those very often.

Topic: Guitar solo tips?

Posted: 10/17/09 03:31 AM

Forum: Audio

I tend to put a solo in every single one of my songs, mainly because I love to do it so much. In fact, my song Paranoia is basically two solos with some instrumentals in between. I find some of the easiest ways to spice up the solo a little is abusing the ability to bend the strings and hammer pulls. A lot of my stuff is just bending the same string over and over and alternating between pitch harmonics. This gives the appearance of different notes being played and adds some variety.

Another technique I use is going up and down the strings but play the same frets all together. What I mean is I play frets 12, 11, and 10 on the 4th string, then frets 12, 11, and 10 on the 5th string and the same thing on the 6th string. It adds some notes that don't really fit the scale, but again adds a little more substance. I guess what I'm saying is that if you go out of the scale on purpose at the right time, it can sound really good.

Or you can just do what Rage Against the Machine does and completely warp the sound of your guitar with weird effects and solo like that.

That sounds exactly like the weather here in Indiana right now, but it usually gets this way in October, so I'm not surprised. Indiana has some of the most bipolar weather of any state I've been to. It's actually 45 degrees right now, but we're expecting the high 70's next week.

You really gotta be careful when you get a girlfriend. I had one, but last year she morphed into a fiancee, and now she's almost a wife...

It's great to have a girlfriend, but not until you're ready for one. The first few I had broke my heart, but the one I got now is pretty cool.

Topic: Greatest WTF moment in your life?

Posted: 10/06/09 05:44 PM

Forum: General

I was at King's Island with my fiancee, brother, and my brother's friend. We were sitting on a bench by the Vortex when a girl came running up to us and just screamed at the top of her lungs. We just stared at her as she went running over to her laughing friends. A man ran up to her immediately and screamed in her face scaring her. We all laughed and thanked him as he left.

A few minutes later, the same girl came up and apologized to us and shook my brother's hand, but right as he touched her, she screamed again and ran away. I have no idea what that was about.

According to speedtest.net, I'm getting download speeds of 6.49 Mb/s and upload speeds of 2.81. I thought that was pretty decent, but the site says that's horrible for the internet I'm using...

It tends to fluctuate too. I've been as low as 700 kb/s and as high as 22.5 Mb/s.

I don't know if it would go to that extreme. I know a lot of Christians, and most of them wouldn't do "Jesus flashes". The Flash Portal would just be the same, only everything would be heavily censored. That means no swear words, no nudity, and no opinions other then the churches.

The audio portal wouldn't change much at all, other then some songs taken out for language. Most Christians I know can't stand gospel music and that genre is just a stereotype of Christianity. Even my church plays upbeat light rock, acoustic, and even country music during the service. We don't even touch gospel.

The only thing that would change about the art portal is no "mature" section, and anything that resembles a "demon" or "Satan" or anything evil would be banned. Other then that, it'd be the same.

Now, I'm not saying I agree with all of this, I'm just saying that's my opinion to what would happen to Newgrounds. And trust me, I would not stay if this were the case.

You're an idiot.

Most popular shows are "stupid". That's what attracts people to them. Just look at Family Guy, or South Park, or The Simpsons. The characters in those shows are "stupid". They do crazy things and outrageous things for comedy. The only difference between these shows and Johnny Test is that Johnny Test is intended for much younger viewers.

If you don't like the show, then change the channel. It's not that hard. My fiancee does that every time I turn the show on.
